Hello Everyone!  I hope you all thoroughly enjoyed your weekend, but it’s back to work on Monday.  Speaking of work, this is an outfit I chose because quite a few people requested some new, chic, work wear looks.  They enlightened me that they would not want to strut any bright colors till the end of march so I put together a few transition pieces!  The white blazer is actually a boyfriend blazer, but with the help of a thin belt it was easily turned into a fitted, business-like, yet feminine blazer making this outfit instantly chic!  The skirt from express is so comfortable and the taupe color is very versatile making it an easy transition piece into the spring.  This particular skirt may a little too short for some of you being that I am only 5 ft tall.  Despite its reputation you can actually find some work wear gems at Express.   Beneath the white blazer I am wearing a sheer, black Patterson Kincaid blouse over a black tank, but any black blouse would work for this outfit.  I chose nude pumps since I am short and wanted to lengthen my legs a tad with the taupe skirt and nude heels.  I like to feel tall and empowered at work!  All of the pieces of this outfit are fairly inexpensive except for my purse, but I believe in investing in one nice, black leather bag that can easily go day to night.  To me, a nice leather purse is a staple item that every woman should own.  However, if you aren’t ready for that just yet, there are plenty of cute inexpensive handbags out there.   As far as jewelry, I think all you need is a simple watch, necklace, one cuff or bracelet and your basic rings to keep a classic, clean look.  I again used a matte red lipstick to pull the whole look together.  I am just loving this Shanghai Express shade!  What did you wear to work today?

P.S.  These photos are from the rainy, freezing cold photo shoot hence the umbrella.

Also, if you noticed…my hair looks a little fuller because sweet Courtney Johnson from Rigsby Frederick salon, inserted a few hair extensions into my hair.  She did a great a job and she is super precious.  I just might have to feature her as an F.I.F!
