Good Morning readers, remember how I wore this sleeveless trench coat in Tuesday’s post with jeans and a sweatshirt? You can view the post here in case you missed it–> The Chic Sleeveless Trench Coat | For today’s post, I went with an easy throw-on dress and paired it with my sleeveless trench vest to give the look an edgier feel. I also added some sleek over the knee boots and a nylon backpack for a sporty-chic vibe.  What do you think? Do you like the sleeveless trench better with jeans and a tee or an easy everyday dress? Or both?

About the boots: At first I was hesitant about DUO boots because I was new to the brand, but once I received my first pair of Dita boots in the mail, I instantly fell in love with the incredible detail and quality. Not to mention that fact that you can customize your size to fit your calf for a super smooth and sleek fit. If you’ve been contemplating about splurging on the Stuart Weitzman Highland boot, then these are the boots for you! They have the structure and quality of the Stuart Weitzman boots except you’ll save yourself a few hundred bucks by going with these. The Dita boots are nearly half of the price and the quality is just as amazing if not better! For sizing, it is best to order about a half size down. Good Morning readers, I hope you’re all enjoying your weekend. I’m so glad that we got a nice cool front over the weekend in Louisiana so we can actually enjoy the beautiful fall weather in our boots and scarves without sweating! I’m taking it easy this Sunday morning after a little photo shoot in New Orleans. I have a long week ahead of me full of holiday shoots, brand meetings, a live fashion segment with WBRZ News 2 featuring fall accessories, co-hositng the grand opening of H&M in Shreveport, LA and finally hosting a Gigi New York Trunk Show at Kiki Boutique in Baton Rouge, LA.

Make sure to tune in to my live segment with WBRZ News Channel 2 at 4 pm on Wednesday, November 12 to see this season’s “hautest” fall and winter accessories. Also, if you’re located in Shreveport, I would love if joined me for the H&M Grand Opening Party at Mall St. Vincent starting at noon on Thursday, November 13th. Krystal from A Pinch of Lovely and I will be running a few contests to give you all a chance to win some H&M clothing and accessories. Last, but not least, if you’re around Baton Rouge on Friday, November 14th, please stop by Kiki boutique on Perkins Rowe for a Gigi New York Trunk Show. Good Morning readers, today I’m sharing some of my “cashmere moments” with you. I remember the first time I learned of cashmere. I was shopping with my mom and grandmother during the thanksgiving holidays and shockingly my ten-year-old self didn’t really enjoy shopping trips with mom.  I recall pouting about having to go to store after store looking for clothes to fit my mom’s petite 4’11 frame until I came across this ridiculously soft pastel sweater.  I immediately skipped over to my mom’s dressing room and proceeded to tell her about the the amazingly soft sweater I needed her to buy me.  Once she saw the sweater that I had pranced into her dressing room with, she didn’t hesitate for second before saying, “Absolutely not! 10-year-olds don’t need cashmere.  Cashmere is for women” I shot her a confused and angry look before saying, “Mom! What are you talking about! This is a baby blue sweater! It’s not cashmere! I don’t even know cashmere is!”  Needless to say, I didn’t win the battle considering I was ten and she was the one with the money.

It wasn’t until many years later that I understood why I didn’t deserve that sweater.  Cashmere is a luxury and just like any other luxuries in life, it is meant to be enjoyed and appreciated. My ten-year-old self would have that “baby blue sweater” on the floor of my messy room in no time and then thrown under the bed when my mom yelled for me to clean my room.  Now, as a somewhat mature 24-year-old I know how to properly care for my cable knit cashmere sweater in “ice cap blue” and it’s a prized piece of clothing that I like to pull out for special yet simple moments like the first cool front of the season or coffee and donuts on a cozy Sunday morning with my boyfriend. It’s the sweet and simple luxuries that I enjoy the most during fall and the holidays like going for a walk around my downtown Covington when the leaves first start to fall and decorating the house with pumpkins and eventually wreathes and Christmas trees. What are some of your special cashmere moments? I’d love if shared them with me via Instagram by using hashtag #cashmeremoment. If you don’t own any cashmere, now is the time to invest at Calypso St. Barth. They have the most beautiful and luxurious cashmere pieces right now and select styles are 25% OFF with code: ENJOY25

Good Morning readers, whether you’re petite or tall, I know this grey skirt will fit nicely into your fall wardrobe.  This simple flippy skirt is one of my favorite pieces in my closet right now because it so comfortable and versatile plus it’s still warm enough to show off your bare legs.  As you can see, Krystal and I both styled this skirt two different ways and we’re both completely different heights, which goes to show that the flippy skirt trend works for almost all shapes and sizes. Krystal is 5″9 and pencil thin and I am 5 ft with a little more curve and hip action. Will you be rocking a floppy skirt this fall?

Head on over to A Pinch of Lovely to see Krystal’s outfit details.
