Summer Home Decor Update
Hey everyone, if you follow me on Instagram (@hauteofftherack), then you know that I made a few updates to our living room this past spring with Caitlin Wilson Design and most recently we added some new furniture to our front porch. I based the whole living room color scheme off of a painting of Italy that I had commissioned by Christina Fontenot Art.
Just to give a little background on the artist, I met her through a mutual friend and fell in love with her gold textured pieces of art so when we finally bought our first home two years ago, I asked Christina to paint 3 gold oysters for our dining room. We loved them so much and got so many compliments on them that we asked her to create one for the living room too! I wanted the new painting to reflect something significant in our lives so we asked her to paint a map of Italy where we got engaged. I also requested that we incorporate lots of color to make a statement in our neutral living room! Well Christina far exceeded my expectations and the pillows I picked out from Caitlin Wilson Design paired beautiful with our new piece of art.

1) Cozy Cardigans & Sweaters — I love the Barefoot Dreams, Leith and BP cardigans each year during the sale
2) Designer Denim — This year I would keep your eyes out for Kut from Cloth, AG Jeans, Good American and Frame.
3) Boots & Ankle Booties — I always love the Marc Fisher, Steve Madden, Sam Edelman and Jeffrey Campbell booties
4) Activewear — Zella leggings are the best, but I also love All Yoga too.
5) Shoes, shoes and more shoes! I probably buy 10 pairs of fall shoes from the sale each year and I use them all season long! Last year, I scooped up some of my favorite shoes of all time that I still receive compliments on!

The Best Type of Bag for Work & Play
Morning everyone, if you follow along with me regularly then you know I just returned from a two week long vacation/work trip. So today I’ve teamed up Brahmin to share the best kind of bag to pack for both work and play. Between spending time with family and keeping up with work projects, I knew that trying to remember everything I needed to pack each day would feel overwhelming. So I decided to just bring a large tote bag that would fit everything I could possibly need for each day instead of lugging around two separate bags! I packed my Brahmin Athena Melbourne tote that has plenty of pockets and slips so that I could keep my work essentials organized alongside my daily vacation necessities like touchup makeup, SPF, extra change of clothes, etc… I of course chose a neutral color that would go with everything. I especially love how this grey color pairs with the purple printed dress I’m wearing in today’s post.
