Travel Outfits Style Guide

Travel Outfits Style Guide: My five main components of the perfect travel outfit are: jeans (or leggings), a comfy lightweight shirt, a jacket, an oversized tote and sneakers (or booties)! I also always bring an extra pair of socks for when my feet get cold on the plane, and I pack my tote with a pair heels or wedges along with my jewelry in case we go wear somewhere nice once we arrive and I don’t have time to change.

Good Morning everyone! I apologize for not posting the past couple of days, but I’ve been so crazy moving into our new house! Our movers cancelled on us last minute so we had to move everything ourselves down three flights of stairs, and that is definitely NOT something you want to do during July in Louisiana. The new house is precious though! It’s all white inside with the original wood floors from 1929! I posted some sneak peeks on Snapchat if you’re interested. It has so much character and charm and it sits on the most beautiful street!

Anyway, about these looks… with summer in full swing, I decided to put together two travel outfits since I’m sure a lot of you have summer vacations planned. I wore the outfit above with my favorite rose gold Joie Kidmore sneakers, which are currently 50% OFF! I styled the outfit below with a pair of lace up heels to show you how can you easily dress up your travel outfit for dinner or drinks once you arrive to your destination. Like I mentioned earlier, I always pack a pair of heels and some jewelry in my carry on tote to dress up my look in case I don’t have time to change.

How to Master Lace Up Heels!

Just a show of hands, who feels intimated by caged and lace up heels? Hmm… just as I had suspected! Just by observing from my friends and online shoppers, I’ve noticed that most people find caged and lace up heels intriguing, but are hesitant to pull the trigger. Well, today I’m going to give that extra push you need to step out of your comfort zone and give the lace up heel a shot!

Hi everyone and Happy Humpday! We’re almost to the 4th of July weekend! Yayy!

Anyway, as I mentioned above I challenge you to try the lace up heel. I am 99.9% positive that you end up loving them! They give your feminine and ladylike outfits the edge they need without looking too over the top. I love the balance between a sweet floral romper like in today’s post and killer pair of lace up heels. I also love pairing lace up heels skinny jeans and a simple tee.

The trick to mastering the lace up heel is to find the right pair that flatters your legs. If you’re tall and lean with thin legs, then the sky is the limit for you my friends. However, if you’re petite with muscular calves and thighs like me, you’re going to want to test out a few pairs to make sure that they don’t cut you off and make you appear short and stout. That’s the worst!

I highly recommend the lace up heels from today’s post for all body types. With that being said, I dare you to pass on plain pumps and lace up your look! Try it out and tell me what you think! This is a great pair to try too–> Henlie Heel

What to Wear When It’s Haute! Part 3

It’s still hot people! It’s STILL hot, but don’t worry because I still have more of ‘what to wear when it’s haute’ outfit posts coming for you! You may recognize today’s dress from a recent photo if you follow me on Instagram. You also might notice that I have featured this same style dress in a few different prints on my blog including Jazz Fest. See (here). That’s because the Bella style dress by Show Me Your Mumu is amazing and it comes it different prints year round so I tend to scoop it up in fun new print every season! In case you’ve never heard of Fotostrap, it’s the camera strap that gives back! I first heard about the brand from my photographer, Kaela when I noticed her customized camera strap with her logo. She told me you could even get your initials monogrammed on the strap. Then I recently learned that with every purchase, Fotostrap donates 10% to Fotolanthropy, a non-profit that gives portrait sessions and short films to inspiring people who are overcoming adversity. “By choosing Fotostrap, you are directly helping to fund Fotolanthropy! It is because of our Fotostrap customers that Fotolanthropy can continue to give, capture and share inspiring true stories.” Learn about this movement by visiting www.fotolanthropy.com
