My Top 18 Moments of 2018

Happy New Year’s Eve everyone. I can’t believe today is the last day of 2018!  Each year I like to take New Year’s Eve to reflect back on the year we’ve had and this one definitely takes the cake!  2018 was filled with so many incredible moments and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you following along with my journey! To celebrate the amazing year I’ve had, I’m sharing my top 18 moments of 2018 in today’s post! It was hard to narrow them down to an order so I just put them in chronological order!

We kicked off 2018 in Cabo San Lucas at The Cape Hotel to finalize all of our wedding details. Check out the full post here—>Top 5 Destination Wedding Planning Tips

2) I celebrated my two different bachelorette parties with all my best gals! See more on my bachelorette party here—>5 Essentials You Need For The Perfect Bachelorette Party

3) I hosted the most delicious bridal party luncheon/cooking class at Simplee Gourmet in New Orleans. See the full post here—> New Orleans Bridesmaids Luncheon Cooking Class

4) Blake and I got married with just our family present in New Orleans! For anyone who missed the blog post explanation…I had two weddings: one small family ceremony in New Orleans and then one in Cabo with all of our friends in March! I realize that it’s a bit of a unique situation, but we had always wanted to get married in Cabo! We talked about it for years, but when my dad was diagnosed with MS last year, our plans shifted.

I wanted my dad to feel included and be able to walk me down the aisle without me having to give up my dream of getting married in cabo. So I decided that the best decision for us was to just have two ceremonies, which would also allow us to include all the family members who are unable to travel to Cabo! Sounds like a lot of extra work, right? It was, but it was 100% worth it! I will be sharing more wedding details this year in 2019!

5) In March we set out on one of the biggest adventures of our lives…marriage and a big Cabo reception with all of our friends! I also launched my Wedding Collection with GiGi New York. See here—> GiGi New York x #HauteOffTheMarket Wedding Collection

6) We took photos on the most beautiful cliffside in Cabo just before we welcomed all of our friends to the resort! See more on the post here—> 3 Reasons to Take Day After Wedding Photos

7) We hosted our rehearsal dinner on a sailboat in Cabo to take all of our friends to see the famous El Arco! I will be sharing more on that in 2019!

8) We celebrated wedding ceremony #2 at The Cape hotel in Cabo with all of our friends. The whole week was even more incredible than I could have dreamed.

9) We enjoyed a relaxing girl’s beach trip at the Hilton San Destin after all of the wedding festivities. See the travel review here—>Hilton San Destin Travel Recap + Swimsuit Round Up

10) We started having Cabo withdrawals so we headed back to the Pueblo Bonito to visit again! See my travel review here —> The Towers at Pacifica Cabo Recap

11) I got to explore Nantucket Island with some of my fellow bloggers and the Lilly Pulitzer team. The whole trip was a dream. See the full travel recap here—> Nantucket Travel Review

12) I finally got to shoot some photos at a fully bloomed sunflower field here in Louisiana and it was so beautiful. The sunflowers towered over me!

13) The first time I ever visited Palm Beach, I fell in love with it and I promised myself I would return one day and I was so glad that the opportunity presented itself sooner than later. See my most recent Palm Beach travel review here—> Palm Beach Travel Guide

14) Bermuda is another destination that I promised myself I would return to and I still need to take Blake back there because it’s an island unlike any other. See my full post here—> Top 5 Instagram Worthy Spots in Bermuda

15) I turned 28 this past September! Learn 28 things about me that you might not know here—>28 Fun Facts About Me

16) I made some new friends at NYFW and got my blog story published in the LiketoKnow.it book available here—> LIKEtoKNOW.it: Stories from the Influencer Next Door

17) I woke up to the most magical trip through Paris with my love. Full travel review coming soon!

Wedding Guest Book Idea

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! I just wanted to share a little post wedding project that I’ve been working on with you. As most of you know, I incorporated some unique ideas into our wedding guest books so that our guests could really get creative and have fun with it! We wanted more than just signatures, we wanted memories! We wanted a book filled with our friends’ beautiful faces having fun at our wedding and custom little notes from each person. So we teamed up with FUJIFILM to allow our guests to take fun photos of themselves with Instax Mini 70 Instant Cameras at our reception and then tape them into out guest book and fill up an entire page with memories.

The Instax Mini 70 Instant Cameras are also fun to bring along the honeymoon to document your trip together! I also highly recommend them for bachelorette parties. I love being able to capture memories together that you can keep forever.

This was probably one of my favorite moments from our wedding day in Cabo.

We even provided our guests with Instax SHARE SP-2 Smartphone Printers to print photos from their iPhones to take some of their Cabo memories home with them. The Instax printers also came in handy as I was putting together my wedding scrapbook. It’s the perfect way to preserve your photos from your iPhone that rarely ever turn into hard copies that you keep forever.

They also serve as cute little personalized thank you cards to your friends. Print out a cute photo of the two of you from your wedding using the Instax SHARE SP-2 Smartphone Printer and write a little thank you on the bottom or just include the photo along with your hand written thank you card.

This is the exact guestbook we used from my GiGi New York #hauteoffthemarket Wedding  Collection —>White Gold Guest Book

I also loved dancing to our song at the reception with all of these beautiful hanging lights in the background and a sign that said “You are the best thing!”

GiGi New York x #HauteOffTheMarket Wedding Collection

Hey everyone, I hope you all had a nice weekend and Mother’s Day. I’m so excited to officially launch my exclusive GiGi New York x #HauteOffTheMarket Wedding Collection today! We’ve been working hard on the collection since Fall 2017 and I’m so happy to finally to share it with you along with a special promo code for 20% OFF your purchase. I know you saw some sneak peeks of the collection during my New Orleans and Cabo wedding festivities, but we added a couple more surprises along the way including personalized leather ring boxes, which are the sweetest little engagement gifts.

They’re perfect for holding your engagement ring on your nightstand or in a safe while traveling. I had a couple of adorable ring boxes while I was engaged, but none of them would stay closed in my bag while I was traveling except for a small leather ring box like the one I designed with GiGi New York. I always like to have a box to protect my ring while I’m not wearing it like during water excursions or even while showering.

The Floral Applique Clutches: My wedding coordinator and designer helped me plan a whimsical, garden-glam themed wedding for my New Orleans ceremony. So I decided to design some beautiful, yet simple floral appliqué clutches with GiGi New York as gifts for my bridesmaids. I went with ivory so that the bags would complement all wedding color schemes for future brides. We also added metallics to appliqué to maintain the glam theme of my wedding. Plus I think a pop of metallic makes any bag look a little fancier.

See more information on my bridesmaids dresses here—> Bridesmaids Dresses That You’ll Want to Wear Again

These personalized wedding hashtag journals also make great engagement gifts too because you can add their special wedding wedding hashtag to the cover and then bam! It’s the perfect wedding planning book for the bride.

I went with simple white gold tassel clutches for my Cabo wedding to complement all of the different colored dresses. Also, I didn’t want the floral clutches to clash with my floral bridesmaids dresses. We added oversized tassels and gold chain crossbody straps to the metallic clutches for convenience since it was a destination wedding and I gifted them to bridesmaids to use for the whole wedding weekend.

Wedding Wednesday: Custom Save The Date Cards

Hi everyone and Happy Wedding Wednesday! Today I’m sharing the details on our custom save the date cards that I created on Minted and I can’t think of a more perfect time to share them with you since today makes exactly two months until our wedding date in Cabo on March 17, 2018. On top of that, to cerebrate your engagement, Minted is offering 25% OFF save the dates until Friday 1/19 with code: ENGAGED

Oh and you just might be getting an exclusive first look at my wedding bands, which we just picked up from Lee Michaels this week. I of course had to try them on to double check the fit and show you!

When it comes to save the dates, it is best to give your guests six to eight months notice before the wedding especially if it’s a destination wedding like mine. We didn’t send our save the date cards out during that six to eight month period, but we made sure to communicate all of the travel information and wedding details to each of our guests via email as well as over the phone. However, we still wanted to send out save the dates to formally notify our guests. Plus if it’s not on the refrigerator, is it even really happening? LOL

What information do save the dates need to include?

  1. the couple’s names
  2. wedding date (If multiple days are involved due to a destination ceremony, you can choose to include those dates on the card or direct them to your wedding website for details.)
  3. location (doesn’t need to include the name of the venue— a city will do)
  4.  Notice for a formal invitation to follow or the wedding website, which I highly suggest if you’re doing a destination wedding. It’s the best and most efficient way to keep your guests updated and informed. Plus Minted offers a complimentary site with your Save the Date purchase! You can check out mine here—> www.hauteoffthemarket.minted.us

Minted offers so many beautiful save the date options that it took me forever to decide which design to go with. I ended up choosing a simple gold foil-pressed design so that our photo could take up the full space of the front of the card. I also chose gold foil detail on the inside of the envelope to really make the foil-pressed design pop upon opening. As for the back of my save the date cards, I included more photos along with sweet moments of our relationship and our wedding website information. If you’re interested in creating custom save the date cards with Minted, you’ll be happy to know that they are offering 25% OFF save the dates until Friday 1/19 with code: ENGAGED

Lastly, I cannot stress to you enough how helpful wedding websites are when it comes to destination weddings. It has been a life saver for us because we have so many events planned for the weekend. You can even create a custom URL like I did with our wedding hashtag #hauteoffthemarket!
