5 Tips For Organizing Your Home

Hey everyone, I hope your first week of the new year is still going strong. I’ve been working on new daily routines and healthy eating habits as well trying to organize the house and my life. To help you out with your own life organization, I’ve partnered up with World Market to share 5 tips on how to better organize your home!

  1. First things first! Let’s get your priorities in order! Where do you keep your wine and are the bottles organized by year, color or price? We are working on building a wet bar with a winer cooler, but until then we love using these pine 44-bottle wine racks from World Market. Blake keeps the bottles organized by brand (aka fanciness).  It makes it easier when we have guests over because we know which section to pull from.

2. Convenient storage! Since I’m a blogger, I’m constantly getting new stuff to feature for you all. Sometimes my office can get a little messy and overwhelmed with products, but if I put everything away in closets and drawers, I’ll forget about the new items. So I use this gold rolling cart to hold all of the new items until they’ve been featured. I also use a second gold rolling rack to store beauty products in the bathroom. These gold carts are perfect for storing items that you need to have easy access to, but don’t have anywhere else to put them! They’re also great for keeping your offices supplies and papers.

3) Speaking of office storage, I highly recommend these gold file storage to keep all of your tax documents, bills and other house paperwork. I also like this gold wire one!

4) Display storage! Put all of your pretty throw blankets where you can enjoy them in the living room like this wood ladder or macrame basket. Leave the closet space for all other messy items that you’d rather keep hidden instead on the kitchen counter or coffee table.

5. If you don’t already own a bar cart it’s officially time to invest! It’s the perfect way to beautifully display your bar tools, glasses and mixers, liquor and wine. See my post on holiday bar carts here—>6 Holiday Bar Cart Essentials

How to Style Leopard Print Booties

Hi everyone, as you all know, I just returned from NYC where I’m sure you saw me wearing these leopard print booties all over town. I got so many compliments on them from people on the street that I felt compelled to share them with you in blog post.  I’m always a fan of leopard print accessories especially in a calf hair material so when I came across these Sam Edelman Case booties in leopard print calf hair at Nordstrom, I knew I had to have them! I’m obsessed with my exact pair, but Nordstrom has a huge selection of leopard print booties.

If love the idea of leopard print booties, but you’re hesitant because you don’t what you’ll wear them with, don’t forget that you can treat leopard print as a neutral color. Scroll through this post to see I wore them while running around NYC.

I’m in love with this camel sweater and wore it multiple different ways during my NYC trip! For size reference, I’m wearing the size 4 US (fits like 0-2). A Camel sweater is definitely a closet staple!

5 Tips For Hosting Overnight Guests

Happy Monday everyone, today I’ve teamed up with World Market to share 5 tips for hosting overnight guests at your home. Scroll through this post for ideas on how to make your guests feel right at home or even better along with plenty of cozy home decor inspiration.

  1. Let’s be real here…we all know what everyone really wants to know the minute they walk into your home…the Wifi password! Duh! So make it easy for them and instead of shouting out a bunch of numbers from across the room with you halfway under a table reading off the password from the router, write or print out the wifi network and password and set it on their nightstand.

2. Prior to their arrival, ask them what they like in their coffee along with breakfast and snack requests so you can stock the fridge with some of your guests meal preferences. I always love when hosts make sure to have almond milk on hand for me since I have a dairy sensitivity.

3. If your guest is arriving late in the night while you’re asleep, make sure to leave the lamp on in their room and turn down their sheets. Bottled water is a nice touch too along with a handwritten welcome note. Oh and don’t forget about extra pillows, blankets, bathroom towels and a spare toothbrush.

4. Don’t forget about space and organization for their belongings. I don’t know about you, but I don’t have the storage room to leave the guest bedroom closet empty for guests to actually use. So I came up with an alternative way for my guests to hang their belongings and keep their luggage. I put together a nice rolling rack with some empty hangers for my guests to utilize during their stay. I’ve been meaning to add a cozy robe to the rack too.

5. If you want to make your guest feel extra special, put together a little basket of their favorites treats and snacks and set it on the dresser or nightstand. If your guest is a good friend that you haven’t seen in while, dig up some old pictures of the two of you and frame one to place somewhere in their room.

Key Pieces You Can Wear Now & Later!

Happy Friday everyone, I know it’s so early to be thinking about fall outfits, but you know what it’s not too early for? Transitional outfits! Pieces you can wear now and later! August is only a couple days away and I’m sure we can all agree that it’s one of the most awkward months when it comes fashion. It’s like summer is pretty much over, but it’s still hot as hell and no where near fall! So what do you wear? Allow me to fill you in on a little secret….all you do is wear a different version of the same outfit everyday. Just change up the color combo and maybe the shoes the shoes and bag, but it works like a charm! However, this does require you to invest in some key transitional pieces. Fortunately, I found some great closet staples from Abercrombie at affordable prices like this lace tank for only $28 and don’t stop at one color. Go ahead and stock up on a few colors like the olive and white. Trust me, you will thank yourself later!

As for jeans, I am obsessed with this ankle length pair with the raw hem detail. I swear it’s like they were custom made for me. I’m only about 5 ft so I ordered the “short” length and they actually hit right before the ankle just like they’re supposed to. This almost never happens for me. Plus they have the perfect amount of stretch and structure for a flattering fit. Oh and get this…they’re on sale for only $39!

Thirdly, you’ll need a variety of cardigans and/or vests, I recommend getting grey, black and camel color or you can always go for a pop of color with olive green or burgundy.
