Sequin Bridesmaids Dresses

Happy weekend everyone! With fall and winter weddings around the corner, I decided to partner up with Sophisticated Woman MagazineKendra Scott and some local Louisiana creatives to bring you some fresh and sparkly bridesmaids ideas! I know that sequin bridesmaids dresses have been pretty popular over the past couple of years, but how about you try mixing up the colors with pewter, gold, blush and champagne. Your bridal party will literally look more like an actual party instead of the standard wedding party look. Talk about bridal party goals! I know some brides worry about those types of dresses outdoing their own, but these glam gowns are only meant to make you shine even more! Just picture it like a glamorous train of sequins leading to right you!

Two Ways To Wear Chambray

Hi everyone, today I’m sharing two ways to wear chambray! However, first, I want to apologize for not being as consistent with blog posts recently. I let travel and stress get the best of me and so I’ve been posting fewer on my actual blog lately. That is all about to change though and I will be posting daily again just as I do on my Instagram!

Anyway, back to the chambray outfits! I know that we’ve officially moved on from summer, but we haven’t actually made it to fall yet considering that the temps are still up in the 90s throughout most of the southern region including Louisiana where I live. With that being said, even though I’ve been posting plenty of fall outfits for you to look forward to I can’t actually run around all day wearing jeans, boots and a jacket when it’s 93 degrees outside. So what do you wear when you don’t want to wear bright summer prints and colors and it’s too hot for new fall clothes? You wear chambray and stripes! You can always count on those two to get you through it. So I put together two super cute looks with one being more dressy and the other more casual for everyday wear.

The Chicest Way To Say Thank You

Hi everyone, I’m officially back from New York Fashion Week and Dallas so I’m just now getting a chance to unpack and start on my thank you cards to all of the wonderful brands that provided me with outfits for fashion week and invited me to their parties and shows. I really want the brands to know how appreciate them and nothing says thank you better than a handwritten card especially on beautifully crafted stationary. Speaking of beautiful stationary, I’m so excited to mail out my thank you notes on these intricately decorated cards from the  Lela Rose x Papyrus collection. The new collection is one of the first stationery collaborations of its kind and is inspired by her use of beautiful textured fabrics, feminine patterns and embellishments, as well as bold colors and patterns from her spring collection.

When I was little, my mom always made sure I gave thanks to other whether it was to someone who held a door open for me or to God in our prayers before dinner each night. As I got older, she insisted that I physically write thank you cards to people, which I didn’t find very significant and thought was a waste of my time. I didn’t understand why just saying thank you wasn’t enough until I started working and had my own busy life that I realized how much people’s time and hard-earned money meant. It wasn’t until then that I learned that sitting down to write a thank you card is the least I could do to show my thanks to people who offered me their valuable time and gifts that they worked hard to buy. Also, speaking of time being valuable, a heart-felt thank you card doesn’t write itself. A lot of time and thought goes into creating thank you cards so I think they should look just as beautiful on the outside as the words written on the inside and that’s exactly what the Lela Rose x Papyrus collection offers. Trust me, elaborate, hand written thank you cards go a long way!

Express Workwear Outfits For Home & The Office!

Good morning readers, in case you don’t know, today is my 26th birthday! However, today isn’t just about celebrating my birthday, it’s also about celebrating where I currently am in my life and reflecting on what I have accomplished over the past years. I’ve now been blogging for about 4.5 years and I’ve officially been blogging full time from home for about 2.5 years, which is huge for me! I never thought I would actually get to live my dream job from home while also traveling all over!

Speaking of working from home, sometimes I can get stuck in rut of just working in my pajamas all day without leaving the house, which can sometimes make me lazy and less productive. So my boyfriend suggested getting dressed for work each day to help promote  productivity and professionalism for phone calls even if I’m just sitting at home. Nothing too formal! I just try an wear something comfortable, yet still presentable enough for meetings and acceptable for the office and that means your office too! I know I don’t actually work in an office where someone is holding me accountable for my everyday appearance and weekly deadlines so I have to do that myself and I have found that getting dressed in office appropriate clothing helps with this. Fortunately, I found plenty of affordable and work-appropriate pieces at Express that are still stylish for the me as a blogger and comfortable enough for sitting at home. As for you all, Express also offers appropriate pieces for stricter office dress codes too! They have a huge selection of dress pants, blouses, skirts and dresses.

In fact, I actually bought workwear outfits for my first ever job interview and internship back in college. I still remember it was the cutest mauve-colored pencil skirt with a sheer, black blouse and a thin leopard print hair calf belt with black pumps! It’s funny how even now after six years, I can still count on Express for workwear outfits!

However, I’m not gonna lie…I still sit in my pajamas or loungewear all day every once in a while, but Express actually has me covered in that department too! Haha! Their One Eleven Loungewear is Everything!
