Good Morning readers and welcome to Day 7 of Haute Off The Rack’s Island Getaway.  If you saw my summer vacation fashion segment on WBRZ news then you probably recognize this outfit, but I never got a chance to tell you about it.  First of all, if you don’t have a BCBG bandage skirt, you need to get on that.  They come in a fabulous selection of colors and there are so many ways to style them. Plus they smooth everything out and leave with you with just the amount of curves.  Secondly,  I’m so glad that I decided to add this Alice and Trixie halter to my summer wardrobe because the neutral colors pair so easily with all of the bright clothing and accessories that I already have in my closet. Plus it also looks great with an all white look or just a classic pair of flared denim jeans.

Packing Tips:  Make sure to pack a neutral-colored top that you can throw on with any bottom in your suitcase and dress up or down with your jewelry and accessories in the case that you need an extra outfit during your vacation.

Jewelry: Diamonds and Bows ring c/o (Thank you to Hello Fab), Sideways cross ring (here), Two Tone watch (Michael Kors), Cross Bracelet (Anna’s Armoire),

Good Morning readers, did you notice that my entire outfit from the dress to the shoes is currently on sale?  It just goes to show that January is the perfect time to scoop up a few cocktail dresses while they’re on winter clearance.  I don’t know about you, but whenever I need to find a dress for a special occasion I can never seem to find one that I really like.  That is why I have learned to search for eye-catching, yet classic-style cocktail dresses on sale in between seasons to keep in my closet in the event that something comes up.

The French Connection Shoot to Thrill dress is such an exquisite dress and perfect for cocktail events. Plus it’s over 50% off right now at French Connection! Talk about “a sale to thrill!” I wore it this past New Years Eve with a pair of nude pumps, some sparkly tassel earrings and my rose gold Marc Jacobs clutch.  I think that shift dresses usually look better on taller people so I figured the nude pumps would help elongate my legs and give me a longer and leaner shape.  Plus the nude color doesn’t take away from the stunning features of the dress.  For jewelry, all I did was add a few simple gold bracelets, my two-tone Michael Kors watch and the adorable Diamonds and Bows ring gifted from Hello Fab.

Happy New Years!!

Save the best for last. Whether you’re spending New Year’s Eve at home with close friends and a few bottles of champagne, watching the ball drop in Times Square, or partying at an exclusive VIP event, go out with a bang wearing the best outfit you’ve got. To make your night special, I’ve put together a little New Year’s Eve checklist to help everything run smoothly.

Ladies’ Checklist
1) Ladies, instead of stressing yourself over putting an outfit together, just find a show-stopping dress. It’s an outfit all in one. Just don’t forget to accessorize.

2) Wear at least one sparkly piece of statement jewelry, like these pave tassel earrings from C. Wonder featured in F is For Fashion, and guarantee that all eyes will be on you.

3) If you’re hoping for the perfect New Year’s kiss at midnight, don’t forget to spray on some perfume to smell great all night long.  My new favorite scent is L.I.L.Y by Stella McCartney.

4) Complete your New Year’s look with the perfect sparkly or embellished clutch. Not only will it jazz up your outfit, but it’s also the perfect place to stash your makeup essentials for quick touch-ups throughout the night. Don’t forget to pack some lip balm to keep your lips nice and smooth for that midnight kiss.

Good Morning readers, are you ready for tonight? I know I am! New Years Eve is always an eventful night for me, or at least it has been for the past six years considering that it’s my boyfriend’s birthday and our six year anniversary.  This year we’ve got plans to ring in the New Year New Orleans style with some friends.  I’m not really wearing this outfit tonight, but I know how much you all love this feather skirt so I figured I’d style it for you just one more time.  I actually wore this skirt for New Years last year to the New Orleans Contemporary Arts Center and surprisingly enough, it held up pretty well.  If you want to see this year’s outfit, make sure to follow me on Instagram @hauteofftherack for an exclusive first look. I want to know what you’re wearing too, so make sure to tag @Hauteofftherack in your New Year’s photos on Twitter and Instagram!  Have a wonderful New Years Eve everyone, and please make sure to be safe and make smart decisions!

Good Morning readers, what are your thoughts on black, white and gold outfit number three this week?  I’m thinking that this menswear-inspired look just might be my favorite! From the metallic pinstripe blouse down to the loafered-heels, there are just so many elements to this outfit that make it look amazing.  I think the white oversized blazer pulls the whole together and the metallic, laser cut clutch is the perfect finishing touch.  I actually wore this to a Christmas party on Monday night, and got so many compliments. I really love pairing black, white and gold together.  It’s the most polished and sophisticated color combo for the holidays.

On another note, I would just like to thank Casey Scheib and Kristen Soileau for doing such an excellent job lately.  Are they not amazing photographers?  They work so hard to give my readers the best quality pictures, and my blog wouldn’t be half as great without them.  Thank you ladies!
