Save the best for last. Whether you’re spending New Year’s Eve at home with close friends and a few bottles of champagne, watching the ball drop in Times Square, or partying at an exclusive VIP event, go out with a bang wearing the best outfit you’ve got. To make your night special, I’ve put together a little New Year’s Eve checklist to help everything run smoothly.

Ladies’ Checklist
1) Ladies, instead of stressing yourself over putting an outfit together, just find a show-stopping dress. It’s an outfit all in one. Just don’t forget to accessorize.

2) Wear at least one sparkly piece of statement jewelry, like these pave tassel earrings from C. Wonder featured in F is For Fashion, and guarantee that all eyes will be on you.

3) If you’re hoping for the perfect New Year’s kiss at midnight, don’t forget to spray on some perfume to smell great all night long.  My new favorite scent is L.I.L.Y by Stella McCartney.

4) Complete your New Year’s look with the perfect sparkly or embellished clutch. Not only will it jazz up your outfit, but it’s also the perfect place to stash your makeup essentials for quick touch-ups throughout the night. Don’t forget to pack some lip balm to keep your lips nice and smooth for that midnight kiss.

Good Morning readers, are you ready for tonight? I know I am! New Years Eve is always an eventful night for me, or at least it has been for the past six years considering that it’s my boyfriend’s birthday and our six year anniversary.  This year we’ve got plans to ring in the New Year New Orleans style with some friends.  I’m not really wearing this outfit tonight, but I know how much you all love this feather skirt so I figured I’d style it for you just one more time.  I actually wore this skirt for New Years last year to the New Orleans Contemporary Arts Center and surprisingly enough, it held up pretty well.  If you want to see this year’s outfit, make sure to follow me on Instagram @hauteofftherack for an exclusive first look. I want to know what you’re wearing too, so make sure to tag @Hauteofftherack in your New Year’s photos on Twitter and Instagram!  Have a wonderful New Years Eve everyone, and please make sure to be safe and make smart decisions!

Good Morning readers, I hope you have all been enjoying the holidays.  I can’t believe they’re almost over!  However, we’ve still got New Years and I still have a few more outfit options for you including this one.  I don’t think anything screams Happy New Years louder than sequins, glitter and feathers.  So why not incorporate some of that into your New Years attire by adding a sequin blazer or sparkly clutch.  If you don’t have either of those, try a sparkly tassel earring like the pave pair I have pictured above without the blazer.  I already know you all love this feather skirt, and since it was so popular the first time I wore it I decided to style it for you two more times! What do you think of it paired with this casual tee featuring the face of Vogue’s long time editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour.  I think you can all agree that you can’t go wrong if you’ve got Anna Wintour to back you up.

Thank you so much to Lauren Pruner of PR Blonde for kicking off her new blogger feature series with Haute Off The Rack!  Check it out here–> 13 in 13 with Haute Off The Rack

Making Sequins Simple

Outfit: Sequin Embellished Shorts (Greylin <– SALE ALERT 30% oFF), Sweater with Silk Ruffle (Love), Nude Pumps (Bella Bella old, but similar (here),

Jewelry: Stainless Steel Two-Tone Watch (Michael Kors),Pave Link Bracelet (J. Crew), Natural Stone Ring (Frock Candy), David Yurman bracelet

Good Morning readers, now that Christmas is over with it’s on to New Years Eve outfits.  I still don’t have any plans yet, but I’m coming up with plenty of outfit ideas anyway so I’ll be prepared for whatever comes up!  There are so many fun ways to style these sequin shorts, but I chose to pair them with a textured short-sleeved sweater and nude pumps to give the shorts a more simple, laid back look.  This effortless, yet chic look is perfect for a casual New Years Eve house party with some close friends and a few bottles of champagne.  It’s comfortable and sparkly at the same time, plus the nude heels really elongate the legs!  Nude pumps always solve an outfit crisis and make me feel skinny.  Who’s with me?  As far as jewelry and accessories, all you need is a clutch, wrist candy, and maybe even some sparkly earrings. You can even add a simple pendant necklace to this outfit too. I had actually forgotten my necklace when I shot this look. Sorry!

If you’re looking for a dressier way to wear these sequin shorts, refer back to the first time I styled them with the Amanda Uprichard Leather Peplum top in my Shine Bright Like a Diamond Post.

P.S. Get ready to see more New Years Eve outfit options over the next few days!!

Merry Christmas!

Good Morning readers and Merry Christmas! I hope Santa treated you well this year, but don’t forget the real meaning of Christmas.  Even though we’re expecting some severe weather, just remember to enjoy  yourself and all of the time you get to spend with your friends and family because that’s what matters the most.  Although, I do still hope Santa treated you well, and I can’t wait to feature all of my new little goodies on Haute Off The Rack.

As far as my outfit, this is just a little something I borrowed from “his” closet.  The over-sized button down flannel shirt is from the mens’ section in Target.  I paired it with my white velvet AG leggings to tone down the ruggedness of the shirt and boots, and I added the white beret for an urban look.  For jewelry, I stacked on a few bracelets and layered on some simple necklaces for a nice feminine touch.  What do you think?  Would you rock your man’s shirt?

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!
