Top H&M Picks for Pre-Fall

Shop H&M online –> HM.com/US
Good Morning readers, I hope you all had a nice weekend. I don’t know about you, but I’m beyond over this scorching southern heat. I know cool weather is far from near, but I can still fantasize about leather jackets, leggings and booties. Right? Kind of like how guys start their own fantasy football teams, I’m starting my own fantasy fall wardrobe. Currently, these are my top picks from H&M online, but I’m sure that is subject to change as new arrivals hit the web. I’ll keep you updated and I’ll also be styling a few of these pieces on Haute Off The Rack once fall gets closer. However, you’ve already seen me style the khaki green twill jacket with a dainty white embroidered dress. (See outfit here). Pairing a fall jacket with your summer sun dresses is a great way to start transitioning your looks from summer to pre-fall.
P.S. Don’t forget there is still time to enter the H&M 50 States of Fashion contest!
All you have to do is Instagram a photo of your style using your favorite H&M pieces and hashtag #HMSHOPONLINE__ corresponding to the state in which you live:
Example: #HMShopOnlineLA for Louisiana
H&M will choose one lucky winner from each state who will receive a $250 giftcard and one grandprize winner will get a $1,000 giftcard and a trip for two to New York Fashion Week. Who wouldn’t love that! The contest begins today on August 1st and will end on August 21st at 7 pm. See more details here!
All the Instagram submissions will filter into the 50 States of Fashion site where viewers can “like” their favorite looks. Just make sure hashtag #HMShopOnline__! Good luck everyone! I’d love if you tagged me in your looks on Instagram so that I can see them too! Tag me @HauteOffTheRack!

Good Morning readers, I decided to be bold and out try out this pencil skirt and cropped top trend that Abbey of District Dress Up recommended to me. You all know I love a good cropped top and maxi skirt combo, but I’ve never tried it with a fitted bottom before. I was hesitant at first because I felt a little too sexy, but then I realized there is no shame in a tasteful eye-catching look. I’m not gonna lie though… my grandmother does read my blog each morning and this look probably won’t be her favorite, but I know deep down she’s thinking, “Well, I wish I could still wear something like that.” So ladies, I urge to step out of your comfort zone and try something fun and sexy. Yes, I said it, sexy. Rock those slightly scandalous outfits while you still can! Let’s bring sexy back! Just remember to keep your looks somewhat modest to avoid attracting the wrong the kind of attention.
Tips for looking sexy without getting out of control:
1) Choose a bold colored handbag or statement necklace to keep the focus on your accessories.
2) If you’re wearing a fitted pencil skirt with a cropped top like I did, make sure that the length of skirt reaches at least to your knees if not longer. Also, do not wear any low cut tops if you’re showing your midriff. You don’t want to show too much skin.
3) If you’re not a fan of showing a lot of skin, you can still try this look by wearing a sleeveless fitted top that you can tuck into the skirt. You can also switch the pieces up. You can wear the solid color on bottom and a print on top. I definitely recommend incorporating a print or bright color so that people will immediately be drawn to the fun pattern of the outfit instead of your body.
4) Lastly, if you’re thicker on the bottom and don’t feel comfortable in a pencil skirt, trying wearing a flared out A-line skirt with a cropped top. It’s still just as fun and sexy! Well, maybe a little more fun than sexy, but it’s still a fabulous look!
P.S. I’m so excited for tonight’s event with Pret-a-Porter and Reagan Charleston Design at the L’auberge in Baton Rouge. Krystal of A Pinch of Lovely and I will be co-hosting the event. Speaking of the Pret-a-Porter, the winner of the show ticket and linen dress giveaway has already been notified by email.

Something Leopard, Something Blue

Outfit: Peplum dress c/o Amanda Uprichard | Ankle Strap Heels | Leopard Print Clutch (available at The Mix)
Jewelry: Beaded bracelets & Clear Quartz Necklaces c/o Reagan Charleston Design (RCD jewelry is sold at Rise Boutique in NOLA, The Mix in Mandeville and Femme Fatale in Baton Rouge & St. Francisville ) | Multi Colored Bracelet c/o Dotted Tusk
Good Morning readers, how fabulous is the color of this Amanda Uprichard dress? I swoon over its beautiful and vibrant hue. I know the peplum trend has been a bit overdone lately, but this color totally drew me in and put me back under the peplum spell. Amanda Uprichard always produces her collections in bright and colorful hues, which is one of the main things I really love about her line. Bright-colored tops and dresses are a weakness of mine.
To accessorize the look, I added the calf-hair clutch to give the look a transitional vibe and styled it with a pair a nude heels to elongate my legs. I kept the rest of my accessories neutral so that nothing would compete with the color of the dress or the leopard print clutch.
P.S. I’ve got some exciting news for you! I have a big photo shoot with Krystal Bennett of A Pinch of Lovely today for 225 and InRegister’s Avenue Rouge Runway Show this September 26th! Krystal and I will be giving you special coverage all month long followed by live video coverage the night of the show. You can buy tickets here–> Avenue Rouge Runway

Good Morning readers, I hope you all had a great weekend! Last Friday I hosted a fashion segment on WBRZ news on how to start transitioning your looks from summer to pre-fall and how to accessorize those looks. I know it’s way too hot to even be thinking about wearing sweaters and boots, but now is the time to start slowly transitioning your wardrobe before fall hits you out of no where!
On the segment I showed two different ways to wear the Show Me Your Mumu Mick Slit maxi and I showed how to take jeans and plain white tank from summer to fall with just a few accessories. Jeans and a simple white top is the ultimate transitional look because all you have to do is accessorize! Accessories will be your best friends during this awkward transitional period.
I also got to showcase some of Reagan Charleston’s new jewelry designs. Speaking of Reagan Charleston, make sure to enter the giveaway to win one of her beautiful beaded bracelets. Enter here–> Reagan Charleston Design Giveaway
Transitional Tip: Ankle booties are the perfect transtional shoes because you can wear them now with dresses and shorts and then later into the fall with jeans and leggings!
