Good Morning readers, I’m so glad that I finally get to share some of my New York Fashion Week looks with you.  I wore this pastel pleated midi skirt and cropped top to the Dee Keller Spring Preview Brunch.  Don’t worry, we were inside the whole time. Well, except for this part right here!

Some of you might be wondering what the heck I was doing in a cropped top in the dead of winter in New York, and trust me while I was shooting this look I was wondering the same thing!  I was freezing my butt off during this shoot in 10 degree weather with snow flurries in my face, but I wanted to shoot this look because I knew it wouldn’t be long before my readers in Louisiana could start wearing wear this type of clothing. Spring comes a lot sooner down south! So I wanted to be prepared. Now with my luck it’s raining and 54 degrees today, but I swear it was hot the other day and we’ll be in shorts and flip flops before you know it! However, all you Louisiana girls better appreciate this post because I did this for you! I love y’all so much I went cropped in the dead of winter for you! Just kidding…but really though!

Good Morning readers, for today’s rainy day post, all I did was transition yesterday’s look into a rainy day outfit with just a few changes to my shoes and accessories.  In case you missed yesterday’s neutral look, you can view it here–> Start Scouting Out Winter Sales

I’m sure it’s not going to rain today just because I posted this outfit. I always jinx the weather with my rain boots! Anytime I put my rain boots on before it actually starts raining, the rain never comes! Then I look ridiculous walking around in rain boots all day!

Also, if you’re in the New Orleans area on Sunday, Feb. 23rd I would love for you to stop my style event from 2 to 4 pm at the new C. Wonder location at The Shops at Canal Place. I’m so excited to be apart of their opening weekend! Event details on the ad below! I hope to see you all there.

In case you aren’t familiar with the brand, C. Wonder offers women’s clothing, footwear, jewelry and accessories; housewares and home decor, personal electronics and great gifts at affordable prices. Visit their website for more at www.cwonder.com!

Good Morning readers, I know that today isn’t really a coat kind of day in Louisiana, but it isn’t quite spring yet either. We still have a few more scattered cold days coming through before we can officially toss our coats in.  Until then I encourage you to keep you eye out for great winter coat sales. Now is the time to start checking to see if your favorite coat has finally gone on sale. If it hasn’t yet, trust me… it won’t be long! I know we each have a coat or winter accessory that we coveted all season long but just couldn’t justify splurging on a piece that will only be worn a few months out of the year. The good news is that there is still a chance you can get it on sale and you might even get a few wears out of it before you have to pack it up for next winter. My only little bit of advice to you is that you don’t go crazy on something too trendy. You’re much better off investing in classic piece that you can wear in years to come. There is no reason to buy something on sale just because it’s on sale.

P.S. Check back tomorrow to see how I transitioned this outfit from a chilly day to a rainy day!
