Hi everyone, I hope you’ve all been enjoying the weekend! We’ve been freezing over here in Louisiana, but I’m sure it’s no comparison to the snowy northeast right now. Speaking of snow, seeing everyone in their snow gear yesterday got me all excited for my upcoming ski trip to Breckenridge, CO.  This will be my first time to Breckenridge so I’d love to hear your recommendations. I’d also love to hear you cold weather must-haves so I can make sure I’m full prepared to take on the snow!

How To Style Your Nike Free 5.0 Shoes With Everyday Wear!

If you saw my Instagram post last night, then you know that I’ve been loving my new Nike Free 5.0 shoes both in and out of the gym. On Monday I showed you how I styled my nikes with a cute activewear look (see here–>Haute Pink Activewear Vest), but today I’m showing you how I wear my nikes with everyday wear.

Hi everyone, when it comes to styling your Nikes with everyday wear, I recommend ankle cropped skinny jeans or leggings to avoid awkward fabric bunching at the ankles. If you’re petite like me, you can just cuff the bottom of your jeans if they’re too long to show some ankle for a more styled and slimming look. I always think that showing off a little ankle allows for a much more chic and flattering appearance especially for petite people like myself!

Stylish Winter Outerwear

Hi everyone, I’ve been saving some of my stylish outerwear looks from New York for extra chilly days like today when you realize that you need more than a light jacket here in Louisiana. This is actually a fairly lightweight trench coat, but I’m wearing a super chunky cable knit sweater beneath it. It’s the perfect balance for me because I’m super petite and don’t like feeling short and stocky in bulky outerwear. To avoid looking like a little a like winter Oompa Loompa, I balance out my layers with warm and cozy to lightweight and breathable. That’s another thing! I can’t stand feeling overly warm to the point where I want rip everything off so I like to make sure that some of my layers include breathable fabric.

New Orleans Salon By Sucre

I recently had the pleasure of spending a couple of days in the French Quarter with Nikki of My Style Diaries and we made sure to make time for Sucre’s newest addition, Salon by Sucre. We had the honor of getting the entire balcony that overlooks the New Orleans French Quarter all to ourselves. Normally, every balcony table is full of both locals and tourists, but we didn’t want to ruin anyone’s experience with our obnoxious camera and poses so we stopped in on a Tuesday when the upstairs was closed. The owner of Sucre still made sure to give us the full Salon by Sucre experience by showering us with all of their best teas and treats.

Hi everyone and Happy Sunday! I wish I was sitting on Salon by Sucre’s balcony right now enjoying the sun and jazzy street sounds of New Orleans. Instead, I’m laying on the couch like I’ve been doing all day since it’s so gloomy outside. I can’t complain too much though because we did get a slight cool front over night so it finally feels like fall and my couch doesn’t feel too bad either. I’m sure you can relate!

Anyway, I highly recommend stopping in Salon by Sucre on Conti St. when strolling through the French Quarter. Their finger sandwiches and baked sweets were delicious along with the refreshing afternoon tea. I loved the Marigold Flowering tea. If you don’t have time for tea, at least makes sure to stop for macarons and gelato on the first floor. Trust me, you won’t regret it!
