The 10 Best Fall Traditions
Happy Tuesday Shoesday everyone! Today I’ve partnered with Vince Camuto to bring you the 10 best fall traditions. From pumpkin carving and apple picking to hosting Friendsgiving parties and enjoying warm bonfires, we’ve got plenty of ideas to help you make the best of fall this year. So grab your friends and scroll through this post to put together the most epic fall bucket list.
- Make a trip to the pumpkin patch, but not just any pumpkin patch. Make it goal to find the best one in town and be sure to document it! I searched all over town until I found one that also offered gourds, heirloom pumpkins and pretty white ones too.
2. Decorate pumpkins! I personally don’t enjoy the messy part of carving pumpkins so like to decorate them instead with paint and embellishments. Don’t forget to set them on your front porch for everyone to enjoy.
3. Go boot shopping! Duh! Nothing gets me more in the mood for fall than a little shopping. Stock up on cozy sweaters, jeans and coats and then finish off the looks with some new booties from Vince Camuto. As you can see in today’s post, I snagged some new Vince Camuto booties and wore them to the pumpkin patch. Their shoe and accessory selection this year is unreal. 4. Invite your friends over for hot cocoa and s’mores over the fire pit outside. Remind everyone to bring warm blankets!
5. Spruce up your home for fall with cozy faux fur pillows and fleece blankets.
6. Learn how to cook a new homemade soup! I’m in Louisiana so I always like to try a new gumbo recipe.
7. Go apple picking and make apple cider. Don’t have an orchards nearby? Take a road trip and enjoy all the fall leaves along the way. I’ll warn you though…it’s hard not to stop every five minutes new jump in a pile of crispy red and orange leaves.
8. Bake some fall treats like pumpkin squares or pumpkin pie!
9. Host a Friendsgiving or bonfire party. Check out one of my Friendsgiving parties (here) from a few years ago for a little inspiration.
10. If you live in the south and find it hard to enjoy fall in 85 degree weather, take a trip somewhere cold where they actually have fall leaves. I’m currently in Stowe, Vermont filling my fall cravings.

Statement Sweaters: The Cutout Turtleneck
Happy Friday everyone, if you remember from last fall, we started seeing lots of statements sweaters with ruffle details, bell sleeves, open shoulders and cutouts. Well, guess what they’re back again and today I’m styling the cutout turtleneck. Doesn’t that sound heavenly? As I know that is some is something we all wish to do to turtlenecks sometimes. Cut them open for some breathing room!! Right? Well not only does particular cutout detail give you that much needed breeze of fresh air, but it also adds a hint of edge and style to the basic turtleneck sweater. I especially love this one by Aqua at Bloomingdales because in addition to the cutout, it also has side slits with a hi-low hem. And if you know me at all, you know I’m all about that dramatic hi-low hem!

5 Ways To Spend Productive Time Together At Home!
Hi everyone, today I’m sharing 5 ways to spend productive time together at home with Pottery Barn. As I mentioned on Instagram last night, I love traveling for a living, but I always hate leaving Blake behind so we’ve come up with some sweet and easy ways to make sure that we’re taking advantage of every moment in the house together. 1. Drink coffee together. For us, making moments count starts in the morning with breakfast and coffee. Blake always gets up before I do so he’ll start the coffee and I’ll froth the cream and clean up. Before breaking out the biscuits and eggs, we’ll sit and enjoy our coffee together in our signature alphabet mugs and just catch up. Coffee talk with your significant other is a must!
2. Make Your Bed. Making your bed together each morning will help you start off the day feeling fresh, accomplished and organized. Plus it helps remind us that we’re a team.

3. Do mini household chores together. On the weekends we always catch up on dirty laundry and towels. Speaking of towels, I always heard great things about Pottery Barn’s Quick Drying bath towels but, I never understood how truly wonderful they are until we received some from our wedding registry. 4. Make plans! Make future plans, plans for the day, plans for the house, vacation plans, basically just plan something together to look forward to. While were away from each other, upcoming plans together give us something to hold on to and work towards.
Side Note: I always like to keep trashcans with lids in the guest bathroom to keep the room looking clean. No one likes to see other people’s bathroom trash. I recommend this Mercer Lidded Trash Can from Pottery Barn because it’s chic and clean. Plus you can get it monogrammed.
5. Snuggle on the couch together. This might not sound very productive, but it actually is because relationships take work and sometimes all your relationship needs is to unplug and enjoy a little R&R together. One of our favorite lazy things to do on Sunday is lay on the couch for hours watching movies.
