Hi everyone, I just want to start by saying that my packing tips do not include how to not be an “overpacker” because that is something I will never NOT be! Haha! My only advice for that is make friends with all of the nice bellhops, take yoga for balancing multiple bags and do some core workouts for heavy bag lifting! I’ve actually gotten very good at this well, except for my last tumble down a mini ramp with all of my luggage at the Dallas airport. This also happened in New York a few years ago.  Anyway, I’ve learned how to juggle all of my bags pretty well because my boyfriend got so tired of lugging all of my extra baggage around that he came up with a new rule. He said, “You can only bring what you can carry.” Now, don’t for a second think that I actually started packing lighter because I didn’t! I just got creative and figured out a way to make it work minus a few falls here and there! Oh and don’t worry, Blake isn’t all mean! lol He still occasionally helps with me with my bags a long as I prove to him that I could handle them on my own if I needed too. Just so you know though, rolling suitcases with ‘spinners’ (4 sets of wheels) really help out a lot!! I bought a matching set of luggage spinners from TJ Max a few years ago and they’re still in great condition.

| My Top 10 Beach Vacation Packing Tips |

1) Place all of your beach hats inside one another and the stuff the stack with all of your socks and undergarments to preserve their shape. Then place the stack upside down in your suit case before zipping it up.

2) Pack your sunscreen inside of a dry pouch with a nylon liner to protect your clothing and accessories from getting damaged. I like the Hayden Reis flamingo pouch!

3) Utilize any extra packing space by filling your straw beach totes with rolled up towels, beach toys, flip-flops, swimsuits and coverups. I’m obsessed with the Mar Y Sol Straw beach totes and the Beach People Round Towels!

4) When it comes to toiletries, always pack dry shampoo for those times when you have to rush to get ready or if your hair is still damp from the water, spray in some Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray for effortless beach waves. Also, pack an ultra moisturizing conditioner to help your hair recover from the heat. I like Neutrogena Triple Moister Deep Recovery Hair Mask or Neutrogena Triple Moisture Daily Deep Conditioner. If you want to really protect your hair color from the sun, run some conditioner through your locks and twist your hair into a braid or bun for a full day in the sun.

5) Avoid the hassle of tangled necklaces and bracelets by storing your jewelry in a travel case or ziplock bags in plastic container. I love using the the Kendra Scott Travel Cases!

6) If you don’t want to pack much jewelry, but you still want to rock some fun beach accessories, flash tattoos are a great alternative.

7) I recommend bringing a variety of swimsuits and coverups that you can mix and match with each other to change things up without without packing your entire swimwear wardrobe.

8) Make sure to pack a few pairs of cheap sunglasses to bring along with you on the beach in case you lose them in the water or scratch them in the sand.

9) Pack a bunch of easy throw on dresses and rompers for nights when you go out to dinner and drinks. Also, make sure to bring a coverup that can double as a kimono in case it gets cold in the restaurant or if you need to coverup a really awful tan line! Haha! I like to wear fun jewelry to dress up my night time looks. If you like lots of color, then you’ll love Coralie Reiter’s Designs. Check them out here–> Coralie Reiter Jewelry

10) Last, but not least pack a positive attitude! Yea, that might sound lame, but just think about all of the beach trips that didn’t go the way you expected them to whether it rained the whole time and you got stung by a jelly fish or you got super sunburned on the first day and lost your reservations at your favorite restaurant after running 30 minutes late. Just remember to be open-minded and open to sudden changes throughout the trip and you’re guaranteed to have a better time. I’m no expert! I’m just speaking from personal experience! Just sit back and enjoy the ride instead of trying to control of everything.
