Good Mornings readers!  Immediately upon receiving this Amanda Uprichard dress I pictured a formal outside summer wedding.  I can see this stunning silk ruffle maxi making a hit at a beach wedding or a formal summer event with nice outside setting.  Not only is the dress beautiful, feminine and bright, but the light weight material is also practical to help beat the summer heat.  My favorite part of of the dress is the detail to the high low hem that makes the dress flow behind you and sweep the floor while you walk giving you that perfect poised and elegant look.  Oh, and how about that beaded collar necklace from Forever 21!!  Can you believe it’s only $14!  What a steal!  It’s just the right piece of jewelry the dress needs to have all eyes on you!

Good Morning everyone!  This is the exquisite jewelry from Bijoutiere I told you about a while back, and I’m so excited to finally share it with you.  Jewelry designers, Donna Guidry and Mary Irwin of California sent me a few pieces from their Spring 2012 collection to feature on my blog.  I find that these particular collections are very easy to style into your everyday wardrobe.  The designs I chose to feature are casual customized pieces that you can add to any ordinary outfit for a fun unique flair.

Bijoutiere provides their customers with quality handmade jewelry giving each piece its own individual and feminine touch.  Designer duo Donna and Mary really take their service above and beyond by making themselves available to design “custom pieces that are as individual as you” (www.bijoutiereinc.com).  I actually own a necklace from Bijoutiere that was custom designed just for me as a Christmas present from someone I’m very close with, which makes it very special to me.

Donna’s one of a kind designs have even made appearances in movies, TV shows, commercials and on celebrities such as actors, Sasha Pieterse from Pretty Little Liars, Boo Boo Stewart from Twilight and Kirsten Storms featured in Runway magazine.

The bracelet and earrings above are from their Hot Roks collection which is one of my favorites.  Donna and Mary were so sweet to gift me this pair of earrings and a Faith and Hope necklace so you’ll be seeing them in quite a few of my future outfit posts!

I hope you enjoyed my post about this fabulous jewelry line.  Donna’s career story really serves as an inspiration to me, not because she is a jewelry designer, but because she started out designing jewelry in a small town called Bogalusa, Louisiana and took her dreams to the next level.  She now resides in California with her own company and sells to multiple retailers and to customers through her online web site. AND not only does she design jewelry for celebrities; she’s quite the celebrity herself.   She’s appeared in movies, TV shows, commercials and has even done some modeling.  Her jewelry line is definitely worth checking out.  Make sure to see her collection at http://www.bijoutiereinc.com

Work Wear- day to night

Good morning everyone!  I hope you all had an excellent Valentine’s Day.

           Yesterday, I featured Gretchen in some casual work wear and today’s post is about how to take that look from day to night by just adding a few simple things.  First, Gretchen took down her hair and applied some lipstick to freshen up her look.  Next, she threw on a peach, boyfriend blazer and some nude heels.  Then, to complete the look she pulled a sequin clutch out of her work tote!  How simple is that!  If you like to freshen up a bit before having a few drinks after work without going home first, I recommend keeping these four items on hand:

1)   Boyfriend blazer – I think boyfriend blazers make any outfit look effortlessly chic.  I personally like colored blazers like my peach one that Gretchen is wearing pictured above, but a black or navy will do just fine!  Click (here) to find an inexpensive, colored blazer from Forever 21 to achieve the look!

2)   Nude pumps– To me, nude heels go with everything and even lengthen your legs.

3)  a Clutch–  I suggest keeping a fun colored clutch in your work tote to dress up your outfit; plus you won’t have to lug around large tote bag all night.

4)  Lipstick– I believe that lipstick is essential to completing your look.  It brightens up your whole face.  I like wearing colors that really pop like: Nars Heat Wave, Nars Shanghai Express or Fever by Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Creme.

Just to update you, yesterday’s photo shoot with Fashion Inspiration Feature, Megan Discon, went perfectly!  We couldn’t have asked for more beautiful weather!  Now I’m on the search for my next F.I.F.  Please feel free to email me if you know someone with an impeccable fashion sense who would enjoy being featured by Haute Off The Rack!
