Good Morning readers, today I’m sharing some of my “cashmere moments” with you. I remember the first time I learned of cashmere. I was shopping with my mom and grandmother during the thanksgiving holidays and shockingly my ten-year-old self didn’t really enjoy shopping trips with mom.  I recall pouting about having to go to store after store looking for clothes to fit my mom’s petite 4’11 frame until I came across this ridiculously soft pastel sweater.  I immediately skipped over to my mom’s dressing room and proceeded to tell her about the the amazingly soft sweater I needed her to buy me.  Once she saw the sweater that I had pranced into her dressing room with, she didn’t hesitate for second before saying, “Absolutely not! 10-year-olds don’t need cashmere.  Cashmere is for women” I shot her a confused and angry look before saying, “Mom! What are you talking about! This is a baby blue sweater! It’s not cashmere! I don’t even know cashmere is!”  Needless to say, I didn’t win the battle considering I was ten and she was the one with the money.

It wasn’t until many years later that I understood why I didn’t deserve that sweater.  Cashmere is a luxury and just like any other luxuries in life, it is meant to be enjoyed and appreciated. My ten-year-old self would have that “baby blue sweater” on the floor of my messy room in no time and then thrown under the bed when my mom yelled for me to clean my room.  Now, as a somewhat mature 24-year-old I know how to properly care for my cable knit cashmere sweater in “ice cap blue” and it’s a prized piece of clothing that I like to pull out for special yet simple moments like the first cool front of the season or coffee and donuts on a cozy Sunday morning with my boyfriend. It’s the sweet and simple luxuries that I enjoy the most during fall and the holidays like going for a walk around my downtown Covington when the leaves first start to fall and decorating the house with pumpkins and eventually wreathes and Christmas trees. What are some of your special cashmere moments? I’d love if shared them with me via Instagram by using hashtag #cashmeremoment. If you don’t own any cashmere, now is the time to invest at Calypso St. Barth. They have the most beautiful and luxurious cashmere pieces right now and select styles are 25% OFF with code: ENJOY25

Good Morning readers, remember a few posts back when I mentioned that I will be hosting a shopping event and fashion show with Saks in New Orleans? Well, I can finally share all of the details with you! I will be styling 5-7 looks in the Fall Fashion Show in Contemporary on the second floor of Saks in Canal Place on Saturday, September 27th from 3-5 pm. The show starts at 3:30 pm, but I will be there all afternoon talking fall trends and offering my styling and shopping assistance! If you can’t make the show, the shopping event lasts all weekend from Friday 9/26 to Sunday 9/28 in which you’ll receive a gift with your $250 Women’s Contemporary clothing purchase! See details on the gift below! You can also get a gift card up to $700 with purchase. More details on the ad below! Please feel free to shoot me an email at Jenn.hauteofftherack@gmail.com if you have any questions! I can’t wait to see you all there!

About This Look: I’m so glad that plaid made another comeback year because I am all about comfy, cozy plaid shirts during the fall! I love to wear them with distressed denim, leather leggings, tucked into a skirt, tied around my waist, you name it! If there is one piece of clothing I know you’ll get a really good use out of this fall, it’s a comfy plaid shirt! You can find this same exact brand and print plaid shirt at the Saks in Canal Place!

Good Morning readers, it is currently 3 am and I hate the fact that I’m awake on top of the fact that I didn’t finish packing until 1:30 am. That’s what happens when you procrastinate the night before your 6 am flight to New York Fashion Week.  With that being said I must be short because I am minutes away from leaving for the airport, but these are some items you’d find in my carry-on bag and  this is one of my two outfit choices to wear on the plane today.
