Hair & Makeup by: Courtney Johnson and Ashley Sievert 

Good Morning readers, as promised here is Part II of my Haute Summer Makeover.  (In case you missed the first post, you can view it here–> Haute Summer Makeover Part I)  I had so much fun getting pampered by hairstylist, Courtney Johnson and makeup artist, Ashley Sievert!  They are so incredibly talented and such a pleasure to work with.  Remember the first time Ashley did my makeup last summer? See post here–> Haute Off The Rack Gets A Makeover By Ashley Sievert.  I was so amazed by the results that I bought everything she used on my face and had her give me a makeup application lesson.  I even hosted a fun beauty event with her at a local boutique in Baton Rouge where she offered makeup application lessons and complimentary touchups using her own line of face makeup.

For the fancy nigh time look of my makeover, all Ashley did was add a bright fuchsia plum lip color and touch up my blush and voilà! Don’t forget you can shop her own makeup line here–> Ashley Sievert Beauty.  Her Mineral Velvet Creme has a lightweight feel, but it still gives you maximum coverage plus it’s oil free and hypoallergenic.  Did I mention that it’s waterproof??! Hello Summer! It’s perfect for this hot sticky weather because it lasts the whole day until you take a makeup remover wipe to your face!  Also, Ashley’s concealer adapts to every skin type and color.

Courtney’s Updo How-To: In order to achieve Jenn’s elegant updo, I first had to back comb (tease) the hair to get maximum volume. I then gently combed her hair to smooth out any frizz she may have gotten from the back combing. Once her hair was nice and smooth, I pinned the top sections into a half up, half down hairstyle. From there, I grabbed sections from the nape of her neck and rolled each individual section of hair into a “curl”. I used a bobby pin to secure each curl section by pinning the curl to her roots and then securing it by placing another bobby pin diagonally over the other. This left her with 5 “curl” sections that gave her an elegant and classy updo that is fabulous for an evening event or even with  just a sun dress on a hot summer day! If this updo looks bit too challenging for you take on all by yourself, you can always make an appointment with Courtney at Rigsby Frederick Salon in Baton Rouge, La.
