My Recent Stay In The New Orleans South Market District

Happy weekend everyone, today I’m sharing a review of my recent staycation at the Ace Hotel in the New Orleans South Market District. As much as I love to travel away from my home in Louisiana, I still always enjoy a delicious staycation in NOLA. If you’re wondering what I mean by “delicious” staycation, just scroll through these photos and I think you’ll figure it out! They don’t call New Orleans the ‘Big Easy’ for nothing! Willa Jean, Oh Willa Jean— a name I would be better off without knowing. I say this because I constantly find myself day dreaming about their chocolate-chip cookies served with a side of raw cookie dough and sweet milk. Y’all! My mouth is watering right now as I write this. I can’t even begin to explain how delicious their brunch menu is so you’re just going to have to try it out for yourself, but be sure to make reservations ahead of time or you might never get a table! Also, you must order one of their famous frozés (aka frozen rosé) and/or one of their tasty Bloody Mary’s!

How To Master The Athleisure Trend

For my second post of the day, I’m talking about how to master the athleisure trend. If you’re one to dress in your activewear even when you don’t plan to hit the gym that day, then I’m sure you’re loving the new trend as am I!  Sometimes I’ll even shower after working out and put on new activewear clothing to wear for the rest of the day because hey, it’s comfy! Plus it’s easy and functional especially for someone who works from home. Scroll down to see how to seamlessly pull off the trend.

The key to mastering the athleisure trend is chic accessories and a cool pair of sneakers. A really edgy yoga pant style doesn’t hurt either! If I’m heading out to run errands after the gym or if I just straight up want to wear fitness clothing that day then I like to my pair outfit with my black Nike running shoes and a nice handbag like my Chloe Marcie Satchel.  I like how the chic handbag offsets the casual vibe of the sneakers for an unexpected twist to the everyday activewear outfit. If you don’t own a big handbag, not to worry because a simple cross body like my Rebecca Minkoff Mini Suki looks just as cute!

As for the actual outfit, I say anything goes as long as you add a jacket, vest or even a scarf. In this case I’m wearing jeans, but this outfit would have looked equally as chic with yoga pants. It’s really the accessories that pull the whole look together. I also added jewelry to help dress up my look, but jewelry definitely isn’t necessary to pull off the athlesuire trend!

Camel Cape Coat

In case you haven’t noticed, capes are quickly stealing the spotlight this season and I’m not complaining! I love wearing cape coats and blazers like this beautiful camel cape coat in today’s post. I feel so effortlessly chic whenever I’m wearing one especially with a simple or monochromatic look beneath it. This exact cape is completely sold out, but don’t worry, I linked to some really awesome similar ones below! Also, see how I styled my black cape blazer here–> The Cape Blazer

Crochet Maxi Dress

Hi everyone, today I’m sharing one of my resort wear looks that I wore during Miami Swim Week. I stayed at the beautiful Thompson Hotel in South Beach and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful view! Although, just wait until you see our photos from the rooftop of the 1 Hotel. Now that view is breathtaking!

As you all know, I just returned from Miami Swim Week and man was it haute! I still managed to cool down but that’s probably because I live in Louisiana where it feels even hotter! As for the people of Miami, they were all so beautiful like Greek gods and goddesses. I swear only models live in South Beach.  Ok…so maybe I’m exaggerating a tad about everyone looking like models, but I’m serious when I say it that it was hot as Haiti there! I tried to only wear lightweight rompers and flowy dresses like this ivory crochet maxi dress from Calypso St. Barth. I felt like I fit right in once I slipped it on before heading to the pool bar at Thompson Hotel. Speaking of the Thompson Hotel, it is by far the most adorable boutique hotel that I have ever stepped foot in. Everything felt so fancy there which is exactly why I was able to get away with wearing this stunning bohemian maxi dress in the courtyard by the pool. I just love the all of the crochet details and iridescent embellishment on the tassels. Normally, I don’t wear low cut tops and dress, but the plunging neckline on this maxi dress balances out with the full skirt of the dress so it works! Speaking of the full skirt, it’s lined with three layers of luxurious silk fabrics, which gives the dress that elegant and romantic look.
