How To Maximize Your Handbag Collection

Hey everyone, today I’m sharing a great way to maximize your handbag collection with this super cute crossbody that I recently picked up from kate spade new york. What if I told you that you could turn one single handbag into nearly 20+ different looking bags! Sounds magical, right? I’m referring to the kate spade Make It Mine Collection. Kate spade’s latest collection allows you to customize your handbag with fun interchangeable flaps and straps and you can even add on little tassels and charms to your bag too. I started with three different flaps: shearling, leopard-print haircalf and plain black to match my bag. I also love the idea of adding this flamingo flap to the tusk colored bag. If you love the idea of multiple bags in one, you’re in luck because today you’ll receive 3 different flaps when you purchase the Make It Mine Byrdie Bag for $298. It’s like getting 4 different bags only $298. What a steal! Just use code: MAKEITMINE by midnight tonight (July 31)!

Check out all of the different flaps you can choose from here—> https://www.katespade.com/flaps/

How To Rock The Embroidered Shoe Trend

Hi everyone, I recently showed you how to style colorful sandals for summer with Sole Society and today I’m sharing three tips on how to rock the embroidered shoe trend! This trend rolled out last fall and it doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere soon so I say it’s time for you to roll up your sleeves and try it out for yourself. Scroll through this post for tips and to see how I styled my embroidered mules.

  1. Don’t play it safe! The embroidered shoe trend is fun and edgy so keep it that way!  Don’t just pair them with a little black dress. Throw on your favorite ripped jeans or cutoff shorts with a cropped top or graphic tee.

2. Avoid wearing additional statement pieces that will compete with the shoes. It’s totally ok to style your embroidered shoes with other prints and patterns, but just take few steps back in the mirror and ask yourself if it looks like too much going on. And be honest with yourself! I also suggest wearing a color on top from the pattern of the shoes to really make that hue pop.

3. Don’t overpay for trendy items like these embroidered mules! Keep it under $100 like this pair for only $84 from Sole Society! Also, if you aren’t quite ready for the embroidered look yet, but you’re ready to take on color, these shoes are also available in solid yellow too.

Everyday Striped Dress + Wedges

Hi everyone, if you follow me on Instagram then you know that I just returned from three weeks of traveling, but I am finally home in Louisiana for two full weeks before leaving town again. With that being said, I’m excited to share tons of new and exciting content here on the blog starting with this everyday striped dress and taupe wedges from Sole Society. This outfit is perfect for everyday wear during spring and summer. I like wearing wedges to add some height since I’m so petite, but you can also pair this dress with flat sandals too. Next time I wear this dress I plan to style it with a red bandana choker, flatform espadrilles and my dusty rose crossbody bag. How would you wear this striped dress to wear as a casual, everyday outfit?

About the striped dress: In case you don’t already know about this about me, I hem and alter almost everything I wear including this dress. I must alter everything because I’m only 5 ft and 3/4 of an inch so everything is always too long or has too much extra fabric. All I did to this dress was take off about two inches of the hem so you don’t have to worry about it being too short because it the dress is still plenty long enough if you leave it as is.

If you’re looking for a more dramatic striped piece, I also love this tiered high-low dress from Modlcoth.

Trying Out The Bandana Trend

Hi everyone, I must start off this post by saying that I realize I may look like a gondolier (aka a person who drives a gondola), but hey, I wanted to try out the bandana trend! If you look past the fact that I look like I’m about to take some folks on gondola ride, I think you might really like this look especially since my striped tee is under $12 from Old Navy. I’ve really been loving Old Navy’s boyfriend style tees for easy transitional outfits plus they come in over 10 different colors including these stripes. So hey, I might be a gondola girl, but at least I know good deal when I see one! You can check out more of the tee styles here—> Old Navy Tee Shop
