Good Morning readers, I decided to be bold and out try out this pencil skirt and cropped top trend that Abbey of District Dress Up recommended to me.  You all know I love a good cropped top and maxi skirt combo, but I’ve never tried it with a fitted bottom before.  I was hesitant at first because I felt a little too sexy, but then I realized there is no shame in a tasteful eye-catching look.  I’m not gonna lie though… my grandmother does read my blog each morning and this look probably won’t be her favorite, but I know deep down she’s thinking, “Well, I wish I could still wear something like that.” So ladies, I urge to step out of your comfort zone and try something fun and sexy.  Yes, I said it, sexy.  Rock those slightly scandalous outfits while you still can! Let’s bring sexy back!  Just remember to keep your looks somewhat modest to avoid attracting the wrong the kind of attention.

Tips for looking sexy without getting out of control:

1) Choose a bold colored handbag or statement necklace to keep the focus on your accessories.

2) If you’re wearing a fitted pencil skirt with a cropped top like I did, make sure that the length of skirt reaches at least to your knees if not longer. Also, do not wear any low cut tops if you’re showing your midriff. You don’t want to show too much skin.

3) If you’re not a fan of showing a lot of skin, you can still try this look by wearing a sleeveless fitted top that you can tuck into the skirt.  You can also switch the pieces up.  You can wear the solid color on bottom and a print on top.  I definitely recommend incorporating a print or bright color so that people will immediately be drawn to the fun pattern of the outfit instead of your body.

4) Lastly, if you’re thicker on the bottom and don’t feel comfortable in a pencil skirt, trying wearing a flared out A-line skirt with a cropped top. It’s still just as fun and sexy!  Well, maybe a little more fun than sexy, but it’s still a fabulous look!

P.S. I’m so excited for tonight’s event with Pret-a-Porter and Reagan Charleston Design at the L’auberge in Baton Rouge.  Krystal of A Pinch of Lovely and I will be co-hosting the event. Speaking of the Pret-a-Porter, the winner of the show ticket and linen dress giveaway has already been notified by email.

Good Morning readers, I hope you’re all excited to find out the winner of the Amanda Uprichard Leather Martini Peplum top giveaway tomorrow as well as spending Thanksgiving day with family and friends.  I cannot wait to sit down for a delicious meal tomorrow and enjoy some relaxation time.  Thanksgiving day is definitely in my top three favorite holidays!

About the Outfit: On Monday you saw how I styled the Pegasus Necklace with the Amanda Uprichard Leather  Combo Mojito dress (The Leather Mojito), and yesterday you saw it paired with the Jolie & Elizabeth Chelsea dress in Burgundy (Nude & Wine).  Today I’ve styled it with holiday dress number three, the Navy Sheer Mimi dress.  Originally when I received this dress I wasn’t sure what I thought of it, but once I put it on I was shocked to see how flattering the fit was.  It’s such a classy and elegant dress, and best of all it comes in the year round color navy. I especially love how the higher waist band lengthens my legs and accentuates the slimmest part of my waist! All I did to style the dress was add a pair of red suede pumps for a pop of color and the gold Pegasus necklace to brighten up the neckline. Speaking of the Pegasus necklace, after viewing all three outfits together, I can’t decide which dress I like it paired best with!  Which one was your favorite!  Refer to the photos below!

Good Morning readers, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are looking forward to the Thanksgiving holiday this week.  I can’t wait to get away from work for a while and just enjoy time with family and friends before I take on a few more new Haute Off The Rack clients for Christmas shopping and wardrobe styling sessions for upcoming holiday events.  Speaking of holiday events, I would most definitely recommend wearing this dress and/or necklace to a cocktail attire Christmas party.  I love how this dress has just the right amount of leather to play into this season’s hottest trend plus it still has a classic and flattering fit.  And not to mention, how chic do black and navy look together.  I think the black leather makes it a little sexy, but the navy silk keeps it classy and sophisticated.  If you want to dress it down some I think it would look great with some opaque tights and black, heeled ankle boots.

As far as the Stella and Dot Pegasus necklace, well that piece of jewelry speaks for itself!  It will surely add instant glam to any holiday outfit especially if you’re trying to stand out in a little black dress. I also love how the necklace accents the gold in the cap toe pumps.  Get ready to see a few more holiday dresses styled with the Pegasus necklace over the next few days!
