press 225

Good Morning readers, I know I’m a little late in telling you this, but like I said in my last post I’ve been in California with my family since my grandmother passed away.  Thank you again for all of your prayers and support. She will truly be missed.

On a lighter note, I can officially announce that Krystal of A Pinch of Lovely and I will be guest blogging for 225 and InRegister magazine to help promote their Avenue Rouge Runway Fashion Show that we’ll be co-hosting live on Sept. 26!

For the blog portion of Avenue Rouge, we’re holding an online Color Crash Course to help you rev up your style skills.  Each week on Avenue Rouge, you’ll learn new ways to incorporate color into your wardrobe and how to choose the best colors for your skin complexion and personal style.  The Color Crash Course will touch on shoes, handbags, apparel, accessories,  jewelry and even beauty products.

Wait there’s more!  Every Thursday we’ll post a new contest question to give one lucky fashionista a chance to win 2 Elite tickets ($200 value) to the Avenue Rouge Show on Thursday, September 26th!  Just make sure to hashtag #ARrunway and #DiscoverYourColor on Instagram and your photo will automatically be pulled into the Avenue Rouge photo gallery entries. We hope you participate and good luck!

Good Morning readers, how fabulous is the color of this Amanda Uprichard dress?  I swoon over its beautiful and vibrant hue.  I know the peplum trend has been a bit overdone lately, but this color totally drew me in and put me back under the peplum spell.  Amanda Uprichard always produces her collections in bright and colorful hues, which is one of the main things I really love about her line.  Bright-colored tops and dresses are a weakness of mine.

To accessorize the look, I added the calf-hair clutch to give the look a transitional vibe and styled it with a pair a nude heels to elongate my legs.  I kept the rest of my accessories neutral so that nothing would compete with the color of the dress or the leopard print clutch.

P.S. I’ve got some exciting news for you!  I have a big photo shoot with Krystal Bennett of A Pinch of Lovely today for 225 and InRegister’s Avenue Rouge Runway Show this September 26th! Krystal and I will be giving you special coverage all month long followed by live video coverage the night of the show.  You can buy tickets here–>  Avenue Rouge Runway

Good Morning readers, do you have an outfit you love so much that you literally have to force yourself not to wear it every day?  For me, this is that outfit! I could live in my mother denim flares, a comfy cream blouse, a long necklace and a pair of platform wedges.  It’s so bad that even my boyfriend asks “Are you really wearing that again today?” That doesn’t stop me though. I wear it anyway! Ha! What outfit do you wish you could wear every day?

**About the necklace: The necklace I am wearing in this post was actually custom made for me by Donna Guidry of Bijoutiere Jewelry. It is a gorgeous fire agate pendant with pearls, coin pearls and pyrite on a handmade wire chain.  If you are interested in purchasing one for yourself, please feel free to email me at Jenn.hauteofftherack@gmail.com.**

Good Morning readers and welcome to Day 11 of Haute Off The Rack’s Island Getaway. Have you ever seen such exquisite bead work because I haven’t?  This T Bags Los Angeles top looks more like eye candy than it does clothing.  Am I right?

The mix of the colorful embroidered beads and the crochet material is what really did me in.  I just love the way the two different textures contrast with each other.  It gives it that “Wow” factor and really draws people in.

I paired the top with some denim cutoffs, my studded wedges and minimal accessories for a fun casual look.  However, there are so many other ways to wear this top.  You can do an all white look with a pair of white jeans or shorts and you’ll have that little pop of color from the beads.  You can also wear it with a pair of dark flared denim and some heels for a dressier look.  As for accessories, you really don’t need much.  I would avoid wearing a necklace and excessive arm candy.  Instead, I would wear wrist jewelry that either blends with the white or that complements the beading.  You can also pull out a color in the bead work  by using jewelry like I did with my turquoise earrings.

Packing Tips: Packing a top like this can be tricky because of the two different materials.  It really needs to lay flat because you don’t want to put a crease in the beading.  I suggest laying it flat at the bottom of your suitcase and covering it with tissue paper to protect the embroidery and to prevent anything from snagging the crochet material.  You can also hang this top in your garment bag if you have one.
