Perforated Booties + Off The Shoulder Blouse

Hi everyone, today I’m styling one my favorite shoe trends: perforated booties. In case you missed it, I featured these tan, peep toe booties from Sole Society in a recent blog post, which are just as cute as the perforated booties in today’s post. However, what I like most about the peep toe booties that I’m wearing here is the trendy perforated detail. It adds some texture and gives them a slightly cooler and more casual vibe. They look great with jeans and even better with a pair of cutoff shorts.

For today’s look, I styled my booties with this amaze off the shoulder blouse and some cropped white denim for a chic transitional outfit into spring.

White Jeans + A Camo Hat

Hi everyone, let me just start off by saying that white jeans and a camo hat is one combo that I never even imagined myself wearing, but I think that’s exactly why I love it. Sometimes it’s fun to experiment with different pieces in your closet and dress up in outfits that you wouldn’t normally put together. Mixing things up in your wardrobe allows you to better explore your style plus it might bring out a side of you that you never even knew existed.

Also, while we’re on the topic of taking wardrobe risks, I always hear people say the phrase, “I would love to wear that, but I could never pull it off!” I always respond with, “Says who?” For real though, who is telling you that? I bet that you’re only one telling yourself that and my advice to you is…get over yourself! Who cares! Wear what you want to wear and own it and that’s exactly how you pull something off!

At first, I was so nervous to pair these white jeans with sneakers and a camo hat that I would normally wear to the gym. I thought that maybe it was too edgy for me, but then I realized that I was the only one telling myself that I wasn’t cool enough to pull it off! So I put the look together, made it my own and guess what? I loved how I felt it in! All I had to do was put it on with confidence and that’s all you have to do too!

What is an outfit that you’ve been wanting to try, but haven’t had the guts to give it go? I dare to you to do it and let me know how it turns out! Just remember that no one ever made fashion history by following the rules!

Charleston Trip Review

Hi everyone, today I’m sharing my Charleston trip review from my recent girl’s getaway! Scroll through this post for my top recommendations on dining, hotels, sight seeing and where to “wine” down!

Where We Stayed:

We stayed at the most adorable boutique hotel in Charleston, the Zero George Hotel. We lodged in the main house on the third floor so every morning we would just walk right downstairs for complimentary breakfast and coffee. Speaking of coffee, Zero George offers free coffee, lattes, espresso and cappuccinos 24 hours a day! If that isn’t amazing enough, they also offer daily bike rentals and host a complimentary wine and cheese hour for their guests every afternoon. The servers personally deliver wine and cheeseboards to your room or balcony for you to enjoy.

As for the Zero George restaurant, we didn’t get to experience their dining menu, but we only heard wonderful things about it from both locals and tourists. Also, they close their restaurant every Monday night to host a cooking class that you can book here—> Charleston Cooking classes

In case you missed my Instagram posts, this past Charleston trip was one for the girls, but I would love to come back here for a romantic weekend with Blake! It is among the most darling towns I’ve ever visited!

Where to dine in Charleston:

Poogan’s Porch | Be sure to order the pimento cheese fritters as an appetizer and a side of the mac & cheese! It’s heavenly! Almost as heavenly as their fried chicken sandwich!

Poogan’s Porch Famous Buttermilk Biscuits Recipe:

Ingredients: 1 cup sifted self-rising flour | 1 tsp. baking power |1 Tbsp. sugar | 1/4 cup shortening | 4 oz. buttermilk (room temp)

  1. Mix flour, baking powder, and sugar thoroughly— cut in shortening until mix forms course crumbs.
  2. Add 3 oz. buttermilk and mix. Add additional buttermilk until desired consistency is met.
  3. Place dough mixture on a floured surface for kneading and pat dough to 1/2 inch thickness and use biscuit cutter.
  4. Place biscuits on lightly greased baking sheet and bake 350 degrees for 12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. Brush biscuits with melted butter!

Xiao Bao Biscuit | I’ve one word you…SPICY! If you love spicy asian fusion with southern food, this is your go-to joint!

Paw Paw Restaurant | Their CAST IRON POTATO GNOCCHI is delightful especially with a side of truffle fries!

Raw 167 | Do yourself a favor and order the Crispy oysters!

Darling Oyster Bar | We were so bummed that we didn’t get to eat because the menu looked amazing, but I’ve already added to must-do list for the next time that I visit! Everyone raves about this place!

Snob | We didn’t get to actually eat here, but we heard this place was fabulous!

Sugar Bake Shop | one stop shop for coffee & freshly-baked cupcakes!

The Watch Rooftop Kitchen at The Restoration Hotel | This restaurant definitely sits right around the top of my food list because their BLT, shrimp rolls and house-made chips were absolutely delicious! In fact, I haven’t stopped thinking about my meal there because it was that good! Plus you get the best rooftop view while you eat!

Wardrobe Staple: Tan Peep Toe Booties

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Today, I’m sharing why tan peep toe booties are a year round wardrobe staple especially if you live in the south because let’s be real here, we literally only had five days of real winter this season. With that being said, it’s hard to put together outfits when it’s 75 degrees outside in the dead of winter. It’s way too hot for over-the-knee boots, but you also don’t want to rock flip flops in February either. This is where peep toe booties come in and save the day! They’re the perfect mixture of every season and highly recommend this tan color because it’s a year round neutral color that goes with everything. You can wear these tan peep toe booties with jeans and a sweater or you can wear them with little dresses and shorts. Scroll through this post to see how I styled these booties with an easy transitional outfit from winter into spring.
