My Complete CoolSculpting Experience

Hey everyone, as we head in to spring and summer, I feel more ready than ever. Which makes me reflect on the positive experience I had with CoolSculpting®, which helped me reduce stubborn fat in certain areas of my body.  If you missed my first two posts about CoolSculpting, you can check them here (My First CoolSculpting Experience) and here (CoolSculpting Update).

I received my first CoolSculpting treatments at the Lupo Center for Aesthetic and General Dermatology in New Orleans on June 26. The moment I announced that I would be working with CoolSculpting to help reduce my stubborn fat on my Instagram, my inbox was immediately flooded with all kinds of questions and the questions haven’t stopped. However, the most frequently asked question I receive is “Does it really work?” While I wanted to answer that question for everyone who asked, I couldn’t until the results were fully complete, which takes about three months. Now that is has officially been more than three months since my first treatment, I can finally answer that question for you all….Yes, it worked for me!

How do I know? Well, this isn’t something I’m proud of or recommend doing, but I have literally worked out the same amount I did before my CoolSculpting treatment in June and I continue to eat plenty of sweets and fried food like I did before. I should make healthier choices, but on the bright side, it actually helped me to see that CoolSculpting was the real reason that my clothing still fits and looks good in the areas I treated.

I treated my lower abdomen and both flanks, which most people refer to as a muffin top. I got four cycles: one on each flank (aka both of my love handles) and then two on my lower abdomen to cover the full area.

Did I lose any weight? No, but I haven’t gained any extra unwanted fat in my treated areas either. Also, just to reiterate, CoolSculpting is not a weight loss program. CoolSculpting is a non-surgical, non-invasive, clinically proven treatment that reduces fat cells through FDA-cleared cooling technology. It’s a comfortable, fat freezing  process that is meant to reduce fat cells in treated areas (aka reduce volume in certain areas) and that’s exactly what it did for me. I could actually tell that my waist seemed slimmer and it has remained that way since. My husband and photographer could also tell as well since they see me almost everyday. It’s a very subtle difference because I only received one treatment, but that was all I wanted. It’s enough for me to feel pleased with the experience and comfortable and happy in my clothes.

Also, as I mentioned in my first post, I did not choose to get CoolSculpting treatments because I don’t like my body or wanted a drastic change. I love my body and just wanted to mold it into its best potential shape.

Why not just work out? I did! I worked out really hard in the 6-7 months leading up to my wedding and while I got great results, I still struggled with those problem areas (aka my waist and love handles) that I just couldn’t shake so I chose CoolSculpting and it worked for my body!

Why did I not choose to get a second treatment? My husband and I are about to start trying for kids.

Uses

The CoolSculpting® procedure is FDA-cleared for the treatment of visible fat bulges in the submental (under the chin) and submandibular (under the jawline) areas, thigh, abdomen and flank, along with bra fat, back fat, underneath the buttocks (also known as banana roll) and upper arm. It is also FDA-cleared to affect the appearance of lax tissue with submental area treatments.  The CoolSculpting® procedure is not a treatment for weight loss.

Important Safety Information

The CoolSculpting® procedure is not for everyone. You should not have the CoolSculpting® procedure if you suffer from cryoglobulinemia, cold agglutinin disease, or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria.

Tell your doctor if you have any medical conditions including recent surgery, pre-existing hernia, and any known sensitivities or allergies.

During the procedure you may experience sensations of pulling, tugging, mild pinching, intense cold, tingling, stinging, aching, and cramping at the treatment site. These sensations subside as the area becomes numb. Following the procedure, typical side effects include temporary redness, swelling, blanching, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging, tenderness, cramping, aching, itching, or skin sensitivity, and sensation of fullness in the back of the throat after submental or submandibular area treatment.

Rare side effects may also occur. CoolSculpting® may cause a visible enlargement in the treated area which may develop two to five months after treatment and requires surgical intervention for correction.

Please see full Important Safety Information for additional information.

Hey everyone, as promised I am sharing an initial update on my CoolSculpting results. I just scheduled my follow up appointment to take my standard “after” photos, but I can already see the results on the treated areas with my own eyes.

In case you missed my first post “My First Coolscupting Experience,” I mentioned that I received my first treatment at the Lupo Center for Aesthetic and General Dermatology in New Orleans. I also explained that I did not choose to get CoolSculpting treatments because I don’t like my body. I love my body and only want to mold it into its best potential shape, which I’m sure is a feeling that most of you can relate to. You can read more about it here—>My First Coolsculpting Experience (OR) you can also check out the video on my IGTV.

Just to refresh your memory…CoolSculpting is a non-surgical, non-invasive, clinically proven treatment that reduces fat cells through FDA-cleared cooling technology. It’s a comfortable, fat freezing process with long-lasting results!

I treated my lower abdomen and both flanks, which most people refer to as a muffin top. I got four cycles: one on each flank (aka both of my love handles) and then two on my lower abdomen to cover the full area. As I mentioned before, I just want to mold my body into its best potential shape and I truly believe that CoolSculpting along with fitness and healthy eating has helped me achieve that. It takes about three months to see the full results and I already was seeing results on my trip to Paris. You can definitely tell a difference when I wear more form fitting clothes. Take this dress for example, you can see where my waist appears slimmer and less volume in the lower abdomen area.

I’ve gotten so many messages from you lately asking about the results and I will definitely share my standardized “after” photos on my Instagram after this next appointment. However, I’m sure that you can already see a difference in these photos of me in a bodycon dress that I wore in Paris. I am so pleased and impressed with the results and I can’t wait to see the side by side photos and share them with you.

Please let me know if you have any further questions about my experience and I will be sure to add my answers to this blog post. Also, let me know if there is anything you’d like me to ask the nurse during my next appointment.

My First CoolSculpting Experience

This post is in partnership with CoolSculpting, a brand I love. All opinions and selections here are my own. Thank you for supporting the affiliate posts who make this blog possible.

Hey everyone, as some of you may know, I recently experienced my first CoolSculpting treatment at the Lupo Center for Aesthetic and General Dermatology in New Orleans. The moment I announced that I would be working with CoolSclupting to help reduce my stubborn fat on my Instagram, my inbox was immediately flooded with questions so I thought I would address everyone’s questions in today’s blog post.

First let me start by saying that I did not choose to get CoolSculpting treatments because I don’t like my body. I love my body and only want to mold it into its best potential shape. If you think about it, we don’t wear makeup and contour our best facial features because we hate our faces. We wear makeup because we love our faces and just want to enhance our beauty. So why not enhance other parts of your body if there is a safe and non-surgical way?

I try to go to the gym a couple times a week and eat in moderation to maintain my figure, but the areas that I just can never get rid of is my lower belly fat and my flanks, also known as your love handles. I can’t even remember the last time my stomach was completely flat. I couldn’t even get rid of it when I was going hardcore in the gym before my wedding and doing the Whole 30 diet. So even before my first appointment, I decided that I wanted to treat my flanks and lower abdomen. During the consultation, Dr. Mary Lupo agreed that I was a great candidate because she could actually grab the fat from my skin and pull it away. She pointed out a couple other spots that would help enhance my chosen areas of treatment, but I chose to take it easy for the first time.

What exactly is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a non-surgical, non-invasive, clinically proven treatment that reduces fat cells through FDA-cleared cooling technology. it’s a comfortable, fat freezing process with long-lasting results!

What body parts can CoolSculpting treat?

CoolSculpting can help sculpt & shape areas of your body that are prone to stubborn fatty cells, such as your lower abdomen, flanks, outer and inner thighs, and the double chin.

What areas did you treat and how many treatments are you getting?

I treated my lower abdomen and both flanks, which most people refer to as a muffin top. I got four cycles: one on each flank (aka both of my love handles) and then two on my lower abdomen to cover the full area.

You’re not an overweight person. Why do you think you need CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is great for people who workout hard and eat right to stay fit, but just can’t get rid of that extra stubborn fat. I can attest to that because I did high intensity workouts 3-4 times a week and ate healthy before my wedding and I still couldn’t lose the extra belly fat and my love handles.

I know I can try juice cleanses and completely give up all carbs, but I think CoolSculpting is a much “cooler” alternative. Plus it’s safe, effective and proven to eliminate your unwanted treated fat for good.

Does CoolSculpting Hurt? I was so nervous before the treatments because I’ve never done anything like this before and people mentioned that it’s pretty uncomfortable and leaves you feeling sore and tender after, but I found that the actual process really didn’t hurt like I thought it might. Was it uncomfortable? Yes! I was glad that I only did four cycles during my first treatment because I didn’t want to overdo it knowing that I may be sore afterward. The first five minutes of each cycle was quite unpleasant for me because that part of my body had to get used to the feeling, but once it freezes and becomes numb, it’s not bad at all. Then comes the two-minute massage, which basically feels like you’re sore from working out and someone is tickling you. I know that sounds weird, but that’s the best way I can describe it.

You can also check out the video on my IGTV to see how I reacted! I also touch on how I felt the next day after the treatment. I recommend taking Ibuprofen right after the treatment and the next day. I also suggest wearing something loose fitting on the way home from your treatment as the treated areas may become very swollen during the process.

In the days following your treatment, you may feel more comfortable wearing compression garments since you could still be swollen, sore and numb for up to 10 days after your treatment. The soreness isn’t that bad though, I was able to attend an event the next day and go about the rest of my week like normal. I just still felt a little uncomfortable.

Have you already seen results?

It takes about three months to see your complete results, but my husband swears he can already tell in my waist after only two weeks! LOL I took standardized “before” photos of each area before receiving the cycles and I will go back to The Lupo Center in three months to take the “after” photos exact in the same spot wearing the same articles of clothing. Be sure to check out how the process works over my Instagram video.

Can the fat come back?

They said that most people feel motivated to stay close to their ideal weight after seeing the results from their CoolSculpting procedure. However, if you do gain weight, you may gain it evenly all over your body, not just in the treated areas.
