Naked On The Run Palette c/o Urban Decay Cosmetics

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Today, I’m sharing my beauty on-the-go tricks with Urban Decay’s Naked On The Run palette.  If you’re always running around to different meetings and events like me, you will love Urban Decay’s Naked On The Run travel kit especially if you’re one to finish your makeup in the car (not while driving). It’s also great to use for a quick touch up in between work and dinner dates if you don’t have time to stop at home. The travel kit has everything you need for that ultimate Naked look: “six ALL-NEW shades of Eyeshadow (including an extra large dose of the perfect all-over shade, 5050). Bronzer. Blush. It even comes with a full-size Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss and a travel-size 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (both new shades), plus a travel-size Perversion Mascara.”

6 On-The-Go Beauty Tips:

1) Pack your Urban Decay Naked On The Run Travel Kit for quick and easy touch-ups of course! It’s got you covered when it comes to your eyes, cheeks, lips and highlights!

2) Always keep makeup remover or face cleansing wipes in your bag to help you get rid of the smudged mascara and eyeliner beneath your eyes before reapplying. That goes for lipstick too! Dry lips with worn off lipstick is not a good look! Gently remove your old lipstick with a wipe and rub on some lip balm (I like to use Aquaphor) before applying more lipstick and/or lipgloss.

3) Keep a mini deodorant on hand! Even if you don’t stink, it will still help you feel refreshed!

4) Mini Hairspray & a hairbrush (or) comb are an absolute MUST especially if you’ve got long hair like me! Clean up your strays and detangle the ends of your hair before finishing with a light hairspray. I like to use The Wet Brush because it glides effortlessly through my tangles and eliminates all the tearing and tugging. (mini version here–> The Wet Brush Squirt) For hairspray, I like to use Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Medium Finish to spray all over my head because it’s lightweight product and it smells amazing! I also love the smell of Air Control by Aveda. **Side Note: Sometimes I like to wrap my hair into a loose bun while I drive to set loose curls. Once I arrive to my next location, I pull out the bun, tussle my roots and run my fingers through my hair to get those effortless beach like waves. I finish the look by spraying hairspray throughout my entire do!

5) Always pack your concealer or a lightweight foundation to help conceal anything that pops up on your face. I like to finish with a loose mineral powder to set the foundation.

6) Last but not least, drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated throughout the day to help maintain fresh and vibrant looking skin!

I really do always keep all of these items on hand when I’m out and about! You can even ask my friends. Speaking of my friends… in my last post about the On The Run travel kit, I mentioned that I think my boyfriend and friends secretly had the Naked On The Run Palette created just for me so that they don’t have to wait on me while I pack all of my stuff to finish getting ready in the car! Just Kidding, but it really is perfect for all of us “always running behind” people.

Good Morning readers, if you’ve been wanting to add a little more volume, thickness and  even color to your hair for special occasions, I highly suggest you take advantage of my Luxy Hair promo code and giveaway! Use code:(LUXYHAUTEOFFTHERACK) for 5$ OFF your first set of Luxy Hair extensions.

In these photos, I am wearing the 220 grams set for “thicker hair” in the Ombre Chestnut shade. What I love about this particular set is that not only does it add length, but it also gives my hair so much more volume and even a little pop of color on the ends. In fact, the color aspect might be my favorite part because I’ve only colored my hair once ever in my life and I didn’t like how it changed the texture of my hair so I haven’t colored it again since.  However, I still crave that ombre look so I love how I can add color with my Luxy Hair extensions. Also, if you’ve been afraid to color your hair, this is a great way to try out some different looks without actually altering the color of your own hair.

Good Luck! Please feel free to reach out to me at jenn.hauteofftherack@gmail.com for any other questions regarding Luxy Hair extensions!

**Giveaway ends March 5th at 11:59 pm

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I hope you’re all enjoying this gorgeous weekend. We couldn’t ask for better weather here in southern Louisiana. I’ve already spent most of my day outside shopping and enjoying lunch with my boyfriend. Kaela and I actually shot this tulle skirt this past Thursday, but the sun shined just as beautifully today.

Anyway, in case you’re wondering where to find this exact skirt on Bliss Tulle’s site, you can’t because I had it custom made. Not to worry though because you can easily have one custom made for yourself too! Just email Christine at info@blisstulle.com with your measurements and style request and she’ll have your dream tulle skirt to you in no time. If you’re wondering why I requested to have this skirt specially made for me, you can ask Pinterest that question!  After staring at my Pinterest boards for hours one day, I decided that I needed a majestic tulle ball gown to prance around in my magical field for no reason. Haha! You all know how Pinterest gets the best of us sometimes and drives us to buy, make, bake and order all kinds of things! At least that’s what it does to me! This might sound lame, but this tulle skirt made me feel like a little girl again dressed up like a pretty pretty princess! It was truly a magical day! Haha! I’m not kidding! You can even ask Kalea!  I hope these pictures of me frolicking around an open field wearing a tulle ball gown inspires you to have a little fun and maybe even get your own custom made tulle skirt to enjoy!

Make sure to follow along with my Bliss Tulle Valentine’s Day Instagram takeover at @Blisstulle!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and Happy Valentine’s Day! xoxo, Jenn

P.S. I found this rose gold cropped top at Forever 21 over the Christmas holidays and even though I didn’t need it for anything at the time I bought it anyway because it was only $15!  Anytime you see a cute cropped top under $20, you buy it! Trust me, you’ll end up needing it for something!

Hi everyone, with Valentine’s Day right around the corner, today I thought I’d give you an inside look at my perfect date night at the Southern Hotel’s restaurant, Ox Lot 9 in downtown Covington, LA. I’m so excited to finally share this post with you because Ox Lot 9 is one of me and Blake’s favorite spots in town. We live just a few blocks down from the hotel so you can usually find us sitting at the bar enjoying cocktails by the best bartender in town (his name is Scott! He makes one hell of a fresh pimm’s cup), appetizers and of course dessert! You all know I always have to order dessert no matter how full I am!

In fact, we adore their dessert so much that sometimes we stop by Ox Lot 9 just for the sweet pear and apple pie served with vanilla bean ice cream or the Campfire dessert, which is to die for! It’s a house-made graham cracker crust topped with Belgian chocolate, hickory smoked vanilla bean ice-cream and covered in a torched honey meringue. It’s the sophisticated, adult version of s’mores, and I love it “s’more” than you know! Was that a lame joke? Haha!  Sorry, but I had to!

Anyway, one of the best parts of Ox Lot 9 other than their savory desserts is the cultural variety of their appetizers and main dishes. For appetizers, we always order the Tomato Salad with marinated blue crab, cucumbers, basil aioli and balsamic dressing. We also like the Braised Chicken Tamale and I’m a huge fan of their Smoked Short Rib “Yaka Mein,” which is a delicious soup with udon noodles, baby squash, cabbage, beech mushrooms and a soft poached egg.

During our last dining experience when we shot these photos, I tried raw oysters for the first time. I know that must sound crazy that I’ve been living in Louisiana for over 18 years and I’ve never tasted a raw oyster, but give me a break! The thought of the swallowing a raw, slimy object out of a shell sort of freaks me out, but I’ve gotta say that they were actually pretty appetizing! I was so nervous at first though because the chef and his family were standing nearby and I was thinking, “Oh my gosh! What if I hate it and want to spit it out! What will I do?” I’m sure Blake was thinking, “Oh God, she better not freak out and try to spit it her napkin or make an awful face!”  He knows me all too well, but I did it and took it like a champ! Haha! If you’ve never tried raw oysters before, I definitely recommend tasting them for the first time at Ox Lot 9 because they’re marinated in cucumber and lemon legnonette. I know you’re supposed to eat them with Worcestershire an cocktail sauce, but I don’t know about all of that just yet!!

Now for the good stuff, the cocktails! Blake likes to drink Buffalo Trace Old Fashions at Ox Lot 9 and the Southern Hotel. As I mentioned before, I love a good pimm’s cup and Scott, the bartender makes an excellent one. You really can’t go wrong with any of his specialty cocktails! I’ve never been disappointed.

Check out more of their dishes on their menu here–> Ox Lot 9 Menu

Stay tuned for more photos and my review of the Southern Hotel!
