NOLAFW’s Shop Your City Day Recap
I broke in my brand new pointy toe Sam Edelman Mariel Booties while running all over NOLA this past weekend.
Julia Hengel of Gal Meets Glam picks out her favorite pieces by Hazel & Florange.
Andi Eaton, the creative Director of NOLA Fashion Week and designer of Hazel & Florange
Krystal and I loved getting to meet Mackenzie Horan of Design Darling in New York and Liz Schneider of Sequins & Stripes in Chicago.
Anyone who stopped by Hattie Sparks on Shop Your City Day got to see a peek at Camilyn Beth’s newest collection before it hit the runway on Sunday.
Good Morning readers, I hope you’ve all been enjoying your week. Today, I wanted to share some photos with you from NOLAFW’s Shop Your City Day this past weekend. Here’s a little recap of the day:
Krystal of A Pinch Of Lovely and I had to wake up at the crack of dawn to get to New Orleans for 8:30 am for an early breakfast with Krewe Du Optic and the all of the guest bloggers in town. We got to try on all of the cool new shades from Krewe’s latest collection that hasn’t been released yet. I already have my eye on a few pairs that will be out this November. At the end of breakfast we each got to choose a pair of sunnies as gift from Krewe Du Optic to feature on our blogs. I chose the Toulouse Flat Black light mirrored sunglasses, which you’ll be seeing on Haute Off The Rack soon. Check out the photo at the bottom of the post to see all of the bloggers in their new Krewe shades.
After breakfast, Krystal and I headed to our complimentary hair blow out appointments at Paris Parker Salon on Canal courtesy of NOLAFW. I always love getting a deep head massage and hair wash at Paris Parker, and don’t even get me started on the delicious smell of their Aveda hair products. I just love that Air Control hair spray. Those of you who you use Air Control know exactly what I’m talking about!
Once we finished with hair and makeup, we headed over to Hazel & Florange on Chartres St. to visit with Andi Eaton and to check out Julia of Gal Meets Glam’s store picks. We enjoyed chatting over champagne and macaroons before making our way over to Haute Boutique on Magazine St. to visit with Mackenzie of Design Darling and Liz of Sequins & Stripes. We of course nibbled on a few more treats at Haute Boutique with and Liz and Mackenzie before stopping at the last two boutiques, which were Mimi Boutique with Molly & Sally Miller of A Piece of Toast and Hattie Sparks with Amy Havins of Dallas Wardrobe and Juley Thuy of Upperlyne.
Hattie Sparks was also hosting a Camilyn Beth trunk show. Krystal and I loved viewing her brand new collection before it hit the runway on Sunday. My favorite pieces were the Go Go dress and the Gabrielle dress!
More of NOLA Fashion Week soon to come on Haute Off The Rack so stay tuned!

Candy Apple Boutique is Finally Here!
Outfit: Leather & Suede Leggings from Zara | Pointy Toe Fringe Booties | Parker Floral Peplum c/o The Mix
Good Morning readers, do you remember when I used to post about the Candy Apple popup shops in NOLA? Haute Off The Rack even hosted a popup shop with Candy Apple in Covington at 311 Salon this past spring. Well, I’m super excited to announce that the Bienvenu sisters just opened their first Candy Apple boutique this past Friday, September 27th. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make the grand opening, but yesterday I got to play dress up with Candace and Cassie Bienvenu at the new Candy Apple boutique in Metarie before going to the NOLAFW shows. Their store looks absolutely amazing from the simple, yet modern lucite chairs and haircalf rug in the dressing rooms to the new logo designed by Krystal Bennett. I especially love how the accent wall in the back of the store complements the boutique perfectly. Oh, and did I mention that they have a huge bowl of Candy on the desk? How appropriate! I don’t think I even have to tell you about the clothes because I’m sure you can see in this post that Candy Apple has some gorgeous pieces right now! I wanted to take half of the store home with me!
All of the jackets and fur vests in this post are currently available at Candy Apple so if you like what you see, head on over to their new location in Old Metarie Village. I know that Candace and Cassie will make your shopping experience at Candy Apple a sweet one!
Candy Apple Boutique is located on 701 Metarie Road, Suite 1B105, Metarie, LA

Good Morning readers, I finally took the time last night to go through all of the photos to put together a recap of 225 & InRegister’s Avenue Rouge Runway Fashion Show. I’m not going to lie, hosting a two hour live stream show wasn’t a piece of cake of, but Krystal and I had a blast interviewing all of the sponsors, coordinators, boutique owners and special guests. We were honored to host such a fabulous event in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
In case you’re wondering exactly what Krystal and I contributed to the event, I’ll tell you. Basically, we hosted the pre-show from 7 pm to 8 pm, which is when we interviewed special guests and all of the people who made this event possible. Following the pre-show, we announced the main event and voiced over the runway to all of the online viewers. Funny thing, we actually watched the runway show from a monitor in a separate room so that we could talk about all of the looks to the online viewers without interrupting the show for the other guests. You can watch the live stream here–> Live Coverage from the Avenue Rouge Runway Show by Jenn of Haute Off The Rack & Krystal Bennett of A Pinch Of Lovely.

Outfit: Garbe Luxe Moto Leggings via The Mix | Joie Booties | Twill Jacket c/o H&M | Hayden Satchel c/o Gigi New York | ASOS Leather baseball cap (borrowed from Abbey) |
Good Morning readers, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I had a great time covering Shop Your City Day in New Orleans with Krystal from A Pinch Of Lovely and hanging out with all of the guest bloggers in town for NOLA Fashion Week. I’ll post a recap of the weekend later this week.
Now, about this bag…I’m sure that by now you know that the Hayden Satchel is my “it” bag for the season. I even featured it on my WBRZ News segment this month, which you can view here–> Haute Off The Rack’s Fall Five. Everything about this bag is perfect from its emerald green color and rich textured embossed leather to its roomy size and convenient cross-body strap. Even though it’s still super hot here in Louisiana, Abbey of District Dress Up and I wanted to give you a fall preview of how to style these gorgeous emerald green Gigi New York bags for everyday wear.
I styled my bag with a pair of olive green moto leggings, a cream J. Crew top and a twill jacket from H&M. For shoes and accessories, I wore some taupe suede ankle booties to brighten up the look and a black leather baseball cap for a hint of edge.
Head over to District Dress Up to see more on how she styled her Gigi bag!
