How To Style The Gingham Trend For Spring

Hey everyone and Happy Tuesday! Today I’m talking about the gingham trend with Ann Taylor and how to work one of their printed pieces into your wardrobe. I’m talking gingham tops, dresses, shorts and even shoes. Just check out how amazing these gingham bow heels are! I of course had to snag those shoes for myself, but I also picked up this gingham printed camp shirt from Ann Taylor and styled it with these super chic white cropped pants.

If you follow along with Haute Off The Rack regularly, then you know I’m fairly petite so I’m all about a cropped top or knotting the front of my shirt to accentuate my waistline. Fortunately, Ann Taylor offers petite sizes so I scooped up the cropped pants in a petite size and they fit perfectly. They look amazing with cropped tops and fitted shirts on the weekend, but they’re also great for the work week too if you just pair them with a blouse minus the knot in front. I don’t work in a formal office space, but if I did, I would definitely wear this outfit to work and just tuck the blouse in to cover my midriff.

How would you style this gingham print shirt for the weekend and the work week?

When it comes to styling the gingham trend, it’s not as tricky as styling other prints because it’s black and white so it’s easier to style than you think! Just add a pop of color and you’re good to go or you can always play it safe with an all black white look like I did. I added the colorful silk printed scarf on my bag for an unexpected twist with all the black and white outfit.  I also paired the look with a pair tan leather mules to help elongate my legs since I’m so short!
