How To Style Colorful Sandals For Summer

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and Mother’s Day! I’m just getting back into the swing of things since returning from Palm Beach. I actually didn’t want to leave and I’m currently plotting ways on how I shall return to Palm Beach and maybe even move there. Okay…so maybe I won’t go as far as moving there, but I will definitely be visiting again very soon. As you an see from the photos below, I’m not exaggerating when I say that every corner, front yard, alleyway and even stairway were just so breathtaking! I was so glad that I packed a suitcase full of printed dresses, rompers and colorful accessories to complement the beautiful backdrops of Palm Beach including these spicy mustard sandals from Sole Society in today’s post.

Speaking of the sandals featured in today’s post, I notice that a lot of people tend to avoid colorful sandals in fear of them not “matching” anything in their wardrobe. Well, I’m here to tell you that when it comes to styling colorful items, your outfit doesn’t have to actually “match” your accessories, it just needs to “go” with them! In other words, your colorful shoes or accessories don’t have to be the exact same color as the print in your outfit, the colors and textures just have to complement each other.

For example, my spicy mustard sandals don’t match the exact shade of yellow in my romper, but they do complement the soft yellow, poppy red and green in the print.

Good Morning readers and Happy Friday! Who’s ready for the weekend to begin? I know I am! During these next few weekends I’ll be soaking up the last few days of summer in sundresses and floppy hats. Like I told you in my last post, it’s so hot this time of year that all I want to wear are easy lightweight dresses and rompers. Also, I’m usually not one to pair sneakers with a sundress, but how cute are these striped Keds for Kate Spade New York! They’re the perfect kind of transitional shoe to wear in that awkward in between time of summer and fall.  I’m sure you all know what I’m referring too. It’s when you start wondering if it’s still acceptable to wear shorts and flip-flops outside when all you see in stores around you are sweaters and boots, but it’s still like 80 degrees. It’s the worst, right?!

Good Morning readers, I hope you’re all having a great week so far. In case you didn’t notice, this is the second romper from Haus 131 that I have styled this week and I’ll also be posting another romper tomorrow. I’m just kind of on a romper kick right now because they’re so easy and it’s so hot outside. For real though! It’s so hot outside that I just don’t even feel like thinking about putting clothes on. So lately I’ve just been throwing on fun lightweight rompers to run around town in.

Something else that I want to mention is my lace bandeau. I have a really short torso so dresses, tops and rompers with deep V-necks or low scoop necks always reach just a tad to low on my chest so I usually have to use fashion tape or find something to wear underneath.  After a while I grew tired of the regular old nude bandeau so I thought I’d try something a little riskier and decided to buy a black lace bandeau. I kept the lace bandeau in my dresser drawer for two months before I decided to actually pull it out and cut the tags off and man do I wish I would have done it sooner! Because it’s Ah-mazing! <–(Yes, Jordan. I know you shouldn’t start a sentence with because! lol) In case you’re wondering what that was about, my best friend Jordan from fourth grade always sends me my grammar and spelling mistakes after I publish my pots each morning. Thank goodness that she does though because I tend to make some pretty embarrassing mistakes when typing late at night or first thing when I wake up in the morning. So thank you for baring with me and mistakes!

Anyway, back to the lace bandeau! I just love it because it adds just that little bit of edge to my outfits plus it pairs so well with all of my favorite summer booties. My favorite way to wear it is with a deep V-neck like this one where you can almost see the entire bandeau. It also looks really cute beneath sheer flowy tops. What are your thoughts on the lace bandeau?
