Today, I’m sharing why it’s vital to perfect your top knot skills! We all know that feeling when we’re running five 35 minutes behind for a holiday party and we have to think quick about what we can whip up with some dry shampoo and anything else we have in our hair product cabinet. You try running your curling iron through it, your straightener, 10 pounds of dry shampoo or you even try some bobby pins with a clip and you still hate it! This brings me back to the top knot! We all know it’s the one hairstyle you can always count on to work no matter how dirty your hair is. In fact, the dirtier, the better, right? So I had Tresemme hairstylist, Jeanie Syfu show me how to get this killer ‘Lady Top Knot’ in literally less than five minutes! Scroll down to the bottom for tips.

Jeanie’s tips for the perfect Lady top knot: Instead of a messy top knot, make it neat! Divide into 2 sections, work through a dime size amount of Keratin Smooth cream and begin to tie hair into a knot and pin at the base, keep tying and tuck ends under w pins.
We added some extra fullness to my top knot by adding a couple of hair extensions into the actual bun. Once Jeanie wrapped my hair into the top knot, she took small sections the of the hair on top of my head and pulled upward to create a little bit of volume and height. She also pulled out any loose baby hairs in front for a more ‘undone’ look.
