Tips For Packing Made Easy

Hey everyone, today I’m sharing tips for packing made easy or you can always just hire Rachel Adams who gave me these tips! Speaking of packing, I just made it to Rhode Island for North East Style Week and I’m wishing I would have followed these tips because I totally failed my suitcase. Rachel recently helped me pack for New York Fashion Week and she did such an amazing job that I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to pack again without her and I mean I clearly can’t! You should take a look at my giant over-packed suitcase right now with “nothing in it” if that makes! I’m sure all the over packers know what I’m talking about!

When it came to getting me packed and ready for NYFW, I thought I was doomed because I had only  one day in between my Colorado ski trip and New York. Thank goodness that Rachel came to the rescue. I basically told her all of the pieces that I definitely wanted to wear as well as my entire NYFW itinerary. Then she worked her magic and went through my entire closet to help me put all of the looks together for each show and party. She even helped me choose backup outfits in case I changed my mind about a certain look. We also took pictures of every look so I could refer to them in my phone throughout the trip. I’m aware that I know how to style looks and pack outfits myself, but when you have a lot going on in your life, packing for special occasions can be stressful. So it’s super nice to have someone like Rachel step in and take over.

P.S. You may recognize Rachel from TEC, but when she’s not working with The Elizabeth Chronicles, she’s keeping people organized & stylish! Scroll to the bottom to see some of the looks that she helped me put together for New York Fashion Week.

Quick Wardrobe & Packing Tips from Rachel:

– Have a rough itinerary of your trip and pack accordingly. Also, it never hurts to add an extra piece, or two.
– Always check the weather when packing!
– Try and fold your outfits together in your luggage.
– Go through your closet at the end of every season, & purge
– If you can’t decide if you should get rid of something or not, revisit the piece in six months. If you haven’t worn it since then, toss it.
– I find it helpful to organize my closet my type, cut & color. For example: Tops, Sleeveless, blue.
– Don’t keep your shoe boxes if you don’t need them. They take up too much space!

Anyway, back to Rhode Island, I’m so excited to be here, but I’m super exhausted from 5:30 am flight. Not to mention the God-awful turbulence we experienced from the wind in DC. Y’all I’m talking Tower of Terror style! I just had to close my eyes and pray! I survived of course and am already sprawled out across the bed in my hotel room.
