Fall, Flannel & Faux Fur

Fall, Flannel and Faux Fur–the three things I look forward to every November. Well, those things along with hot chocolate, bonfires, s’mores, pumpkin spice lattes, crunchy leaves, cozy scarves, chunky sweaters…need I go on? I know, I pretty much covered it all, but today’s post is mostly about the flannel and faux fur, which I pretty much live in during the fall. I found my entire outfit at Abercrombie & Fitch from the ankle boots and distressed jeans to the plaid flannel shirt and shearling lined parka. The parka even comes with a removable faux fur hood, which I love since it rarely gets cold enough down south where I live. However, it’s perfect for the chilly weather in NYC while I’m visiting for a fun blogger event. l’m totally enjoying this crisp cold weather right now considering it’s fall and the temps stayed in the high 70s all last week back home in Louisiana. Ridiculous, I know!

Good Morning readers, in case you missed by Instagram post, I experienced quite an eventful morning at the airport yesterday. It all started when I went to check in for my flight to NYC at the New Orleans airport only to realize that I was an entire day early for my flight! However, I had plans in NYC for last night so I had to get myself on that flight. That was of course a $500 travel change! Awesome way to start the day, right? To top it all off, I tripped while rushing through security and flew through the air with my arms trapped in the strap of the bag. Thank goodness that my bag broke my fall, but the embarrassing part was that I was on a ramp so I shamefully slid down the ramp on top of my bag like penguin until I finally stopped. This all of course led to led to a dramatic laugh/cry when five people came to the rescue. I wasn’t hurt, just super embarrassed, but I did get a really good laugh out of it at least!

Good Morning readers, if you’ve been looking for the perfect cozy, boyfriend-style plaid shirt, you’re looking at it right now!  I know I’ve styled a bunch of different plaid shirts this fall, but this one is by far the coziest and best boyfriend-like shirt. It’s a much thicker material than my Rails plaid shirts so it will definitely keep you warm, and you buy your normal size and still get the boyfriend fit. I am wearing the size 0 in these photos and as you can see it still has a long oversized fit.  You can even wear it as a light jacket with a plain tee or tank. My favorite part though is that it gives you that “borrowed from the boys” look without actually having to borrow your boyfriend or husband’s clothes. I fee like this camel coat gives off that same vibe with its boxy and masculine shape, which I love.  What are your thoughts on the “borrowed from the boys” trend? Haute or Not Haute?

By the way, these photos were taken near Central Park by George Elder during my last trip to NYC for the launch of the Jenn Bucket Bag with Gigi New York. Just thought I’d fill you in case you were wondering where those beautiful leaves came from. Unfortunately, our leaves don’t quite look like that yet!

Good Morning readers, tomorrow is the big day at Emma’s Shoes in Metairie. I can’t wait to see all of you at my Halloween event featuring a handbag trunk show with MZ Wallace! In case you haven’t noticed, the Marlena Backpack is my favorite bag from MZ Wallace Fall collection right now. I feel so cool and sporty-chic when I’m rocking a backpack instead of a structured tote. Don’t get me wrong, I love all of my handbags, but when I want to go for an edgier feel I like to wear my Marlena especially when traveling. I defintely think that backpacks add that instant cool factor to your look. They make you look fun and adventurous like you might need your hands free at any given moment to do something spontaneous. However, if there is anyone who needs free hands more than adventurous people, it’s moms! I watch my “fairy” God child from time to time and I don’t know how moms carry anything for themselves at all! You’ve got the carseat, the stroller, the diaper bag, the pacifier that she keeps throwing on the ground and oh yea, the baby! What mom has extra hands for a handbag? Moms, adventurous travelers and girls who just want to add the cool factor to your look, make sure to come check out the Marlena for yourself at Emma’s Shoes in Metairie tomorrow. I’ll be there from 2-4, but they’ll have the bags on display all day! They’ll even have MZ Wallace’s newest backpack available from their holiday collection called the metro backpack.  On top of that, you will receive a delicous dessert Jar by Dani with purchase. Trust me, you do not want to miss out on these mouthwatering treats!

P.S. If the Chrissie bag in this post is too large for your everyday needs, but you love the style… you’re in luck because they make a smaller version called the Andie!

Good Morning readers and Happy Friday!  I’m so excited to announce that I will be hosting a fun Halloween event with MZ Wallace Handbags at Emma’s Shoes in Metairie, LA next Thursday, October 30th from 2-4 pm! Can’t wait to see you all there!

The Large Metro Tote: The large metro tote feels weightless no matter how much you cram inside and it comes with 3 pouches and a few interior pockets inside for easy organization! It’s the perfect carry-on bag when traveling because it’s durable, weather proof and it doesn’t weigh your shoulder down. On top of that, there is always extra room to fit a few more things inside if your suitcase is over the weight limit and if you’re anything like me, you’re gonna need that extra space to avoid paying the extra fee! I have over-packing issues!

The Marlena Backpack: So I’ve been obsessing over backpacks for a while now, but after using the Marlena I’m now on a whole new level of backpack obsession! I just love its chic and sporty vibe plus all of the pockets and compartments make it convenient for traveling as well as everyday use!

The Chrissie Tote: I originally chose the Chrissie tote because I knew it would fit my laptop which I practically bring with me everywhere, but it turned out to be far more than just a laptop bag! With all the extra room I can fit my work out clothes because I work out all the time, right? Just kidding, but who knows! Now that I can fit my workout clothes I just might start working out more!! Anyway, like most MZ Wallace bags it comes well equipped with plenty of pockets and compartments, but what I really love about the Chrissie is the extra long satchel strap for carrying on your shoulder as well as it’s sleek and sophisticated style. If the Chrissie is too large for your everyday needs, but you love the style… you’re in luck because they make a smaller version called the Andie!

Jars by Dani: You will receive a delicious Jar by Dani with your MZ Wallace purchase! All the more reason to indulge yourself in a little shopping and some Halloween treats! Right?
