Top 5 Tips to Shopping The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017

Hi everyone, I can’t believe that we’re only days away from the most anticipated sale of the year: the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017! This sale is known for offering some of Nordstrom’s top pieces like the BlankNYC suede moto jacket, Vince Camuto Booties and the AG Ankle Legging Jeans from last year! I love the Anniversary Sale because Nordstrom isn’t just marking down items that didn’t sell over the summer, they’re selling brand new closet staples and on-trend items at unbeatable prices.  It’s the ultimate time to go crazy on pre-fall denim, booties, jackets, Zella leggings, handbags, shoes, you name it! With that being said, I’ve taken my past experiences and put together my top 5 tips to shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017 to help you fully maximize your shopping experience.

1) Key dates to know:

July 13th: Early access begins
July 20th: LAST day of early access
July 21st: Public access begins
Sale ends August 6th!

2) Get an early start!

All the best items usually sell out within the first few days of “Early Access” so getting early access is obviously a must!! All you have to do to gain early access is sign up to be a Nordstrom Card Holder. I signed up with Nordstrom about four years ago and it was the best decision I could have ever made for my shopping habit. Sign up for Nordstrom Credit here and if you sign up by July 9th & spend $100 the day you’re approved, you’ll also receive a $20 Nordstrom Note, which is essentially a gift card to Nordstrom.

If you aren’t able to sign up until the day of the sale, not to worry because Nordstrom doesn’t require you to have you card in-hand to gain early access. Also, you’re a Nordstrom Rewards member, you’ll get rewarded every time you shop!

3) Do your research & map out a plan!

When I say “do your research,” I mean study the 2017 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Catalog and make a list of everything you want for your future fall wardrobe. Then narrow the items down to your favorite pieces and create a budget according to that list. However, keep in mind that you can always return items, so don’t be afraid to go a little over your budget because once an item is gone, that’s usually it. It’s very rare that they restock the bestsellers. If it happens to you though, don’t lose hope because remember that other people return things too.

4) Shop online!

You don’t live near a Nordstrom? No problem! Neither do I! Fortunately, the best way to shop Anniversary Sale is online because it allows you easily navigate all of the sale items and categories. Plus why would you get dressed and leave the house when you can everything in your pajamas on the couch! LOL

Additionally, their online shipping and return policy is amazing because they offer both free shipping and returns. So you’ve got nothing to lose! Plus I’m heading to Houston for the sale to do all of the leg work for you!

5)  Use me as your guide!

I am heading to Houston this week to scope out the sale early and will be reporting to you live from the dressing rooms in Nordstrom! Just be sure to follow along with my Instagram stories (@hauteofftherack) as well as my blog post updates and I am happy to answer any of your questions about sizing, quality as well as my overall opinion.

5 Items I recommend investing in during the sale each year:

1) Zella leggings

2) A few pairs of neutral colored booties

3) Designer denim

4) Fall jackets

5) Designer Handbags

My Recent Stay At The Pointe

Hi everyone, today I’m sharing a travel review of my recent stay at The Pointe located on 30A. In case you aren’t familiar with 30A, it’s a beautiful highway of beaches that stretches from San Destin all the way to Panama City, FL. This highway is sacred because it is home to some of the most breathtaking beaches you will ever see in Florida! I’m talking crystal clear, blue water, soft white sand, dreamy boardwalks and private communities. All of the neighborhoods have their own little towns with boutiques, resorts, restaurants and activities for the whole family like bike riding, boating, sailing and jet skis just to name a few.

I’ve stayed in San Destin a number of times, but this was my first time ever staying in Inlet Beach, which is within walking distance to both Rosemary Beach and Alys Beach…oh and Donut Hole! Haha! In fact, we actually stayed right across the street from Donut Hole in the luxury condos at The Pointe Resort. Our resort was amazing because it’s brand new and the condos are gi-normous! We stayed in the a three-bedroom condo complete with a full kitchen, living room, dining room and two fabulous balconies that overlooked the pool. Oh and I can’t forget mention that luxurious bathrooms and walk-in closets. My bathtub was huge and I could even see the TV from it! Talk about relaxing!

As I mentioned, The Pointe is fairly new to Inlet beach so they are still slowly rolling some of their new amenities like their full-service restaurant that will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I think that guests will really enjoy the on site restaurant especially if they don’t plan on cooking because the local dining spots fill up fast. However, if you’re traveling with a large group, the kitchen has everything you need for preparing meals as well as a barbecue grill on the back deck of the pool. The resort also features a rooftop lounge and bar that overlooks the 30A skyline and soon enough they will be soon be a poolside drink service as well.

Last but not least, The Pointe will have a full coffee service bar available all hours of the day!

White Jeans + A Camo Hat

Hi everyone, let me just start off by saying that white jeans and a camo hat is one combo that I never even imagined myself wearing, but I think that’s exactly why I love it. Sometimes it’s fun to experiment with different pieces in your closet and dress up in outfits that you wouldn’t normally put together. Mixing things up in your wardrobe allows you to better explore your style plus it might bring out a side of you that you never even knew existed.

Also, while we’re on the topic of taking wardrobe risks, I always hear people say the phrase, “I would love to wear that, but I could never pull it off!” I always respond with, “Says who?” For real though, who is telling you that? I bet that you’re only one telling yourself that and my advice to you is…get over yourself! Who cares! Wear what you want to wear and own it and that’s exactly how you pull something off!

At first, I was so nervous to pair these white jeans with sneakers and a camo hat that I would normally wear to the gym. I thought that maybe it was too edgy for me, but then I realized that I was the only one telling myself that I wasn’t cool enough to pull it off! So I put the look together, made it my own and guess what? I loved how I felt it in! All I had to do was put it on with confidence and that’s all you have to do too!

What is an outfit that you’ve been wanting to try, but haven’t had the guts to give it go? I dare to you to do it and let me know how it turns out! Just remember that no one ever made fashion history by following the rules!

World Market Rug Haul

Hi everyone, today I’m sharing my World Market rug haul! In case you missed my office closet tour, I used quite a few home decor accessories and furniture from World Market to decorate my office with including all three of my rugs pictured in this post. I purchased the Ivory Moroccan Style Wedding Blanket Wool Area Rug to place beneath my white desk, which is also from World Market and I got the sheepskin area rugs to drape over my white molded chairs. I love how the sheepskin rugs give my modern chairs a hint of glam and they also pair perfectly with all of the gold accents in the room. Speaking of gold accents, I actually spray painted the chairs legs gold to keep with the luxe theme. See more rugs that I love from World Market below!
