Hi everyone and Happy Sunday! I’m going to share the story behind these photos with you today. It’s really no spectacular story. I guess you might consider it more of an explanation.  I’m willing to bet that I’m not the only one who thinks this, but lately it’s been hard to find things in my closet to wear (other than casual jeans & a plaid shirt) to fit my mood because even though it’s technically still winter, my mind is already on pre-spring mode. I want to wear bright colors and lighter clothing, but it’s obviously still way too cold for that. So when Kaela (my photographer) showed up to my house recently for a blog photo shoot, she of course found me throwing things around in my office/closet and totally unprepared for the shoot!  I decided that due to my lack of outfit inspiration, I’d rather explore Downtown Covington until I felt more inspired. So we did! In case you didn’t catch on, Downtown Covington is where I live.

It was such a beautiful day and during our little venture we came across the lovely English Tea Room. The quaint old patio and bright red telephone booth looked so adorable that I couldn’t help myself and insisted that we pause the exploration to stop for hot tea and freshly baked scones. Our waiter was so sweet and knowledgable about all of the teas. He even remembered what I ordered from one of my previous visits! Hopefully he’ll remember next time too because I already forgot the name of my tea! Haha! Anyway after stopping to enjoy ourselves on that beautiful afternoon, we couldn’t leave the English Tea Room without a little photo opt in the telephone booth! I mean, can you blame me!  If you ever find yourself wandering around Downtown Covington, make sure to stop by for afternoon tea and delicious scones hot out the oven!

Good Morning readers, if you’ve been wanting to add a little more volume, thickness and  even color to your hair for special occasions, I highly suggest you take advantage of my Luxy Hair promo code and giveaway! Use code:(LUXYHAUTEOFFTHERACK) for 5$ OFF your first set of Luxy Hair extensions.

In these photos, I am wearing the 220 grams set for “thicker hair” in the Ombre Chestnut shade. What I love about this particular set is that not only does it add length, but it also gives my hair so much more volume and even a little pop of color on the ends. In fact, the color aspect might be my favorite part because I’ve only colored my hair once ever in my life and I didn’t like how it changed the texture of my hair so I haven’t colored it again since.  However, I still crave that ombre look so I love how I can add color with my Luxy Hair extensions. Also, if you’ve been afraid to color your hair, this is a great way to try out some different looks without actually altering the color of your own hair.

Good Luck! Please feel free to reach out to me at jenn.hauteofftherack@gmail.com for any other questions regarding Luxy Hair extensions!

Hi everyone, I hope you had a wonderful weekend. How beautiful is this book room at The Wellness Studio in downtown Covington. I recently had a collaborative/creative meeting with the owners, Mary Kathryn and Katie at their Covington studio and I absolutely fell in love with the unique vintage decor of the place. So naturally I brought Kaela back with me to snap a few photos to show you!  I mean who would ever think to make a coffee table out of an old bathtub and on top of that, come up with the idea to make an accent wall by covering half the room with old books. I’ll tell you who…Louisiana’s own Anthony Ryan Auld! For more on The Wellness Studio and what their team offers, check out their site here–> surprisinglywell.com

Who suddenly feels inspired to paint their fire place light blue and put old books to use?! Me! Stay tuned for more photos of the gorgeous Wellness Studio!

Hi everyone and Happy Friday! Today I’m sharing my favorite local coffee spot in Madisonville, LA, Abita Roasting Co. My boyfriend and I stop there for coffee and breakfast almost every weekend. I love going there on beautiful sunny days so we can enjoy our coffee outside by the river. My favorite part of the coffee house is the chandelier that hangs in the back courtyard or the distressed green shutters against the white wood. Oh, and their own signature coffee blend of course! Make sure to check out the video for more details of the inside here–> Abita Roasting Co

Abita Roasting Co serves full breakfast on the weekends. I always order the plain waffle or the bacon, swiss and tomato croissant with a side of grits–it’s my favorite. Every now and then I’ll get a mini cinnamon roll or a specialty cupcake with my coffee. I hope you try this place out! They even serve lunch too. I always get the turkey and swiss panini for lunch. Anyway, check it out and I’d love to hear what you think!
