Good Morning readers, I’m so excited to announce that I have partnered up with the Emeril Lagasse Foundation to give away two tickets to their Boudin, Bourbon & Beer Festival at Champions Square in New Orleans on November 7th, 2014. The festival is co-chaired Emeril Lagasse and Donald Link and not only will the event be held in a much bigger space this year, but it will also mark the foundation’s 4th Annual Boudin, Bourbon & Beer festival.
Champions Square will host 50 of the country’s best chefs who will be cooking up their best boudin dishes. Funds raised at the event benefit Emeril Lagasse Foundation, which supports children’s educational programs, life skills development initiatives, culinary training, and cultural enrichment.
To show you what you can look forward to at the Emeril Lagasse Foundation’s Boudin, Bourbon & Beer Festival, Kaela (my photographer) and I payed Emeril’s restaurant in New Orleans a little visit where I got to experience just a taste of the festival. I started off with an Autumn Pomme garnished with an apple and a hint of Buffalo Trace. Next, I enjoyed a refreshing Abita Amber. Then I finished off with a classic Manhattan and a traditional Old Fashion! Don’t worry, I didn’t drink each entire cocktail! I’m saving that kind of fun for the real festival!

Fall is officially in the air and I’m all about chunky cable knit sweaters and deconstructed denim. It still hasn’t reached below the 60s during the daytime here in Louisiana so I can only accessorize with handbags and booties. However, I can’t wait to start layering on blanket-like scarves, cool vests and cocoon coats. Until the temps drop, all we can do here in the south is keep swapping out structured handbags and chic pumps or booties to change up our fall looks. I know I’m pushing it right now with this cozy cable knit sweater, but I don’t mind breaking a sweat in the name of fashion! Just kidding! For real though, it’s fall so I’m going to dress like it no matter what! For those of you who aren’t down to brave the heat in thick chunky sweaters, you can always opt for a lightweight sweater. Also, I love a long sleeve shirt or blouse with a sleeveless cardigan or you can pair a sweater with a flippy skirt and ankle boots!
