Hello Everyone!  I hope you all thoroughly enjoyed your weekend, but it’s back to work on Monday.  Speaking of work, this is an outfit I chose because quite a few people requested some new, chic, work wear looks.  They enlightened me that they would not want to strut any bright colors till the end of march so I put together a few transition pieces!  The white blazer is actually a boyfriend blazer, but with the help of a thin belt it was easily turned into a fitted, business-like, yet feminine blazer making this outfit instantly chic!  The skirt from express is so comfortable and the taupe color is very versatile making it an easy transition piece into the spring.  This particular skirt may a little too short for some of you being that I am only 5 ft tall.  Despite its reputation you can actually find some work wear gems at Express.   Beneath the white blazer I am wearing a sheer, black Patterson Kincaid blouse over a black tank, but any black blouse would work for this outfit.  I chose nude pumps since I am short and wanted to lengthen my legs a tad with the taupe skirt and nude heels.  I like to feel tall and empowered at work!  All of the pieces of this outfit are fairly inexpensive except for my purse, but I believe in investing in one nice, black leather bag that can easily go day to night.  To me, a nice leather purse is a staple item that every woman should own.  However, if you aren’t ready for that just yet, there are plenty of cute inexpensive handbags out there.   As far as jewelry, I think all you need is a simple watch, necklace, one cuff or bracelet and your basic rings to keep a classic, clean look.  I again used a matte red lipstick to pull the whole look together.  I am just loving this Shanghai Express shade!  What did you wear to work today?

P.S.  These photos are from the rainy, freezing cold photo shoot hence the umbrella.

Also, if you noticed…my hair looks a little fuller because sweet Courtney Johnson from Rigsby Frederick salon, inserted a few hair extensions into my hair.  She did a great a job and she is super precious.  I just might have to feature her as an F.I.F!

Hi everyone! I’m so sad that weekend is at its end, but here is an outfit post to cheer you up!  These pictures are from the freezing cold, rainy day photo shoot.  As you can see my hair is looking a little dreary, but I think the red high low skirt really takes the stage in these pictures anyway!  The color just pops and I think the printed top and black ankle wrap heels kind of adds some edge to the outfit.  I’m wearing two cuffs from Banana Republic that I bought for 40% OFF!  What a DEAL!  I suggest keeping up with their coupons and promotions because you can get some awesome deals and steals there.  I applied some red matte lip stick (suggested by Jade Younger) to pull the whole look together.  In a previous post I talked about high low hems adding a dramatic effect to the outfit and turning heads.  What do you think?  Would this skirt catch your eye?

Here is a Sneak Peak of the next outfit post with F.I.F, Gretchen Barnes:

Hey Everyone, I’m so excited that Valentine’s Day is coming up because I love dressing up for holidays and special occasions.  I actually have a photo shoot that day with Max, but I’ll be celebrating the next day with my wonderful boyfriend who has been super supportive of my fashion blog.  I love him for that!  Anyway, during the next photo shoot we’ll be incorporating color blocking and colored denim into the outfits with F.I.F, Megan Discon.

Max sent me the photos from yesterday’s freezing cold/rainy photo shoot and they actually turned out pretty awesome except for my hair.  Rainy weather doesn’t do my hair any good.  Although, I do have to say he really outdid himself this time.  It doesn’t even look like we’re in Baton Rouge.  Gretchen looked flawless in all of her photos.  Can’t wait for you to see her.  I got her to audition to model for NOLA Fashion Week.  Wish her luck!

Here is a sneak peak for the next outfit post inspired by Valentine’s Day of course:

In reference to the style board, any of those items would make great Valentine’s Day presents or add a little flare to your V-day outfit.  The red Forever 21 blazer would go perfect with a white tank or blouse and the hot pink jeans.  If you aren’t crazy about wearing red or pink clothing, but still want to play into the V-day theme try painting your nails with the red Butter London nail polish.  I haven’t work it myself yet, but Jade Younger has informed it’s a must have beauty product.  I personally love the hot pink blazer, lace dress and nude pumps with the bow detail! What are you wearing for Valentine’s Day?

JewelryStella and Dot,  J. Crew,  David Yurman, Michael Kors,  Tory Burch,  Karma necklace

Hey Everyone, the inspiration of the outfit above came from the movie Confessions of a Shopaholic.  Unfortunately, Rebecca Bloomwood (Ilsa Fisher) and I have quite a bit in common.  My friends always laugh at me because I usually come home with a ton of shopping bags just like in the picture above.  I of course always give them a little fashion show of all my purchases while they sit there and say things like “Jennifer, Oh my gosh! you did not need both of those tops!” or my boyfriend will say “Jenni! How much did that cost!?”  My response to my friends: “Yes, I did have to get both tops because the pink looked so good on and teal will go perfect with these new white jeans!  So you see, I just had to get both!”  As for the response to the prices of the items:  “Umm… I don’t really remember.”  or  “I promise I got it on sale!”   I can’t help it!  I love to shop!  That is why this fashion blog is such a great outlet for me!  It has opened so many doors and opportunities for me!  I really want to say thank you to everyone who has been giving been encouragement and advice especially Brighton Keller for helping me launch this blog, Jade Younger all the way in New York who has been giving me daily encouragement and  fashion tips (can’t wait to feature her as an F.I.F) and  Jessica Ramirez for coming over before every photo shoot to help put all of my outfits and accessories together.  There are so many other people I’d like to thank and I will in my next few posts, but right now I’m pressed for time.  I’m starting my new job.  Yep, that’s right I’m a full time student with 2 jobs and fashion blog! Busy Busy!

On another note, the photo shoot at 8 am today went terribly because it was freezing cold and raining.  Thank goodness Max is a superb photographer and Gretchen looks great in any scene.  Max ended up getting some great shots and I can’t wait to post Gretchen’s F.I.F next week!  Hopefully the photo shoot this coming Tuesday with F.I.F (Megan Discon) will run more smoothly! Have a great Friday everyone!!
