Good Morning readers, as promised here is my second post of the day featuring my last look from New York Fashion Week. I wore this soft pink and brown outfit to the Rebecca Taylor show. I was wearing three layers of clothing and still nearly froze to death. On the bright side of things, my feet were so frozen that it didn’t bother me to wear heeled over-the-knee boots all day walking around the city! As far as the color combo, I’m a sucker for pale pink and brown. Remember when I wore this soft pink look with coated skinnies a while back. This was actually a long while back… like almost two years ago back. See below!

Good Morning readers, I know that today isn’t really a coat kind of day in Louisiana, but it isn’t quite spring yet either. We still have a few more scattered cold days coming through before we can officially toss our coats in. Until then I encourage you to keep you eye out for great winter coat sales. Now is the time to start checking to see if your favorite coat has finally gone on sale. If it hasn’t yet, trust me… it won’t be long! I know we each have a coat or winter accessory that we coveted all season long but just couldn’t justify splurging on a piece that will only be worn a few months out of the year. The good news is that there is still a chance you can get it on sale and you might even get a few wears out of it before you have to pack it up for next winter. My only little bit of advice to you is that you don’t go crazy on something too trendy. You’re much better off investing in classic piece that you can wear in years to come. There is no reason to buy something on sale just because it’s on sale.

Good Morning readers and Happy Valentine’s Day! If you saw yesterday’s post (Dress To Impress This Valentine’s Day: Casual Style), then you saw how I styled this Kate Spade graphic tee for a casual Valentine’s Day date with a pair of distressed denim and a pale pink jacket. Today, I styled it with a bight fun midi skirt by Bel & Beau and my Kate Spade beau bag for a fancy date. I love the unexpected twist of the pink midi skirt paired with the graphic “Dress To Impress” tee. It’s a sweet and elegant look while also bright and fun, which is perfect for a Valentine’s Day date with your sweetie or even your friends.
What are your thoughts on “the midi” skirt? Some of you might be thinking that you can’t pull it off because you’re too short, but let me remind you that I am only 5 ft tall!! So being short is no excuse! I am loving the midi skirt trend as well as the ball gown skirt trend too! They look great paired with graphic tees as well as cropped tops and sleeveless sweaters. Hey readers, this is my second post of the day because I want to keep in the know of all my fashion adventures in NY and that includes getting there too. Let’s just say that packing last night was a five hour nightmare only to find out that my flight had been delayed so I didn’t even need to rush! Oh well, it’s better to be safe than sorry and it was my fault for procrastinating. I always wait until the last minute. Although, I tried to pack earlier in the day but I all got packed was a case of business cards and some lipstick.
Anyway, this is my airport style- casual , comfortable and effortlessly chic. However, I did bring a pair of Sorel snow boots and leggings to wear once I arrived in NY. For travel accessories, I chose bright blue luggage so that I could easily find my belongings in baggage claim plus I got them for a great deal at TJ Max. I packed my Ipad in my pink Gigi clutch and I used my Sia bag from Sole Society as my carry on. For my purse, I used my Kate Spade Beau bag because it’s nice and spacious so it allowed me to pack all of the extra unnecessary things that I convinced myself I needed. Who can guess some of the items in my carry on and purse?
