What to Wear to an Afternoon Champagne Soiree

Photos c/o of Camilyn Beth, Black & Geauxld Photography & Atlantic Pacific
Good morning readers, this Sunday afternoon I’ll be attending the fourth annual BubbleQ fundraiser. This event is designed to help raise money for the New Orleans Jazz Institute, which provides free music education for the children of New Orleans, Louisiana. At the event, you can enjoy BBQ and almost every kind of champagne while listening to New Orleans style Jazz music.
Sounds like a great event, right? Now, the question is… what do I wear to an afternoon champagne soiree? I was stuck thinking about the perfect outfit to sip champagne in while listening to jazz music until the answer finally hit me, Camilyn Beth of course!! Why didn’t I think of that before! I mean Camilyn Beth should be the first things that comes to mind when you’re searching for a special occasion dress. All of her designs are beautifully made with love and elaborate detail. I love how all of her pieces are timeless with a little flair of sequins or ruffles or an open back.
“Camilyn Beth believes that a girl feels her best and most confident when she is loved. Each garment’s purpose is to be more than just fabric, between the local craftsmanship, the story behind the design, to the inspirational quote sewn into each piece, the Camilyn Beth girl will feel the love when wearing CB.” -www.camilynbeth.com
My current favorites by Camilyn Beth are the Gabrielle dress the Go Go dress! Which CB dress do you fancy? You can purchase any of her dresses via her website or locally at Hattie Sparks on 714 Adams St. in New Orleans. So if you’re stuck on what to wear to a special event soon, Camilyn Beth is your gal!
Below is a photo of me, Camilyn Beth and Krystal Bennett at Hattie Sparks boutique during Shop Your City Day in New Orleans this past September. We got to chat her with about her recent dress success and her gorgeous new fall collection. She’s even sweeter and more beautiful in person!

NOLAFW’s Shop Your City Day Recap

I broke in my brand new pointy toe Sam Edelman Mariel Booties while running all over NOLA this past weekend.

Julia Hengel of Gal Meets Glam picks out her favorite pieces by Hazel & Florange.

Andi Eaton, the creative Director of NOLA Fashion Week and designer of Hazel & Florange

Krystal and I loved getting to meet Mackenzie Horan of Design Darling in New York and Liz Schneider of Sequins & Stripes in Chicago.

Anyone who stopped by Hattie Sparks on Shop Your City Day got to see a peek at Camilyn Beth’s newest collection before it hit the runway on Sunday.

Good Morning readers, I hope you’ve all been enjoying your week. Today, I wanted to share some photos with you from NOLAFW’s Shop Your City Day this past weekend. Here’s a little recap of the day:
Krystal of A Pinch Of Lovely and I had to wake up at the crack of dawn to get to New Orleans for 8:30 am for an early breakfast with Krewe Du Optic and the all of the guest bloggers in town. We got to try on all of the cool new shades from Krewe’s latest collection that hasn’t been released yet. I already have my eye on a few pairs that will be out this November. At the end of breakfast we each got to choose a pair of sunnies as gift from Krewe Du Optic to feature on our blogs. I chose the Toulouse Flat Black light mirrored sunglasses, which you’ll be seeing on Haute Off The Rack soon. Check out the photo at the bottom of the post to see all of the bloggers in their new Krewe shades.
After breakfast, Krystal and I headed to our complimentary hair blow out appointments at Paris Parker Salon on Canal courtesy of NOLAFW. I always love getting a deep head massage and hair wash at Paris Parker, and don’t even get me started on the delicious smell of their Aveda hair products. I just love that Air Control hair spray. Those of you who you use Air Control know exactly what I’m talking about!
Once we finished with hair and makeup, we headed over to Hazel & Florange on Chartres St. to visit with Andi Eaton and to check out Julia of Gal Meets Glam’s store picks. We enjoyed chatting over champagne and macaroons before making our way over to Haute Boutique on Magazine St. to visit with Mackenzie of Design Darling and Liz of Sequins & Stripes. We of course nibbled on a few more treats at Haute Boutique with and Liz and Mackenzie before stopping at the last two boutiques, which were Mimi Boutique with Molly & Sally Miller of A Piece of Toast and Hattie Sparks with Amy Havins of Dallas Wardrobe and Juley Thuy of Upperlyne.
Hattie Sparks was also hosting a Camilyn Beth trunk show. Krystal and I loved viewing her brand new collection before it hit the runway on Sunday. My favorite pieces were the Go Go dress and the Gabrielle dress!
More of NOLA Fashion Week soon to come on Haute Off The Rack so stay tuned!

NOLAFW Day 5

Good Morning readers, the following photos are from my attempt to capture the Tallulah Designs Fall 2013 Collection Presentation. Tallulah Designs’ and Amanda Deleon’s collections were among my top favorites during NOLA Fashion Week, which is what you’ll be seeing on Haute Off The Rack today.
Each of Tallulah’s pieces from the vibrant and colorful prints to the brocade-textured skirts and dresses can be worked into your daily wardrobe and even worn for special occasions. The classic and lady-like style of her clothing make it easy for you to transition the pieces from day to night with just a few tweaks to your accessories.

This textured winter-white cape was by far the most beautiful piece by Tallulah Designs. I can’t wait to get my hands on it in the Fall.

Photos by: Me (These were the only doable ones that I shot)

At this point, I realized that I better let the professional photographers take over. So the following photos are by Black and Geauxld Photography and Brei Olivier.

We saw so many stunning shades of the color of the year on the runways this season, Pantone 17-5641 Emerald Green.

Geovanni, I applaud you for this breath taking image.

Amanda Deleon put the audience into a trance with her exquisitely detailed collection. Each individual detail from the gold sequins and rich velvet fabric to the the detailed leather cut-outs and draped fringe could bring a tear to your eye from its astounding beauty.
“It’s as if Amanda went into my head, tapped into my black + gold dreams,
and then made them in tulle and leather,” said Sarah Barnett of Think Twice Style.
“The Amanda DeLeon show blew our minds as expected,” said Katie Dumestre and Rachel Adams of The Elizabeth Chronicles, “If you didn’t look close enough you would miss something carefully molded into the leather.”

I’m so glad that I’ve been able to share my NOLA Fashion Week experience with you via my blog and social media. I’d love to hear your feed back on what you’d like to see more of for next season.
Just to fill you in, this week you’ll be seeing my March Fashion Feature, Kimberly of Penny Pincher Fashion, some St. Patrick’s day inspiration and what to expect from Candy Apple’s pop-up shop on Saturday March, 23. I’m also super exciting to collaborate with Yael of Madly-Yours this week to introduce you to her adorable clutch collection.

This electric blue dress was my favorite look by Jolie & Elizabeth! I can’t wait to get my hands on that piece in the fall!

I always love a pop of red with a black and white outfit.

I was rather impressed with this shot that I got of Izavel’s conceptual collection, Progression.

Ashlie Ming of Blackout and her team put together an amazing show from the perfect music selection to the fierce models. “Once you go black, you never go back!”

It’s always a treat to see my girls Katie Dumestre and Rachel Adams of The Elizabeth Chronicles!
My Outfit: Minnie Ankle Pant (J. Crew), Silver Mirrored Pumps (Target), Mint Tie Front Blouse (Rory Beca old), Ivanka Trump Metallic Laser-Cut Clutch c/o (Thank you to Femme Fatale), Virgins Saints and Angels Pendant Necklace
