How to Style A Sleeveless Trench Coat

Hey everyone! Today is the official launch day of the most sophisticated-chic Sleeveless Trench Duster and Mock Neck Bodysuit that I designed in collaboration with Gibsonlook. I’m super excited about the sleeveless piece because it’s unlike anything I’ve ever designed with Gibsonlook before since we’ve been working together, but when you see the styles, you’ll immediately see my name written all over them. If you’ve followed me for a while, you know that I’ve always been a huge fan of sleeveless outerwear. In fact, the sleeveless trench duster was inspired by an outfit I wore to NYFW years ago. It was one of my favorite looks I’ve ever worn so I wanted to recreate that look for you all to enjoy too. The sleeveless duster comes in three colors: black, burgundy and tan (more of a light beige). This sleeveless trench is as versatile as it gets and will totally elevate your workwear wardrobe.

As for the Jennifer Mock Neck Bodysuit, I’m sure you’ve seen rocking similar styles before as I think it’s such a flattering cut and neckline. It comes two colors: Black & Tan (the tan is very light –almost more of an ivory) This is a closet staple that is great for layering and can be style multiple different ways.

How to Style A Sleeveless Trench Coat:

MY SIZING AND HEIGHT FOR REFERENCE:

Most people don’t realize how petite I am and I understand that knowing my sizes can help you determine what size to get.
I am 5 ft and I wear a size 27 in high waisted jeans & smalls in leggings. I’m currently a 34B and take size XS/S in dresses and tops, smalls in sports bras, and XS-S in outerwear. I typically size down in Gibsonlook pieces. However, I suggest going true to size in these pieces because there is no stretch. I’m wearing a size XS in the Jennifer Mock Neck Bodysuit and XS in the Jennifer Trench Duster Dress.

Jennifer Mock Neck Bodysuit:

We designed the mock neck bodysuit to pair with trench duster, but this piece is a closet staple that can be worn multiple different ways. Plus a mock neck always makes me feel sophisticated and is very flattering on the shoulders. The best part is that it has a zipper at the nape of the neck so you don’t have to squeeze the mock neck over your hair and makeup and mess it all up. Also, I designed the bodysuit with a thong style to avoid any panty lines on your jeans and skirts.

The bodysuit can be worn with jeans, skirts, shorts, trousers, you name it! It’s a super sleek and lightweight fabric, which makes it a great base top for layering. You can wear it to work with trousers and a blazer, or out to lunch with a pair of shorts and a cardigan or even on date night with a pair of high waisted jeans and heels. Layer gold necklaces over it the top to dress it up.

Sizing: I’m wearing the size XS. This top runs true to size.

Jennifer Trench Duster Dress:

This Jennifer Trench Duster Dress is sophisticated-chic while versatile and effortlessly cool all at the same time! It’s the perfect transitional piece into fall because it gives you all the fall vibes with the long coat factor, but the sleeveless feature makes it bearable to wear in the warmer months leading into fall. Once the weather cools down, style the sleeveless trench with boots and sleeveless turtleneck sweaters underneath or long sleeve blouses. You can also wear it as a dress with a longline topcoat over it.

I feel like a powerhouse in this sleeveless trench coat that can also be worn as a dress. I also feel so cool wearing it open with a pair jeans and bodysuit underneath. I designed this piece to help you elevate your everyday outfits.

I love the cinched detail on the back that makes it super flattering on the waist as well as the removable tie belt so you can wear the trench open with it loosely tied in the back or tie in front with a cute outfit underneath. You can even completely remove the waist tie and replace it with a statement belt.

I would wear the sleeveless trench duster to lunch, shopping, happy hour, work meetings and the office (if I had one! LOL). Speaking of offices, if you aren’t allowed to wear sleeveless tops to work, just wear a long sleeve dress or blouse with the trench duster over it.

Now, back to the fun stuff! Follow the recipe below to make these delicious homemade ice cream sandwiches.

How to Make Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches

Ingredients:

Large Cookies — We like chocolate-chip and M&M cookies, but you can use whatever kind you’d like. You could even bake your own cookies, but we got some from the bakery to save time.

Toppings: The sky’s the limit when it comes to toppings. In fact, I could think of a bunch of other toppings that would be delicious over ice cream, but we went with chocolate chips, Reeses Pieces, Oreos & Rainbow sprinkles.

Pint Size Ice Cream — Choose your favorite or go simple with vanilla and let the toppings be the flavor. We got the 3 flavors: vanilla, mint chocolate chip and strawberry.

Steps:

1. Crush all of your toppings in plastic baggies and then pour them into their own separate bowls.
2. Use a sharp knife to cut your ice cream pint containers into 3-4 slices to create the perfect size ice cream filling for your cookie sandwich. The trick is to make the ice cream slice larger than the cookie so that it’s easier to roll into your toppings and ensure that everything sticks!
3. Place your ice cream slice between two cookies and dip it into your topping of choice
4. Be sure to place in the freezer immediately after making them unless you’re ready to serve! We laid ours out on tin foil in the freezer until we were ready to eat them!

The Jennifer Shirt Dress is comfortable, versatile and effortlessly chic, which is no surprise since it was especially designed with my Haute Off The Rack girls in mind. This dress can take you from the work week to the weekend and everything in between. It features an adjustable hidden waist tie, 3/4 sleeves, side pockets and buttons all the way down the front so you can wear it open! I made sure to choose a breathable fabric for summer that is also wrinkle resistant too. When it comes to styling the dress, wear it causally with sandals and a hat or dress it up with heels and a belt. You can even throw it over cutoff shorts and a tank for an everyday summer look. I especially love wearing it as a swim coverup! I have a feeling that the Jennifer Shirt Dress will sell out super fast so be sure to order yours today!

Sizing: Be sure to size down because Gibsonlook runs large. I am wearing the size XXS and it’s still comfortable a spacious enough to move around in. I designed the Jennifer Shirt Dress with a slight high-low hem so you can get that mini dress look in the front without worry about it being too short in the back when you bend over. The dress is also fully lined so you don’t have to worry about it being see through.

The 4th of July is actually the inspiration behind the Jennifer Babydoll Dress. I wanted a cute navy gingham print mini dress that I could wear off the shoulder to a 4th of July party and other summer events so I partnered with Gibsonlook to create the perfect babydoll dress.

The Jennifer Babydoll Dress is fun, flirty and so chic with a smocked bust and statement puff sleeves. I designed it so that the puff sleeves can be worn on or off the shoulder and both ways look so flattering on the arms and neckline. I know this will be a go-to dress for parties, summer trips, date nights, wedding festivities and so much more. It’s especially perfect for the 4th of July weekend coming up next weekend.

Sizing: Be sure to size down! I’m wearing the sz XXS and it fits perfectly. The bust is smocked so it’s super stretchy! No zippers! Easy & Delicious 4th of July Cake Recipe:

Ingredients:

1 roll of Pillsbury Sugar Cookie Dough

1 container of Vanilla icing (cool whip is also delicious too if you keep your cake refrigerated)

1 container of fresh blueberries

1 large container of fresh strawberries

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350 and roll out your cookie dough onto a small rectangle cookie sheet

Step 2: Bake for 20 minutes & slice your strawberries while you wait

Step 3: Let your cookie cake cool or put in freezer to speed up the process

Step 4: Icing your cake with your vanilla frosting

Step 5: Decorate your cake in an American flag pattern with your blueberries and strawberries. Be sure to keep in the fridge until you’re ready to serve.

| 4th of July Favors for the Kids |

I filled mini tin buckets with bubbles, red, white and blue beach balls, a small American flag and a patriotic pinwheel to entertain the kids. I used chalkboard stickers to label the buckets with all of their names for a personal touch. The bubbles kept them happy and entertained along with the Jump n’ Slide bouncer that we blew for the kids to play on. I also always pull out basketball, golf, T-Ball, and corn hole for the kids to play with outdoors.

4th of July Charcuterie Board Ingredients:

Meats & Cheeses: Salami, Prosciutto, Blueberry goat cheese, Gouda, Manchego, Boursin

Fruit: Strawberries, Cherries, Blueberries, Grapes, Raspberries

Sweets: White chocolate covered pretzels, Chocolate covered almonds, Red, white & blue M&M’s, Hershey’s Cookies & Cream chocolate

For Dipping:

Nur’s Kitchen Hummus (aka the best!)

3 different types/shapes of crackers

*** We forgot to include cherry tomatoes & red bell peppers for dipping in the hummus! It’s also so good if you sprinkle feta & chopped tomatoes on top of your hummus!

All of our outdoor furnture is from World Market a few years ago. The American flag on the back patio is a size 5 x 8 and we hung it with command hooks.

We made these s’mores goodie bags for the kids with clear treat bags and ribbon and filled them with 2 graham crackers, 2 mini Hershey chocolate bars and 2 large marshmallows. Perfect little summer treat!
