How I Keep a Piece of Italy in My Home

Hey everyone, today I’ve teamed up with Torresella Wines to share why it’s the perfect wine for sharing, along with some fun facts about its authentic Italian heritage in honor of the Venetian Carnival Season currently taking place in Italy. Not only are Torresella Wines delicious, but I also love being able to have a little taste of Italy at home. It brings me back to the beautiful summer two years ago we spent traveling all over Tuscany, Florence, Venice and Rome. I actually included some of my photos from my trip to Venice in this post. I thought they were very fitting for today’s post, considering that Torresella is the wine of Venice. During Springtime, Venetian Carnival takes flight and comes to life. The carnival is meant to celebrate history, artistry & the beauty of Venice.

My Top 3 Venetian Carnival Facts

1) Once a year Venice goes back in time and transforms itself into a giant masked party for all. I love thinking about everyone celebrating in this beautiful city because it reminds me a lot of my own city here in New Orleans. Venice and New Orleans have a lot of similarities within their culture and love for celebrations.

2) The Venetian Carnival became an official Venetian public holiday in 1296.

3) It used to last six weeks, from December 26 to Ash Wednesday. We also celebrate Mardi Gras Carnival season here in New Orleans until Ash Wednesday and Fat Tuesday has also become a public holiday in southern Louisiana.

The most important carnival traditions are the three festival flights over Plaza San Marco’s bell tower: the Flight of the Angel, symbolizing beauty, the flight of the eagle symbolizing strength and the flight of the lion symbolizing majestic power of city.

Three flight mascots explained:

  1.   Angel – a woman elected the year before in a contest to find “most beautiful Maria” in Venice.
  2.   Eagle – always an athlete or talented artist that shows strength and mental perseverance.
  3.   Lion – actual venetian flag that is welcomed by choir singing the San Marco Anthem.

I love serving the wine of Venice to guests in my home in hopes that the Venetian traditions will inspire us to step away from our daily lives and embrace our Venetian state-of-mind.

My Top 5 Favorite Netflix Shows

Hi everyone, I hope you’re all having a great week so far. Today I’m sharing my top 5 favorite Netflix shows with World Market. My favorite thing do with my husband when I get home from working off site is to throw off my heels, put some snacks out and watch our favorite shows on Netflix. It’s our favorite way to wind down after a long day. I like to pick up snacks from World Market because they carry unique foods and wine along with all the home decor we use in our living room and kitchen.

My Top 5 Favorite Shows on Netflix:

1) The Office | I don’t think I’ve ever been so attached to a show that I actually cried in the end. We watched it every night until the very last episode. Sometimes we would accidentally stay up until 1:30 am watching it. We always heard that The Office was amazing, but we could never get past the first episode because it seemed kind of dry and blah, but once we got to know all of the characters, we couldn’t stop laughing.

2) Parks and Recreation | We actually just started watching Parks & Rec and the humor is similar to The Office. I can’t say I love it as much as The Office, but it’s still pretty funny. Chris Pratt cracks me up.

The minute I get home, I always throw my pajamas back on because I like to be extra comfortable when I’m lounging around the house.

3) New Girl | This show is hands down one of the most hilarious shows I’ve ever watched. I even had to pause it at times because I was laughing so hard. My favorite character was either Nick or Winston, but Schmidt came in really close. Did you watch New Girl? Who was your favorite character and what was your favorite episode?

4) Jane The Virgin | I definitely like this show more than Blake does, but that’s because main character, Rafael is so hott! He could even turn the most basic sentence into the sexiest phrase you’ve ever heard…”The cable guy is gone.” If you’ve seen this show, you know exactly what I’m talking about. If you haven’t, just you wait! LOL In addition to Rafaela’s smoking bod, the show is very sweet, yet thrilling and hilarious. In case you haven’t noticed the pattern here, I tend to stick with funny shows.

5) Friends | If you don’t watch Friends, you can’t sit with us! Jk! Haha! But for real though, I don’t think a day goes by that I don’t quote Friends or relate it to a situation in my life. If you follow me on Instagram stories then I’m sure you’ve seen me do this multiple times. My favorite character used to be Joey, but lately Phoebe has been cracking me up. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve watched all 10 seasons of Friends. I watch it every night before I got to bed if Blake falls asleep before I do and I play it in the background while I work during the day just for extra noise since I work alone. LOL Also, I like to watch it while I’m traveling to make me feel like I’m at home before I go to bed.

This organic salted popcorn is so good, but my favorite is the sweet and salty flavor.

Hey everyone, as promised I am sharing an initial update on my CoolSculpting results. I just scheduled my follow up appointment to take my standard “after” photos, but I can already see the results on the treated areas with my own eyes.

In case you missed my first post “My First Coolscupting Experience,” I mentioned that I received my first treatment at the Lupo Center for Aesthetic and General Dermatology in New Orleans. I also explained that I did not choose to get CoolSculpting treatments because I don’t like my body. I love my body and only want to mold it into its best potential shape, which I’m sure is a feeling that most of you can relate to. You can read more about it here—>My First Coolsculpting Experience (OR) you can also check out the video on my IGTV.

Just to refresh your memory…CoolSculpting is a non-surgical, non-invasive, clinically proven treatment that reduces fat cells through FDA-cleared cooling technology. It’s a comfortable, fat freezing process with long-lasting results!

I treated my lower abdomen and both flanks, which most people refer to as a muffin top. I got four cycles: one on each flank (aka both of my love handles) and then two on my lower abdomen to cover the full area. As I mentioned before, I just want to mold my body into its best potential shape and I truly believe that CoolSculpting along with fitness and healthy eating has helped me achieve that. It takes about three months to see the full results and I already was seeing results on my trip to Paris. You can definitely tell a difference when I wear more form fitting clothes. Take this dress for example, you can see where my waist appears slimmer and less volume in the lower abdomen area.

I’ve gotten so many messages from you lately asking about the results and I will definitely share my standardized “after” photos on my Instagram after this next appointment. However, I’m sure that you can already see a difference in these photos of me in a bodycon dress that I wore in Paris. I am so pleased and impressed with the results and I can’t wait to see the side by side photos and share them with you.

Please let me know if you have any further questions about my experience and I will be sure to add my answers to this blog post. Also, let me know if there is anything you’d like me to ask the nurse during my next appointment.

These floral appliqué clutches made the the perfect gifts for my bridesmaids. The design was inpisred by my New Orleans garden glam themed wedding.

This personalized ring box is the perfect holiday gift for your newly engaged friends! I teamed up with GiGi New York to create this custom leather ring box right after I got engaged because I realized that I didn’t have anything small & secure enough to travel with to keep my ring in while I wasn’t wearing it. I also like to keep it on my nightstand for when I’m sleeping for showering.
