My First Hair Color Experience!
Photos by: Kaela Rodehorst Photography
(Photos above are from before my hair color apt. and the photos below are from after)
Good afternoon readers, I hope you all had a great week. I’m having an amazing time at New York Fashion Week and I’m so excited to share one of my NYFW experiences with you today! In case you didn’t already know, I have never ever colored my hair before…ever!! So when Lucky Magazine and Aloxxi reached out to me about coloring my hair to kick off New York Fashion Week, I immediately jumped at the opportunity.
People have always told me to never put color in my hair because it was “already so beautiful,” so I didn’t, but boy was I missing out! It’s so fun—I feel like a whole new person! As you can see I didn’t go too crazy with color, but to me any added color is a drastic change! Marilyn, the Aloxxi artistic advisor did a fantastic job at creating the look I was going for, which was a very natural-looking “sombre” with a soft balayage. Since I was a “hair color virgin” prior to my appointment yesterday, Marilyn gave me a detailed description of everything that she was doing to my hair so I would feel comfortable with the process. She even explained how to use all of my new Aloxxi hair products, which smell divine in case you were wondering.
I love how Aloxxi is all about hair color personalities. My color personality is called “Seduction on the Grand Canal.” Each color has a fun unique name so that you can easily tell your Aloxxi hair color stylist the look that you’re trying to achieve. I don’t know much since I’m a hair color newbie, but I do know that I could not have asked for a better first hair color experience with Aloxxi.
Disclosure: Thank you to Aloxxi and Lucky Magazine for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.

Good Morning readers, I am so honored and excited to help launch Gigi New York’s Parker Satchel for Fall also known as the “it” bag of the season! This gorgeous structured bag is now available at giginewyork.com and it comes in five beautiful shades for fall. The color I’m carrying in today’s post is called Stone. Isn’t it amazing! I’m in love! In fact, I love this bag so much I got it in the wine color too!
Here’s what I think of the Parker Satchel….
Describe the handbag in a few words:
Sophisticated, Timeless and well-structured! Oh and incredibly functional!
Do you consider this handbag a great everyday handbag?
Absolutely! This handbag can fit everything from your phone, keys and wallet to your iPad, makeup bag and on-the-go essentials! I have never met such a well-designed handbag as the Parker satchel!
This handbag is best for….
Storing secret stashes of cupcakes and donuts during fashion… Just Kidding! But really though!
This handbag is best for the most stylish and sophisticated of women who thrive on investing in beautiful and timeless pieces.
What helped you choose this new Fall color?
As soon as I saw the new Stone color, I knew I wanted it hands down! Don’t get me the wrong, it was a tough decision considering how beautiful all of the other new fall colors are, but I knew that this gorgeous neutral shade would go with everything!
Is this style practical for the everyday woman?
Yes! The double zippered compartments provide you with plenty of storage room for larger items and the open compartments allow for easy access to your phone, keys and wallet while running around town. Also, the long strap is the perfect length to wear over your shoulder all day without weighing down your arm and cramping your style. We all know how that looks!
What do you believe the demographics for this style will be and why?
I believe the demographic for this bag will be young professionals in their late 20s all the way to women in their early 60s. Young working women will love this bag for it’s sophistication and structure and older women will appreciate its storage space and classic style.

Good Morning readers, it is currently 3 am and I hate the fact that I’m awake on top of the fact that I didn’t finish packing until 1:30 am. That’s what happens when you procrastinate the night before your 6 am flight to New York Fashion Week. With that being said I must be short because I am minutes away from leaving for the airport, but these are some items you’d find in my carry-on bag and this is one of my two outfit choices to wear on the plane today.
