So Long Winter Wear!
Today we’re saying to so long to turtlenecks, over the knee boots and pretty much all winter wear because even though spring hasn’t officially arrived, it basically feels like it has in Louisiana. I actually just made the switch from fall/winter to spring/summer in my closet last night. I boxed up all of my sweaters, boots, outerwear and cold weather accessories in large clear containers and stored them away in a separate closet. However, I did leave out this lightweight jacket for styling easy transitional looks.

Happy Friday everyone! It’s going to be a beautiful weekend at least for us Louisianans! This is my cold weather look of the season since I packed everything away in storage and am heading to Southern California next week. First stop, Laguna Beach and then we’re off to party in the desert for My Style Diaries’ bachelorette trip in Palm Springs.

The Base of My Daily Beauty Routine
Today, I’m talking about why I consider Vaseline Lip Therapy one of the bases of my daily beauty routine along with SPF and moisturizer. True story: I was one of those kids who would call my parents at work from school to tell them my lips were chapped and I needed lip balm delivered to me stat! Did they do it? No, of course not! In fact, I was scolded for bothering them at work over chapped lips. However, little did they know that dry lips are just not a good look or feeling, which is the worst part. I can’t stand the actual feeling of dry, peeling lips. I literally keep lip therapy in every bag I own as well as in by bathroom, my car and by my bedside table. I will absolutely not leave the house without it!
I always like my skin to feel completely hydrated and moisturized so I make sure to drink plenty of water everyday as well as apply Vaseline Lip Therapy and smooth moisturizer onto my entire body before doing anything else. I’ve been this way my whole life. All my friends used to and still do think that my daily beauty routine is quite the process, but I know all of my moisturization (yes, I made that word up!) and extra hydration will pay off one day! The moisturizing portion of my everyday route is especially vital in the spring when shorts, skirts and mini dresses hit the scene.

As for my sparkly, embroidered mini dress by French Connection, I’m a sucker for an eye-catching, white mini dress in the spring. This dress is also perfect the newly engaged. Speaking of new brides, I’ve got all kinds of stunning white dresses for wedding showers and parties coming your way and they’re all available at your nearest Hemline location.
As for these stunning Aquamarine heels by M. Gemi, I absolutely love these pumps. Not only are they beautifully handcrafted Italian shoes, but they also fit like a glove and not like an uncomfortable latex pair; more like sleek leather gloves lined with cashmere. Except don’t worry these shoes are most definitely not lined with cashmere! Haha!

Spring Bridal Shower Invitations
Hi everyone, today I’m sharing the spring bridal shower invitations that I created with Minted for the shower I’m hosting for my best friend this weekend. I even threw in the personalized thank you cards for the bride because they were just too pretty to pass up! Just to give you a little back story, I’ve only been wanting to be a maid of honor for my whole life so I’m sure you can imagine how I excited I am being that this is my first time. I even used to randomly text my friends like a freak and double check that I’d still be their maid of honor if they got married tomorrow because I’m ridiculous like that. I live to plan things though. It’s my specialty so of course it makes sense as to why I love planning parties, events, trips and staged photo shoots for my blog! I love all of it from the themed decorations and flower arrangements to the delicious food and extravagant cake.
However, the one thing that is not my speciality is designing invitations. I’m so jealous of all graphic design majors! If I could go back again that is most definitely what I would do. Thankfully, Minted.com makes it super easy to create the most beautiful invitations just by entering in your event information and then they take care of the printing, the envelopes and even the thank you cards! Once they arrived, which was about a week and a half after I ordered them, all I had to do was simply address and stamp them. Super easy, right? Minted also offers a variety of other invitation designs such as birthdays parties, graduations, holiday cards, birth announcements, save the dates and even wedding invitations. I hope the shower turns out as beautifully as the invitations did, but I have a good feeling it will considering all of the other 10 bridesmaids have been so amazing in doing their part.
