Get Sunkissed, Not Sunburnt!

Hi everyone, as we start to say goodbye to summer and take those last minute beach trips, I just want take a minute to remind you all that the daily use of SPF doesn’t end with the season. Applying UV protection should always be a apart of your daily beauty routine year round and I feel like a lot people tend to forget this once they put away their swimsuits and beach totes. The goal is to get sunkissed, not sunburnt! Fortunately, Supergoop has recently launched some amazing SPF products to help you remember to use sunscreen. They have also come out with easier ways for you to reapply especially for those girls-on-the-go. Scroll through this post to learn more about my top favorite Supergoop products and how I use them on a daily basis and not just when I’m at the beach.

Swimwear: One Piece Swimsuit (also available here) | Crochet Lace Cover Up | Sunkissed Hat c/o Beach Abaco (create your own here) | Round Towel | Custom Beach Tote c/o Mariella Vilar (similar tote here) | Ray-Ban Round Sunglasses

Jewelry: Crescent Necklace | Baroque Rose Cut Cuff & Link Bracelet c/o Julie Vos

CC Cream: The Supergoop CC cream has to be one one of my absolute favorites because you can apply the tinted SPF to your face before putting on the rest of your makeup. The mineral formula covers, corrects and protects all in one. Plus it doesn’t feel sticky on your face. I use their CC cream daily even when I don’t plan to wear makeup. Sometimes I just apply the CC cream and brush the Invincible Setting Powder SPF 45 over it.

Defense Refresh Setting Mist SPF 50: This product is ideal for the girl who likes to reapply her UV protection on the go without messing her makeup. I think this tends to be the biggest issue for the most of us. I mean how are we supposed to reapply liquid sunscreen all over all perfectly made up faces! The Defense Refresh Setting Mist is the perfect solution because it creates a shield that dries in just five seconds without altering your makeup. Just be sure to hold 10 inches away from your face. Plus it feels so cool and refreshing on your face on a steamy summer day, but again don’t confuse that for summer-use only. You can use this product all year round. Oh and did I mention that it has antioxidant-rich rosemary and mint to help improve your skin’s complexion.

Super Power Sunscreen Mousse SPF 50: This is the best type of sunscreen for the girls who hate sunscreen because it’s super lightweight, water resistant (80 mins) and quick-absorbing. Also, the blue sea kale ingredient provides antioxidant protection, while a blend of shea butter, olive and avocado oils leaves the skin nourished and moisturized. Plus if you have kids, they will actually like this sunscreen because the application process is quick and easy. I loved it the first time I tried and I’ve been making my fiancé use it too, which he doesn’t mind too much since I as I mentioned before, it’s quick and easy.

Invincible Setting Powder SPF 45: Just like the Defense Refresh Setting Mist, this product is made for the girl on the go. It is a 100% mineral, translucent, sweat resistant formula, which makes it perfect for reapplying. It also sets your makeup and helps to reduce shine all in one swoop! I love keeping this powder in my purse so I can whip it out anytime I start to notice my face getting oily. I also mentioned earlier that I like to apply it over the CC cream when I don’t feel like wearing makeup.

Bumble BFF Pizza & Prosecco Party

Happy Friday everyone! I’m so excited to share today’s post with you because I’m finally revealing all of the photos from my first Bumble BFF meet up in downtown Covington, which turned out to be a blast and huge success. I hosted a Pizza & Prosecco Party at Meribo in Downtown Covington and invited a few of my BFFs as well as some new friends that I met on the Bumble BFF app.

Speaking of the app, I’m sure you’ve heard of the Bumble dating app where the girl makes the first move, but I’m referring to their latest addition: Bumble BFF (aka Bumble But For Friends)! This app is ideal for women who may have just moved to a new city and are looking to make new friends. It’s also great for someone like me who works from home in which I barely have any social interaction with people during the work week other than my assistant and photographer. With that being said, I was so happy when I heard about the new friend feature on the Bumble app. When I first I signed up, I was shocked to see how many girls were in the same boat as me in my city! We’re all just looking for someone to lunch with, drink with or even try a new workout class together with. I even reconnected with some girls I went to high school with who were also looking for some new gal pals.

So when Bumble asked me to host a meet up in my own city, it only felt natural for me to jump at the opportunity. When it came to pre-planning my event, I knew I wanted to do something fun and interactive that all of the girls would enjoy. Also, since I’m a such a foodie, I though it would be cool to include one of my favorite local restaurants and some bubbly. That is when the idea was born! A pizza and prosseco party! After coming up with the Bumble BFF party idea, I met with the owner of Meribo and he set up time for us to come in and make our own pizzas in the wood fire oven. We had a blast learning how to make pizza from scratch while sipping on prosseco and catching up with each other. Oh and turns out that they were all foodies too because we didn’t stop at the pizza, I swear I think we tried everything on the menu. I even sent all of the girls home with Bumble bags filled with goodies.

After posting about my event on Instagram stories, I ended up getting so much feedback from you all wanting to join in on the fun! I would love to host another Bumble BFF meet up in town and get to hang out with you guys. All you have to do is download the Bumble app and initiate a conversation with me! However, If you don’t live near me, I highly suggest hosting a meet up of your own! It’s the perfect way to meet new friends and even catch up with old ones that you haven’t seen in a while.

On another note, if you do live in the southern Louisiana area, my friend Krystal from A Pinch of Lovely is hosting a Bumble BFF meet up tomorrow in Baton Rouge at Magpie downtown! Shoot me an email if you’d like to join last minute! —> Jenn.hauteofftherack@gmaill.com

End-Of-Summer Sandals

Hi everyone, I hope you all had nice weekend. I can’t believe we’re already at the of July. This summer has really flown by! With that being said, today I’m partnering with Sole Society to share some end-of-summer sandals that will get you through until fall especially if you live down here in the south. Down here in Louisiana we’re experts at mixing summer pieces with fall all the way until winter. Am I right though? LOL

These suede studded sandals are great for pairing with distressed jeans, cutoff shorts and even little dresses from now until “real” fall.” When I say “real fall” I’m referring to when it actually feels like fall in the south because we all know how that goes. I love them in this mushroom suede color for transitional look into fall, but they’re also available in black and olive which are super cute as well.

My Top Five Favorite Things From Houston

Hi everyone, today I’m sharing my five favorite things from my recent stay at the Four Seasons Hotel in Houston. If you follow me on Instagram, then you know that Krystal from A Pinch of Lovely and I traveled to Houston a couple weeks ago to scope out the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for you all and when we weren’t shopping we were enjoying our time at the Four Seasons Hotel or stuffing our faces at all of the delicious local restaurants. Speaking of delicious restaurants, the minute we arrived to Houston we made dinner reservations at Helen in the Heights to enjoy some Greek food and they did not disappoint. We ordered a smorgasborg of appetizers along with some entrees for everyone to split, but our favorites were the zucchini chips, Greek dips and chicken gyro platter. Scroll through this post to see more of my top faves from Houston.

 1) I finally got to use my beautiful new Mark & Graham travel bags.

If you follow along with Haute Off The Rack Regularly, then you know how often I travel and how extensive my travel bag collection has grown over the past few years especially with pieces from Mark & Graham. I’m a huge fan of their travel bags and accessories especially these beautiful new cream and camel spinners. On top of their travel bags, Mark and Graham is also one of my top gifting destination for any occasion for both men and women especially because you can personalize all of the items with their initials.

2) I ate some of the most delicious tacos I’ve ever tasted at Tacodeli! My two favorite tacos were the Cowboy and the Tikin Xic (salmon taco) and their chips and queso really hit the spot!

3) As if our suite wasn’t luxurious enough with plenty of space and excellent customer service, we also got to enjoy pool time at the Four Seasons fully equipped with a bar and cafe.

4) Never have I ever seen a more swoon-worthy oyster bar! State of Grace is goals! Be sure to order their hushpuppies, which comes with the most delicious butter I’ve ever had.  Seriously though, this butter was so goo that I wanted to take it home with me! LOL Their shrimp cocktail is also worth ordering and complements happy hour drinks perfectly.

5) My number one favorite thing about staying in a hotel is room service especially during breakfast time because who doesn’t love breakfast in bed. The Four Seasons did not disappoint with their mouth-watering blueberry pancakes and fresh fruit. They even offered gluten free toast!
