Top 6 Tips for Hosting Holiday Dinner Parties🎄🍷🍾:

1. Before creating your dinner menu, ask your guests if they have any food allergies.
For appetizers, we offered a refreshing hummus dip and a festive herb goat cheese log. For the main course, we served shorts ribs over garlic mashed potatoes with broccolini. We finished off the dinner with a delicious cinnamon apple pie and ooey gooey cake topped with vanilla ice cream.
Fun fact: Brandi used the same red Thompson wine that we served our guests to drink to also make the short ribs with. So we knew the dish would pair perfectly with the wine.

2. Create a bar & drink station.
You can’t host a party and play bartender all night so make it easy for your guests up refill their drinks by setting up a designated station with everything they need from glassware, ice, napkins, mixers, garnishes you name it! It’s also nice to offer two types of wine. We served both red & white wine by @thompson31fiftywines. It’s also nice to offer one signature batched cocktail.

3. Restock the bathroom!
Make sure the bathroom is clean and stocked with toilet paper, towels and other products guests may need.

4. Create the perfect tablescape & food display.
Use a combination of florals, candles, decor and dinnerware that will make your guests feel extra special. If you want to take it a step further, you can even create custom place cards with each guest’s name. Speaking of decor, I always suggest giving your guests suggested attire so no one feels underdressed or out place upon arrival.

5. Turn the lights down!
Turn off all the overly bright lights and set the mood with soft warm lighting that feels glowy and welcoming. I also recommend lighting some candles too.

6. Create the perfect vibey playlist.
When it comes to hosting you don’t have time to also be the DJ so create and playlist or choose one you know all of your guests will enjoy and let Spotify handle the rest!

Bonus tip:
Always make sure to greet your guests and introduce them to other guests before leaving them to greet a new guest.
As your guests leave, try your best to walk each person to the door and offer them any leftover food or wine to take home.

I already know you’re going to ask these questions…
The two 30” wreaths hanging on my mirror and above my hood are from @thefrenchmix. And the big ivory bow on my tree is by @anorderlyabode that she made for me last year. She’s been decorating my house for Christmas since I was super sick while pregnant with Beck and I kept her around because she’s the best. But this year I decided it was time for me to get back to it because I actually love feeling creative and seeing everything come to life, but also I’m super co-depent so I invited some friends over to help.
I kind of forgot how much work it was so I had to split up each area into different days because there was just no way to finish it all one day. We put our 10 ft tree in the living room and used the same decor as last year. And this year I put a 9 ft tree in the dining room that I decorated with two bags and tinsel and then created a little tree topper with some swag I had in my attic from years past. I love how the tinsel tree makes such a statement, but its actually super easy and very affordable.
Highly recommend doing that if you add additional trees and you’re trying to stay within a budget.
We also added a more realistic tree to our bedroom for the kids to decorate with all of their homemade ornaments. All 3 of our trees along with all of the garland and wreaths are from @KingofChristmas. I’ve been getting my trees from them for years and they definitely have the best quality. Plus I love that offer prelit options with multiple different settings and timers. Feel free to ask any decor questions below & i’ll try to answer them all.
