3 At Home Date Night Ideas

Hey everyone, today I’ve teamed up with Nordstrom to share three at home date night ideas with you. I even convinced Blake to join in on the fun! Although, it wasn’t too hard once he learned that pizza that would be involved considering that is one of our favorite kinds of at home dates.

Blake’s Outfit: Black Stretch Skinny Jeans | Jersey Hoodie (we also like this Slub Hoodiehoodie pullover) | White T-Shirt

Blake’s entire at home date night look is from Nordstrom. It’s easy to find full outfits for B at Nordstrom because they offer such a wide variety of styles and sizes for men. I picked out this jersey hoodie for Blake while I was shopping for our upcoming trip to Paris because I thought it would be great for traveling or even just wearing around the house.

Jenn’s Outfit: Wayf Posie Strappy Cami | Barefoot Dreams Circle Cardigan | Articles of Society Jeans (similar here)

I can’t get enough of these strappy camis from Nordstrom because I get such a use out of them year round. In fact, I actually own this same cami in five different colors. I love pairing them with oversized blazers and cozy cardigans in the all and then mini skirts and cutoff shorts in the summer.

3 At Home Date Night Ideas

 1) Cook a new dish together! | I know that sounds cliché, but I don’t just mean for you to cook your usual taco Tuesday casserole. Instead, try a brand new recipe like maybe a dish from another culture like Japanese sushi or Spanish paella! Then make an appetizer or dessert to complement your dish. Our friends actually made us paella at our last dinner club meeting, which brings me to second part of this idea…start a dinner club with your friends where you each take turns hosting dinner parties at your homes. That still counts as a date night at home, right?

2) Build a fort & watch your favorite childhood movie! | I know what you’re thinking…we aren’t kids anymore, why would you want to make a mess in the living room? Well because building forts in the living room with all the blankets and pillows in the entire house is of one of my favorite childhood memories so why not recreate those memories as an adult especially if you have kids. They’d love it. We don’t have kids yet, but I’m a kid at heart and the thought of cuddling up under a sheet tent with popcorn and snacks in front of my favorite childhood movie sounds like a magical night. I love anything Disney! Blake’s favorite childhood movie is actually “Dances With Wolves.” LOL! Strange I know, but he said he used to watch it every day as a kid!

3) Fancy Take Out! | Last but not least, kick off your shoes after a long day at work and order in! We always like to order pizza with ranch of course. Light some candles and pop open a bottle of rosé to give the night a fancier and more romantic feel. Then wind down and pick out a movie to watch or start a new show together on Netflix. We just started watching “Jane The Virgin.”

Top 5 Instagram Worthy Spots in Bermuda

Hey everyone, today I’m sharing my Hamilton Princess travel review with you along with the top 5 Instagram worthy spots in Bermuda. For those of you who are new to Haute Off The Rack, this was actually my second trip to Bermuda. I traveled there by boat from New Jersey three years ago with some of my blogger friends and it was so beautiful that I promised myself I would return one day… just not by boat! LOL

Cruising through the Atlantic ocean is a bit of a rocky ride so this time I flew, which was a much more pleasant experience. The travel time isn’t bad at all. We flew one hour to Atlanta from Louisiana and then 2.5 hours to Bermuda. We stayed at the Hamilton Princess Resort, which is on the bay right in the heart of town, but we still had access to their Beach Club.

Top 5 Instagram Worthy Spots in Bermuda

1) The Boat Dock at Hamilton Princess | This is the perfect place to watch the sunset before heading to dinner at Marcus. By the way, you must order the cornbread appetizer! It’s to die for! The Chicken & Waffles is also super delicious too.

2) Flatt’s Village | I just can’t help myself when it comes to colorful buildings along the water so we of course had to make a stop at Flatt’s village near the aquarium to explore. We even ended up seeing a wild sea turtle, which so cool because it’s a sign of good luck. Because of their long lifespan, sea turtles often symbolize patience, wisdom, endurance, and good luck. Blake and I actually saw a giant sea turtle on the beach the day after our wedding so I definitely believe in the symbolism.

3) Pose on Pink | One of the best parts about the Hamilton Princess Bermuda other than their amazing food and service is the fact that the hotel is pink. And you know I can’t resist snapping a photo of my outfit in front of a pink wall.

4) Jobson’s Cove | This was the first spot I visited when I arrived in Bermuda. It’s the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen in my entire life with magical pink sand and the most shade of turquoise water. I highly recommend watching the sunset here. In fact, we stopped here twice during our trip to watch the sun go down.

Fall Floral Maxi Dress Under $15

Hey everyone, I hope you all had a nice weekend. Today I’ve teamed up with Walmart to share some fall florals with you. If you live down south like myself, then you know that even though the month says it’s fall, it doesn’t actually feel like fall, which means boots and sweaters aren’t currently happening for us. Fortunately, I found this super cute floral romper dress that you can actually wear right now and enjoy in this weather. Now if you live up north where it’s a bit cooler, you can still wear this romper maxi dress with a suede moto jacket and some ankle booties.

Scroll through this post to see how I styled this fall floral maxi dress for under $15, which by the way when you see a cute dress for under $15, you buy it in every print. Who’s with me?! I got the size medium because it’s technically from the juniors department so it runs a little smaller. I’m only 5 ft so this one is for all my petite girls out there!

28 Fun Facts About Me!

Happy Friday everyone and Happy Birthday to me! In honor of turning 28 today, I thought it would be fun to share 28 fun facts about myself. I’ll also be sharing more details about these facts on my Instagram stories this weekend. But first, I have to thank Sucre in New Orleans for making me the most beautiful macaron cake I’ve ever seen. And would you believe if I said that it tasted even better than it looked? Because it did!

28 Fun Facts About Me:

  1. I’m Filipino and Italian. My mom is full Italian and my dad is full Filipino.

2) My husband, Blake and I have been together since high school so we’re currently going on 13 years! Crazy, right?

3) I interned in Disney World when I was junior in college. I wanted to be a princess (Jasmine or Pocahontas), but I was “too short” so I ended up taking out at the trash at Peco’s Bill in Magic Kingdom for four months of my life instead. Let’s just say I don’t consider Disney World to be the most magical place on earth anymore. LOL

4) I’m always hungry and never turn down Chick-fil-a.

5) My personal blog interview was published in the LiketoKnow.it coffee table book this past month. See here—>Stories From The Influencer Next Door

6) I casually host dance parties and perform impromptu musicals for my husband all the time even when doesn’t ask me to, which by the way….he never asks me to! LOL

7) When I was little I wanted to be an actor and singer. I actually still dream about it.

8) I auditioned for the tv show Glee when I was in college. Obviously, they didn’t cast me, but we all know they’re clearly missing out. 😉

9) I have zero concept of time all thanks to my mother who made me late for everything growing up, but I’m working on it. I always set my clocks 10 minutes ahead to try and help.

10) I hate scary movies and can’t even watch the previews. When Blake and I go to the movies, I wait outside of the theatre until the previews over and then he calls me in. That’s how big of a baby I am!

11) When I started my blog, I barely knew how to use a computer! Now I run my own website.

12) I went to LSU for 5 years, but never graduated because my blog started bringing more opportunities than school did. However, I can always go back one day! Maybe.

13) I never let Blake and I go to bed mad at each other.

14) I love hot coffee in the morning, which I put in the microwave at least five times before finishing it.

15) Some of my favorite shows include: Friends, The Office, Modern Family and This Is Us

16) While I love brunch, it also stresses me out because I hate skipping lunch. LOL I love all meals though and the thought of skipping one gives me anxiety.

17) I’m a notorious overpacker, yet I never even get around to wearing even half of the things I packed.

18) I am the most positive person you will ever meet. My glass is always half full!

I thought I knew 28 fun facts about myself, but now I’m running out of things to say so I’m going to let Blake take over. This should be interesting…

8 more things you don’t know about me (written by Blake):

19) Jenn is a terrible driver. Do not get in the car with her or ask her for directions unless you’re looking for the nearest Chick-fil-a.

20) She used to only watch the Disney channel until I recently converted her to Netflix this past year.

21) Jenn doesn’t know how to cook, but she always knows how to make me laugh. She has the best sense of humor and always knows how to laugh at herself.

22) We almost didn’t get to go on our first date because she was in trouble for leaving the garage door open.

23) Her meal was only $4 on our first date. Clearly that was a trick. Let’s just say it’s never been under $4 since!

24) She has made me multiple scrapbooks over the years “that I read everyday because I love them!” 😉

25) She’ll always make you feel like the smartest person in the room…;)

26) Every morning when I bring her coffee in bed, she says “bring me my robes!” like she’s the queen of the house or something. LOL! She also requests a pair of socks her feet are always cold.

27) She dances around the house way more than y’all witness on Instagram stories.

28) She is literally the most annoying person I know, but I can’t imagine anyone else more annoying that I would rather spend the rest of my life with! Happy Birthday Jenn! I love you!
