B and I still lived in our first 100-year-old rental house together that actually doesn’t even exist anymore because they tore it down a couple of years ago. By this point I had been working in blogging/creator industry since February 2012 so I felt super secure in my unique career. So much has changed since 2016, but some things that have stayed the same…

Still have the same boyfriend except we’re married with 2 kids now😂
I still love designing bags with @giginewyork
Even though we aren’t traveling the world together anymore since our lives have evolved so much, I still stay in touch with these girls and have the best memories with them!

P.S. how cool that I designed the Jenni Saddle Bag in 2015 and then launched an elevated version called the Sophia bag this past year and it ended it ended being one of our top sellers! Just goes to show that trends always cycle back every 10 years!

Cooking isn’t one of my favorite things, but I always feel really proud of myself when it turns out how it’s supposed to. Also, even though I don’t love it, my friend @dashing_darlin convinced me that good cooking will always bring your boys back home to you. So as a proud boy mom I plan to master a few of their favorite dishes to ensure they’ll always want to visit home!

FRENCH TOAST CASSEROLE RECIPE via @thepioneerwoman
INGREDIENTS:
-Butter, for greasing & serving
-1 loaf crusty sourdough or French bread (I used brioche -bread)
-8 eggs
-2 cups whole milk
-1/2 cup heavy cream
-1/2 cup granulated sugar
-1/2 cup brown sugar
-2 Tbsp. vanilla extract
-Warm syrup, for serving
-1 cup fresh blueberries, for serving (add all the fruit you like &

TOPPING:
-1/2 cup flour
-1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
-1 tsp. cinnamon
-1/4 tsp. salt
-Freshly grated nutmeg (optional)— I didn’t do this
-1/2 cup cold butter, cut into pieces

DIRECTIONS:
1) For Casserole: Grease a 13 x 9 baking pan w/ butter. Chop/tear bread into chunks/cubes, & dump into pan. Whisk together eggs, milk, cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, & vanilla. Pour evenly over bread, cover pan tightly & store in the fridge until needed (overnight preferably). Or you can make it and bake it right away—it’s delicious no matter what! ** I tried both ways so I can confirm that truly tastes just as good both ways.
2) For Topping: In a separate bowl, use a fork to stir together flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, & some nutmeg.** I didn’t add nutmeg* Add the butter and use a pastry cutter to mix it all together until the mixture resembles fine pebbles. Store in fridge.
3) To Bake: preheat oven to 350°F. Sprinkle topping over the entire casserole. **I even mixed mine a round a little. Bake for 45 minutes for a softer, bread pudding-like texture or for 1 hour or more for a firmer, crisper texture.
4) Serve with warm syrup & berries. I also added whipped cream!

Happy New Year & Happy Birthday to our favorite tennis player, leaf blower & daddy!

Every January 1st I always say how grateful I am for the year and that I look forward to what the new year has in store for us. However, this past year was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced and while I could easily say it broke me, I can also say that it shaped me and strengthened me. This year challenged me and brought me to my knees, but it also reminded me of how lucky I am to have this incredible community and village. And what’s so unique about the village that surrounded me during this difficult year is that it was all started by my dad and mom of course too. Because he was kind to people and went above and beyond for everyone around him, it all came back to him. The way you all prayed over us, cooked for us and did anything you could to make us feel your love wasn’t just because you felt bad you felt bad for me. It was a ripple effect. It started with a simple act of kindness. Thousands of you messaged me to tell me how my dad brought you joy whether he coached you, danced with you or even made you a coffee. So my word for 2026 is kindness. Go out of your way to make people feel seen and loved and heard because it will all come back to you when it matters most.

And honestly I’ve only continued to see that ripple effect keep working its magic. I can’t wait to see what God has planned for us in 2026!

P.S. If I have any advice for you after this experience with losing my dad on hospice in our home… know that it’s okay to feel joy and sadness at the same time because it’s the joy that is going to get you through those dark times. And it helps your kids to see how to keep living and pushing forward even when it feels hard. My dad was laughing and smiling until his very moment here on earth and it showed me that everything was going to be okay.

Side note: I had “send out Christmas cards” on my list of goals for 2025 and I almost didn’t, but thanks to my friend @lanaconcepts_ who swooped in last minute and created these absolutely beautiful Christmas and New Year cards!

Answering your most-asked questions about my dining room…

1) The paint colors are Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee and Farrow & Ball French Gray.

2) We started the design process of the room with the rug first. We picked a Turkish Oushak Rug made with angora wool from @parvizanfinerugsnola.

3) Our furniture is from @bassettfurniturela & @galeriesacadiana. The chairs were custom made with this fabric to match our rug.

4) Our drapes were custom designed by @designer_drapery. We used a faux silk instead of real silk so we could afford to add more trim and passementerie.

5) We added this printed drape between the dining room and butler’s pantry to create some separation and give the dining room more exclusivity.

6) @lorisperierart painted this 48 x 60 abstract piece after color matching the paint with the wall paint and other fabrics used in the room.

7) We purchased this mirror for the first house we ever bought 8+ years ago and we still love it. Comment “SHOP” and I’ll DM you the link.

8) These silver plates with Blake’s family crest on it belonged to his great great grandparents and were passed down to us. I had them framed at Michael’s to hang in our dining room.
