What to Wear in Paris This Fall

Hey everyone, today I’m teaming up with Nordstrom to show you and your guy what to wear in Paris this fall. If you aren’t heading to Paris this season, don’t sweat it! We can all use a little Parisian style back at home anyway.

I’ll be doing a full travel blog post on Paris, but here is a peek into what we wore during our trip. I brought plenty of mini skirts, boots and hats to incorporate into my outfits. I especially loved wearing berets and fiddler caps along with my midi boots and over the knee boots.

Blake packed mostly boots with the exception of some sneakers. For outerwear, he brought a few different bomber jackets and hoodies along with dark colored jeans so he could create multiple looks with only a few different pieces throughout the trip. 3 Key Trends for Women this Fall:

1) Fiddler Caps & Berets

2) Leather & Plaid

3) Pointy Toe Boots

3 Key Pieces For Men This Fall:

1) Slim Fit Jeans

2) Chelsea Boots

3) Bomber Jackets

If you’re heading to Europe soon with your husband or boyfriend, I also recommend packing a flowy dress for yourself and a dress shirt for him along with some nice pants. Why? So you can capture some beautiful photos together of course. We traveled all through France and Italy together and there were so many beautiful spots to take photos so I highly suggest you take advantage of this. Blake’s striped blue shirt was perfect for our professional photo shoot. Plus it’s a great shirt to wear year round. Nordstrom offers a wide selection of dress shirts for men under $100.

How to Give Your Home a Cozier Feel for Fall!

Hey everyone, I know it’s been a while since my last blog post, but Blake and I were traveling through France for a few weeks and then we were faced with a family tragedy when we returned home. So my priorities shifted for bit, but I’m back now and I have lots of amazing content planned for you this fall and holiday season. Today I’ve partnered with World Market to share three easy ways to give your home a cozier feel for fall.

| Shop My Living Room |

Faux Fur Stools | Linen Bench | Velvet Floor Cushions | Gold Printed Cowhide Area Rug | Mongolian Sheepskin Area Rug | Gray Velvet Throw Pillow | Gold Mirrored Table Top Tray | Macrame Tote Basket | Gold Splatter Print Faux Cowhide Throw Pillow | Everette Foyer Table | Liketoknow.it Coffee Table Book

1)  Warm Furry Blankets! What sounds cozier than a warm, faux fur blanket…nothing, right? That’s why blankets are the best items to start with when it comes to preparing your living room for fall. World Market offers plenty of different types of throws, but I always go for the faux fur ones. You can never have enough blankets in the fall and winter especially when you invite guests over. Plus they instantly give your house a more chic and “homey” feel. I especially love this Diamond Faux Fur Throw.

I also recommend the Sackcloth & Ashes blankets because they help provide blankets to homeless shelters. Any time you purchase a Sackcloth throw blanket, another one will be donated to a shelter in need. Each blanket is crafted of thick, warm fabric with fringe detail at both ends. With a beautiful neutral color palette of tan, cream and brown with powder-blue accents, this throw has a Southwest-inspired arrow motif that adds warmth, figuratively and literally, to any space.

2) Fluffy Throw Pillows! Once you’re good to go with blankets, I’m sure you knew that throw pillows would be next! I just got these gold splatter cowhide throw pillows to update my living room, but I’ve also been having these Mongolian faux fur throw pillows for a few years too. If you already have too many throw pillows on your sofa and chairs, I also love these faux fur stools for extra seating or foot rests.

You can also dress up your current ottomans, chairs or benches that you already own with one of these Mongolian sheepskins rugs. I’m draped sheepskin rug over a linen bench that I’m currently using as a coffee table until I pick one out. As soon as I find a coffee table that I love, I’m going to move this bench over to my dining table for additional seating.

3) Storage Displays and Baskets! Where else did you think you were going to put all of these extra beautiful pillows and blankets? Surely not hidden in a closet? No! You need these cozy accessories on display. This gorgeous macrame tote basket is perfect for storing all of your warm winter home accessories.

For all the other things that you don’t want on display, I recommend this beautiful white and gray lidded basket. These kind of baskets make it easy for you clean up quickly when you’re unexpectedly surprised with guests.

Our Saturday Morning Tradition

Happy Friday everyone, Blake and I are gearing up for National Coffee Day tomorrow with Jockey by serving up some serious blueberry pancakes. One of our favorite Saturday morning traditions is making breakfast together. I’m usually in charge of the coffee because I tend to burn everything on the stove or in the oven, but I also help with the little things too…like taking the blueberries out of the fridge. LOL

Blake’s Look: Cotton Modal Stretch Boxer Brief & Pima Cotton Crewneck T-Shirt  c/o Jockey

Jenn’s Look: Signature Modern Mix Bralette & Signature Modern Mix Boxer c/o Jockey

We usually get up pretty early to make breakfast and lounge around the house in our pajamas before getting dressed for the day. I love wearing my Jockey Signature Modern Mix boxers paired with a bralette under my robe or cardigan. I have them in a  bunch of different colors that I mix and match with each other. I even have a few of the cropped tees in different colors that I love wearing around the house.

Blake just wears a pair of boxers with a comfy tee. We recently got him some of the new Jockey Cotton Modal Stretch Boxer Brief and cotton crewneck t-shirts, which he loves wearing because he says they’re super comfortable. The boxers also come in a bunch of different color packs too.

All our black white dishes are from MacKenzie-Childs.

3 At Home Date Night Ideas

Hey everyone, today I’ve teamed up with Nordstrom to share three at home date night ideas with you. I even convinced Blake to join in on the fun! Although, it wasn’t too hard once he learned that pizza that would be involved considering that is one of our favorite kinds of at home dates.

| Shop Our Looks |

Blake’s Outfit: Black Stretch Skinny Jeans | Jersey Hoodie (we also like this Slub Hoodiehoodie pullover) | White T-Shirt

Blake’s entire at home date night look is from Nordstrom. It’s easy to find full outfits for B at Nordstrom because they offer such a wide variety of styles and sizes for men. I picked out this jersey hoodie for Blake while I was shopping for our upcoming trip to Paris because I thought it would be great for traveling or even just wearing around the house.

Jenn’s Outfit: Wayf Posie Strappy Cami | Barefoot Dreams Circle Cardigan | Articles of Society Jeans (similar here)

I can’t get enough of these strappy camis from Nordstrom because I get such a use out of them year round. In fact, I actually own this same cami in five different colors. I love pairing them with oversized blazers and cozy cardigans in the all and then mini skirts and cutoff shorts in the summer.

3 At Home Date Night Ideas

 1) Cook a new dish together! | I know that sounds cliché, but I don’t just mean for you to cook your usual taco Tuesday casserole. Instead, try a brand new recipe like maybe a dish from another culture like Japanese sushi or Spanish paella! Then make an appetizer or dessert to complement your dish. Our friends actually made us paella at our last dinner club meeting, which brings me to second part of this idea…start a dinner club with your friends where you each take turns hosting dinner parties at your homes. That still counts as a date night at home, right?

2) Build a fort & watch your favorite childhood movie! | I know what you’re thinking…we aren’t kids anymore, why would you want to make a mess in the living room? Well because building forts in the living room with all the blankets and pillows in the entire house is of one of my favorite childhood memories so why not recreate those memories as an adult especially if you have kids. They’d love it. We don’t have kids yet, but I’m a kid at heart and the thought of cuddling up under a sheet tent with popcorn and snacks in front of my favorite childhood movie sounds like a magical night. I love anything Disney! Blake’s favorite childhood movie is actually “Dances With Wolves.” LOL! Strange I know, but he said he used to watch it every day as a kid!

3) Fancy Take Out! | Last but not least, kick off your shoes after a long day at work and order in! We always like to order pizza with ranch of course. Light some candles and pop open a bottle of rosé to give the night a fancier and more romantic feel. Then wind down and pick out a movie to watch or start a new show together on Netflix. We just started watching “Jane The Virgin.”
