Designing my very own handbag with Gigi New York has been like a dream come true for me and I cannot thank their team enough for making the Jenn Bucket Bag possible. For more on the design process, check out my interview from when we first launched the Jenn Bag this past fall here–> The Debut of The Jenn Bucket Bag & Jenn Bucket Bag Travels to NYC

Read my interview below for deets on the new colors for Spring 2015!

Describe your favorite feature of the Jenn Bucket Bag.

My favorite feature of the Jenn Bucket Bag is that it has both a short shoulder strap and a removable crossbody strap for convenience. I also love the texture of the embossed python body with the smooth pebble trim for added details.

We love the color Desert Rose for Spring! What made you pick this color from our new collection?

I am obsessed with all things pink right now especially blush! Honestly, I’ve been waiting for this bag in the Desert Rose color since we designed the Jenn Bucket Bag this past fall.

Describe 2 places you think you’ll take the Jenn Bucket Bag in Desert Rose

I have already taken my Jenn Bucket Bag in Desert Rose on a mini staycation at the Le Meridien Hotel in New Orleans and the Southern Hotel in Downtown Covington. I’ve also taken it out to my favorite café, Abita Roasting Co. for coffee and King Cake before running errands. However, I hope to take the Jenn bag on quite a few exciting adventures throughout 2015! So stay tuned for #JennBucketBagTravels!

How do you make this color transition from late winter to early spring?

The Desert Rose color is definitely considered a neutral with its gorgeous blush tone, which makes it super easy to transition into new seasons. The new Harbor Blue color is equally beautiful and can easily fit into the neutral family as well. Lately, I’ve been pairing mine with my distressed denim, ankle boots and my sleeveless trench or ivory moto jacket for a refreshing transitional look that still keeps me warm. Once spring officially arrives, you’ll see me toting around my Jenn bag while wearing espadrilles, cutoffs and beach cover-ups!

We know you have carried the Jenn Bucket Bag (in other colors) for some time now. Do you like the new colors we chose for Spring?

I of course still love my Stone and Navy bucket bags for Spring, but I’m so excited to incorporate these new pastel colors into my wardrobe! Like I mentioned earlier, I’ve been waiting for these soft spring pastels since fall.

I’m On The King Cake Diet!

Good Morning readers, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I apologize for my lack of blog posts lately, but it’s only because I’ve been working on some exciting new projects to share with you for both Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras starting with today’s post! Krystal from A Pinch of Lovely and I teamed up to throw the ultimate Mardi Gras Balcony Party which of course includes: Randazzo’s King Cake, Mimosas, King Cake flavored coffee, Decorative cookies, White Elephant Design Cups, Mardi Gras masks and plenty of beads to throw! Oh, and we can’t forget the Zing Zang, which is essential to the best Bloody Mary recipe! Stay tuned for deets on our fab Bloody Mary station and recipe later this week!

In case you didn’t notice, the balcony we partied on is nice and big, but super narrow so we didn’t have any space for a food and cocktail table. We got to thinking about some alternative options for a table and I came up with the idea of brining the bar cart outside! The bar cart worked perfectly because we could easily wheel it out of the way when needed and we didn’t have to keep running in and out of the house to refill our drinks or grab more cookies. However, we kept the King Cake close by on the yellow pouf near our chairs so we could conveniently stuff our faces. During Mardi Gras, it’s totally acceptable to wear all gold and live on the King Cake diet. In fact, there is even a shirt for that saying! The Elizbeth Chronicles created the “I’m On The King Cake Diet” tee just in time for Mardi Gras! They have a ton of other cute Mardi Gras tees too! Check them out here–> TEC tee shop

Head over to A Pinch of Lovely for details on Krsytal’s look!

Make sure to check back later this week for the ultimate Bloody Mary station and recipe!

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I’m excited to announce that Part II of my New Orleans Girl About Town feature is now live on the Glitter Guide. Check it out at www.theglitterguide.com to get the scoop on my favorite local restaurants and my ideal Saturday night in New Orleans. In case you missed the first feature, you can check it out here–> Part I of My Stay at The Le Meridien New Orleans

I wore this chic trench coat with dark grey jeans and a pair of ankle boots to check-in to the hotel. My favorite part of the trench coat is the color. I’m really into all shades of pink right now especially blush or pastel pink. Also, there is no better time to wear pink than around Valentine’s Day! It’s a nice light weight so you can wear it well into the spring.  I can’t wait to wear it with all white!

Hi everyone, in case you missed Day 1, Day 2 Day 3 and Day 4 of our FQ Stylecation, I will fill you in! I teamed up with Krystal of A Pinch of Lovely and Juley of Upperlyne & Co to give you five whole days of New Orleans fashion, food and fun just in time for Mardi Gras! We’ll tell you all of the snazziest places to drink, dine and wine (oh and sleep) in New Orleans.

French Quarter Stylecation:  (noun) /stīl/ + \vā-ˈkā-shən, və-\ = a style guide on what to wear to all of the snazziest places to eat, drink, party and sleep in New Orleans!

I hope you enjoyed our cooking class from Day 4 at the New Orleans School of Cooking! You’ll have to let me know if you attempt the recipe for New Orleans Style Grits and Grillades!

On Day 5 of our French Quarter Stylecation we strolled through Royal Street and eventually made our way to the Bevolo Gas and Electric Lighting show room.  The front of the venue gives off a stunning glow from all of the gas lights that line the exposed brick walls.  I can only imagine how beautiful the venue looks decorated for a wedding or rehearsal dinner! I’m not even engaged yet, but I still keep that idea in the back of my mind. Anyway, in the back of the showroom you can watch the coppersmiths hand-create their famous gas lamps and even learn the history behind Bevolo, which as been around since 1945.

Before dinner, we glammed ourselves up a bit with the help of hairstylist, Courtney Johnson and headed to Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse on Iberville Street.

We started off the night with some of Dickie Brennan’s specialty cocktails in one of their six private dining rooms. They hid us in a private dining room to avoid us scaring off customers while standing on our chairs to take pictures of the delectable dishes! Speaking of delectable dishes, our Barbecue Shrimp & Grits and Fried P&J Oyster appetizers blew me away! I mean, I’ve eaten fried oysters many of times, but something about that McIlhenny Chipotle Tabasco cream sauce  just does me in!

My fresh and crisp wedge salad did not disappoint!

Anytime Krystal and I dine at Steakhouses, we never order the steak! We actually usually either order the same dish or split our meal. However, Dickie Brennan’s appetizing selection of nightly specials and sides encouraged us try a few new plates. Krystal ordered the osso buco special and sautéed mushrooms and I chose the steamed Maine Lobster and grilled asparagus. I may or may not have eaten the entire Lobster!

Chef Sara delivered our main courses herself along with the help our amazing waiter, Roy.  She even brought us our own paper chef hats to wear. I’m sure you can tell how we felt about that from the expressions on our faces below!

After dinner we enjoyed triple chocolate cake for dessert in the main dining room with Roy so that we could experience both atmospheres of the restaurant.

In case you’re wondering who those random men are in the photo below, they’re exactly that– random men in town for a conference in New Orleans who insisted on joining our dessert photo session. They were were cracking me up with all of their silly pose ideas!

You didn’t think we were going home after dinner on our last night in New Orleans, right? I didn’t think so! Even though we were stuffed from dinner, we knew we couldn’t leave the French Quarter without visiting Pat O’s also known as the Piano Bar for some sweet Hurricanes and a little late night fun on the courtyard.
