Disco Cowgirl Party Decor Ideas
Howdy y’all! I threw an epic Disco Cowgirl themed party this past weekend for my Eve Parade krewe and we had an absolute blast. Everyone’s costumes were amazing even the guys too because yes, we decided to includes the cowboys!

In case you missed it, I started my own Mardi Gras krewe/float in the Eve Parade this year, which is an all female parade on the Northshore in Mandeville. This year it has doubled in size so I’m super excited to ride in it next month on Friday, February 10. More details to come!
Anyway back to the party…Since I’m the lieutenant of my float I thought I would throw a fun themed party to kick off Mardi Gras season to get everyone excited. Usually I host King Cake tasting party, but this year I decided to kick things up a notch and go with a cool trending theme: Disco Cowgirl.

Disco Cowgirl Party Decor Ideas

Balloon garland by @thegracefulhost.shop

@gloevents_bychloe did such an incredible job with this entrance into the party. I love how she lined the stairs with candles and disco balls and then draped pink and white baby’s breath over the staircase that cascaded all the way down to the floor. I had @thegracefulhost.shop hang a curtain of silver streamers with valance at the top to transition this simple staircase into the perfect photo backdrop.

@gloevents_bychloe hung all of these disco balls from the ceiling and then wrapped them in pink and white baby’s breath to tie in the pink color and give it some added texture.

I love how @gloevents_bychloe also used the pink baby’s breath to create this beautiful tablescape complete with pink sequin runners, disco balls and and pale pink candles.

How fun are these huge light up letters that say “BOOGIE” for the dance floor? We rented them from @alphalitneworleans.

Huge thanks to Buddy Love for providing all of these super cute outfits for me my and friends to wear to the party! Buddy Love knows how to do Disco Cowgirl right! You can take 15% OFF all of our looks along with your entire purchase using code: HAUTE15

We rented an adorable self serve champagne bar from @corksandconfettirentals and it was such a hit at the party especially when the bar was backed up! I highly recommend renting one of these carts for your next event for your guests to enjoy. It’s also perfect to place at the entrance of your party for your guests to grab as they walk in. You can use it as a self-serve cart or you can hire a bartender to work the cart.

We had a full service bar outside, but we also served two specialty cocktails: a Yeehaw Margarita and a Disco Cowgirl Paloma | How cute are these disco ball drink stirrers? We hot glued tiny pink hats to a few of them to go with the theme.
Unfortunately, I don’t have photos of the mouth-watering food, but I hosted the party at Meribo where they serve delicious pizzas and pastas!

Fun Fact: Blake is wearing the same suit he wore for our wedding five years ago as his costume with some snakeskin cowboy boots that he got from amazon and a western belt buckle. He bought his cowboy hat from a local western store, this one (here) is similar.

Kismet Cosmetics Glitter Bar

The party featured a glitter bar by @kismetcosmetics where my guests could get their faces bedazzled with my exclusive glitter blends: Stardust & Haute Boogies Nights. We also offered lip touch ups, which was perfect for photos and you could even purchase the glitter and lip colors too. This was such a cool feature of the party that we actually already booked them again for parade day! Super fun for bachelorette parties, kids parties, music festivals, concerts, big events and especially Mardi Gras

360 Photo Booth

The 360 photo booth that we rented from @b1studiollc was hands down, the best part of the party! We had so much fun dancing and making videos in the photo booth. I highly recommend booking a 360 photo booth for your next big event because it encourages your guests to have fun and get creative. It really helps them let loose and gets them excited to get back on the dance floor. They’re also hilarious to watch the next morning. It was seriously such a blast! I keep trying to think of reasons to throw another party just so I can use the 360 photo booth again.

I’m obsessed with these rhinestone cowboy boots! They were absolutely perfect for the party, but they would also be so much fun for concerts, bachelorette parties, Nashville trips and even Vegas! If you’re a bride, don’t even hesitate for a second to get these boots because trust me, you need them! I also linked to some other snazzy boot options below.

What I’m Packing for Labor & Delivery
Happy Friday everyone, I’m officially 38.5 weeks now and feel like I can go into labor any day now so I thought I’d share everything I’m packing for labor and delivery. These are my tried are true products that I packed for the hospital last time or at least wish I would have packed the first time.

This blue and white smocked dress is so cute with a bump, but will also be so pretty for post baby too.
What I’m Packing for Labor & Delivery:
Ritual Prenatal vitamins | Their prenatal includes 12 essential nutrients with high quality ingredients your body can actually absorb. I love the no-nausea capsule design so I can take my in the morning or night. Other prenatal vitamins made me nauseous or just made my stomach hurt. @ritual prenatal vitamins are vegan certified and have no shady additives, fillers or colorants. They feel gentle and easy on my stomach while helping support every stage of pregnancy. They offer free-shipping are delivered straight to your door with their easy monthly subscription service. Take 10% OFF your first 3 months with code: HAUTE
Calm gummies | The Calm gummies are a must! They’re a magnesium supplement and work even better than Colace in my opinion. Not only do they soften the stool, but they also regulate you. Also, drink plenty of water, apple juice and pineapple juice to help you in that department too.
Blanket, personal pillow & pillow case | I highly recommend bringing your own blanket and pillow from home for extra comfort. Just be sure to use a different colored pillow case on yours so you know which one is yours and can spot it before you leave.
YL Essential Oils & Diffuser | Lavender & Calm to help relax and Peppermint in case I get nauseous. I also packed Thieves Hand Sanitizer because I like how it doesn’t dry out your hands.
Silverette Nursing Cups | Wear these in between nursing to soothe & protect your nipples. It uses the properties of silver to promote healing.
Honest Nipple Balm & Contact Nipple Shields | Both of these products were lifesavers last time. Use the Nipple Balm in between breastfeeding and you can use the Contact Nipple Shields to help the baby latch if needed if you’re in a lot of pain while nursing. Just make sure to get the correct size for your nipples or they aren’t as effective.
Fuzzy Grip Socks (or) Cozy Slippers | Stay cozy in your socks slippers, but make sure they have a nice grip to avoid slipping falling since your balance may be a little off.
Stretchy disposable underwear & comfy nursing bras | The hospital offers some great disposable underwear, but in case they’re out, I really like this pack of Stretchy disposable underwear. Plus you can use them at home after or these adult diapers.
Dermoplast | They will likely have Dermoplast for me at the hospital, but since it’s the key to relief when it comes to using the bathroom, I packed my own just in case. I highly suggest that you have a second bottle of this at home to use because it is vital especially if you tear like I did and have stitches.
Frida Peri Bottle | They will provide you with a peri bottle, but I like the angle of the Frida one more.
Hanging Toiletry Bag | You may want to pack your shower essentials, hair tools & makeup to look decent to snap a few photos the following day after birth. I like this specific toiletry bag because I can just leave it hanging in the bathroom at my convenience.
Frida Postpartum Kit or Frida C-sections recovery Kit | These kits have almost everything you need for a comfortable healing process.
bobby pins & scrunchies to keep my hair out of my face

My own towel & dry shampoo in case I don’t feel like washing my hair there. Speaking of showering, I also packed a pair of flip flops to wear in the shower because I’m really weird about sanitation and showering in public places.
Large Refillable Water Bottle | The hospital will offer you a water cup, but I like to have my own too that has a handle and straw.
Comfy robe & 2 pairs of nursing-friendly pajamas | I also like this short sleeve nursing pajama dress for when it’s hot. I also packed one printed robe to potentially wear for day after photos if I’m feeling up to it.
Cute Outfit to wear home & comfy sandals | I packed this light blue dress with functional buttons because it’s nice and loose and nursing friendly. Some people prefer compression outfits and that is definitely understandable after a c-section, but I preferred loser outfits. Also, your feet might be a tad swollen so I would pack some comfy sandals to wear home.
XL phone charger & USB extension cord | I suggest bringing an extra long phone charger that will reach to your bed so you don’t have to get up and down if you phone dies.
JBL Speaker| If you want to set a calm and relaxing mood with the some music, don’t forget a speaker. This JBL speaker is nice and compact so easy to pack and the clip feature makes it convenient too.
Tripod | If you have a tripod, bring it along for self timer photos & videos especially if you don’t have a photographer and it’s a great way to capture those first sweet moments. This tripod is only $25 and folds up super small so great for packing along.
Extra: plastic bags for dirty clothes and mints to suck on for nausea
I also packed all of our snacks in Blake’s bag because clearly I didn’t have any more room left in mine.

| Shop What I’m Packing for Labor & Delivery |
1. Peri Bottle | 2. Calm Gummies | 3. Dry Shampoo | 4. Travel Tumbler | 40 OZ | 5. Scrunchies | 6. Bobby Pins | 7. Fuzzy Fur Flat Slippers | 8. Button Front Maternity Midi Dress | 9. Kimono Robe | 10. Tripod Stand | 11. Anker USB Travel | 12. 6ft Lightning Cable Power Strip

| Shop What I’m Packing for Labor & Delivery |
1. Postpartum Underwear | 2. Slipper Grip Socks | 3. Dermoplast | 4. Mama Nip Balm | 5. Nightshirt | 6. Essential Oil Diffuser | 7. Nursing Bra | 8. Leopard Throw Blanket | 9. 2 Towel Set | 10. 2 Bed Pillows | 2 Pillow Cases | 11. Medium Metro Tote Deluxe
Thank you Baskets for our Labor & Delivery nurses | This time I put together 4 baskets to share between the L&D nurses as well as the PP nurses. These nurses are truly angels and you’ll want to thank them with something so I highly recommend showing up with some thank you treat. Just put a little thank you note on it your last name and then ask the nurses to bring them back to the nurse station once you check into your room.
What We’re Packing for Baby for the Hospital:
Baby Knotted Gown | I love the gowns that come with matching hats because they look so precious on them. I also prefer the knotted ones so you can fit it better to their little bodies.
Muslin blankets | We love using these blankets as swaddles and to cover the baby’s little mattress like a sheet at the hospital for photos.
Sound Machine | The sound machine isn’t just for the baby. It also helps us sleep too by drowning out some of the hospital noise.
Letter board | I packed this little 10 x 10 letter board to use for photos with all of the baby’s birth info on it. I already had his name filled out on it ahead of time so I just had to fill in the details like date, time, inches and weight. This is what we used for Beck.
Boppy Nursing Pillow & Protective Cover | This made breastfeeding so much easier because I didn’t have to hold him up, I could just prop him up on the pillow.

Custom Name Sign | Using a custom name sign is such a sweet way of announcing the baby’s name to everyone.
Personalized Knotted gown from Caden Lane | Caden Lane makes such beautiful swaddles, gowns and blankets, which are perfect for announcement photos.
Night Light | A nightlight is nice to keep in the bathroom instead of having to turn on the light and wake each other up.

Swaddle Up | This is one of our favorite swaddles that we used for Beck. I’m not sure if we’ll actually use in the hospital because the nurses are always so great about swaddling the babies in blankets, but we packed it just in case.
MAM Baby Pacifier | We packed a few different pacifiers to try with the baby because you never know what they’re going to like. Beck ended up loving the MAM pacifiers.
Side Snap Bodysuits | These side snap onesies are perfect for middle of the night changes with newborns because they having things pulled over their head and these you can just wrap around them and button.
Coastal Blue Crosby Traveler | We packed everything for the baby in this MZ Wallace bag that I already owned because it has so many pockets and compartments that it makes the perfect overnight bag for baby.

1. Side Snap Bodysuits | 2. Swaddle Wrap UP | 3. Convertible Car Seat and Stroller | 4. Baby Swaddle Blankets | 5. Baby Knotted Gown | 6. Wooden Name Sign | 7. MAM Baby Pacifier | 8. Portable Sound Machine | 9. Coastal Blue Crosby Traveler | 10. Minky Nursing Pillow Cover | Boppy Nursing Pillow | Boppy Water-resistant Protective Cover
For Blake:
Blanket, personal pillow & pillow case
towel | the towels at the hospital are super tiny so it’s nice to bring one from home
Nice Shirt for photos
Pajamas
Toiletry bag with toothbrush
Snacks | You know I packed all of our favorite snacks to eat after the baby arrives like Oreo thins, Doritos, Milano Cookies and some kind bars. I also packed some orange Gatorade in hopes that the electrolytes will help my milk come in faster.

MY SIZING AND HEIGHT FOR REFERENCE:
Most people don’t realize how petite I am and I understand that knowing my sizes can help you determine what size to get.
I am 5 ft and I wear a size 27 in high waisted jeans and smalls in leggings. I’m currently a 34B and take size XS/S in dresses and tops, smalls in sports bras, and XS-S in outerwear.

Button Cardigan Duster with side Slits | If you want one of these duster cardigans, I highly suggest scoping yours up today because these will sell fast! This button front cardigan is a wardrobe staple and is such a versatile piece. You can wear it casually with jeans and loungewear or dress it up with heels and skirt or faux leather shorts.
Also, the buttons are functional so you can wear it as a dress too! Just be sure to size up if you want to wear as a dress
As for the design details, we created it with two side slits to give it plenty of movement and this ribbed fabric is so soft and cozy!
Sizing: I suggest going true to size or even sizing up one if you plan to wear it as a dress. I can absolutely fit in the XS, but I prefer the small or even the medium for a looser and flowy fit.

Jennifer High Waisted Fitted Joggers | These legging-like joggers are so comfortable and flattering! They have jogger details with the cuff at the bottom and side pockets, but they fit like leggings! Perfect for lounging, everyday wear and even traveling.

This dress is going to be a best seller so snag it fast if you want it! I love the tie front detail so I don’t have to think about sucking in the whole time I’m wearing it. Also, it really brings in your waist and is so flattering.
Sizing: The Jennifer Ribbed Tie Front Midi Dress runs generous in size. I highly recommend sizing down. I am wearing the size XXS. Also, for my pregnant gals, this dress is super stretchy so it’s super bump friendly!

Jennifer Surplice Wrap Cinch Dress | This dress is so chic and sexy for a girls night, fancy date night or even a wedding guest dress. I designed it with an adjustable tie at the slit so you can make it higher or lower and a clasp at the bust that you can leave open or closed. I added the shoulder pads because I love how it gives your upper body a triangular shape, which gives you the illusion of a tinier waist and who doesn’t want the illusion of a smaller waist in a bodycon dress, right?!
Sizing: I highly recommend sizing down in this dress because it’s super stretchy and the ruched stomach helps conceal the belly area. I can wear both the XS and XXS, but I prefer the XXS because it holds the stomach area in better. Also, for my pregnant gals, this dress is super stretchy so it’s super bump friendly!

Outfit: Sleeveless Surplice Ruched Cinched Dress (wearing sz XS –designed by Haute Off The Rack in collaboration with Gibsonlook)— Take 15% OFF with code HAUTE15| Shoes: Augstine Heel | Handbag: Medium College Chain Bag

Jewelry: Hudson Necklace | Big Spender Necklace | Idol Hoops | Holland Cuff Bracelet | Paris Luxe Demi Cuff
_____________________________
Jennifer Padded V-Neck Tee | Just like the cinched dress, this padded shoulder tee also gives you those inward lines, which draw your eyes to the waist and give you the illusion of a smaller waist. Also, shoulder pads are right on trend for this season and elevate your everyday looks.
Sizing: I suggest going true to size in this tee. I normally wear an XS or S in tops and I took an XS in the top and it fits great.

Outfit: Sleeveless Hi Lo Ribbed Mock Neck Tank (wearing sz XS –designed by Haute Off The Rack in collaboration with Gibsonlook)— Take 15% OFF with code HAUTE15| Suede Miniskirt| Shoes: Chinese Laundry Everley | Handbag: Gucci Horsebit 1955 mini bag

Jennifer High Low ribbed mock neck tank: I designed this tank with a split on the side and a high low hem to create the perfect mock neck tank to wear with high waisted leggings especially faux leather leggings! I don’t know about you, but I always feel so exposed in my faux leather leggings so I like to wear tops that cover my backside, but are still flattering to the legs. The split on the side really lengthens your legs and you can even wear it over skirts too. I also like to tuck the front in and leave the back out for a more dramatic effect.
Sizing: I suggest going to true to size in this top. I’m wearing the XS.

The Haute Off The Rack x Gibsonlook Collection with be available in XXS-2XL
Scroll through this post for a few sneak peeks of the collection and some behind the scenes.

In case you’re wondering how the design process works, here is a summarized step by step list:
1) I do tons of trend research and review personal sales reports to develop a successful design concept. I also look through my own wardrobe to see what it lacks. Then I put together an inspo board, list out all of the design features and style details, and submit my wishlist to the Gibsonlook team. I always keep my #hauteofftherack girls at the forefront of my mind during the entire process.
2) The Gibsonlook design team takes these ideas, creates a design deck, and makes up the first set of samples, trend concepts, and color palette schemes for next steps.

3) For the last year of collaborating, we went back and forth mailing samples and swatches, but since this Collection is big, I traveled to LA in April, where The Gibsonlook design team presented the initial result of my Concept Collection to me. It was hands down one of the coolest experiences of my life! I have always wanted to have a meeting in a conference room and the fact that it was all for me featuring my designs was a dream come true all in itself. When I walked in the room, they had all of the beautiful samples hanging on a rack with inspiration boards and design decks printed for everyone to reference during the meeting. All of the samples were ready for me to feel, alter and try on. We had so much fun working the collection all afternoon from reviewing fit needs, selecting fabrics, and discussing what the perfect HOTR Collection would include. You all came up a lot during the conversation because ultimately we want you to feel happy, confident and beautiful in our clothes.

4) Following the in-person meeting, the second samples were made with all the necessary changes and shipped to me for a round of edits. Usually, I wear the pieces around once I receive them to get a good feel for the item, and then I film feedback videos, and samples are adjusted accordingly. We pay a lot of attention to the fit styling to ensure the items reflect your wants and requests. The Gibsonlook team uses their expertise to ensure the scale works from XXS to 2XL and is inclusive to a broad audience.
5) After all changes have been completed, final samples are sent to me for approval.
6) Once I receive the final round of samples, I travel to an aesthetically pleasing shoot location that reflects the vibe of the collection! I was supposed to go to NYC this past week to shoot the Collection, but Hurricane Ida came barreling through at a category 4 and devastated all of southeast Louisiana, including my hometown. I am so fortunate that the Gibsonlook team is hosting me along with 5 other influencers to shoot and launch the Collection this upcoming week. We’ll be able to show you the pieces on different body types so you can reference them for fit.

7) When we arrive at the shoot location, we unpack & organize looks for shooting. A ton of planning, prepping, outfit styling, and location scouting go on behind the scenes during this time. I have a lot of help from my assistant to make this all possible. I’m so excited to have the Gibsonlook team along with 5 other talented content creators involved in this shoot as I’m usually shooting along with my photographer and assistant.
8) Steam, steam, and steam! I also layout all of the selected shoes, handbags, and accessories for the shoot. We style all of the looks beforehand and photos of them, so we know what goes with what.

9) Create content with photographers for my blog, Gibsonlook website and social media. We always choose a location that best highlights the overall vibe of the design. An aesthetically pleasing background + natural light is key to a successful launch!
10) Everything comes to life when the Collection finally hits the site! The best part is getting to see the Collection on my friends, family, and you of course! None of this would be possible without you all, so thank you!!
